    Dang, Jo look good! And Leah your looking fine as ever! I cut a bunch of strips of leather, when I'm doing it, so I don't have to mess with that part. Than store them., the rest is easy when I need them. Happy New Year you two fine women!

Thank you very much and best regards from South of Spain!

    Hello and thank you again for your lovely video. I'm in the process of making some jesse's for my female harris hawk which I will get next year as I mentioned in another video comment I made. It may be to soon but I am practice really. My question is if I'm using 10mm eyelets how wide should the Jesse's be would it be 12mm .thank you again and I look forward to your reply. Have a nice day.

      @jantirpak7902 4 года назад +2

      Hi, you need medium-sized predators like haris
      6 mm eyelets, for large predators like golden eagls 10 mm.

    Hey Jo have u ever done a video on your sponsor when you first became a falconer? Or your start? I don't particularly remember.

      Hey Dominic, in our very first video Jo detailed a little bit about her experience learning falconry:
      ruclips.net/video/_FFmqfPkBKg/видео.html
      To be perfectly honest, she learned from "the best negative experience" if you know what I mean. We probably won't dive into that too much in upcoming episodes if I'm honest, but if you check out our first episode above then it'll give you a little insight. :) - Leah

    @ falcon lady
    Hello, this year I want to try heating cables in bows for haris hawk. In winter it is -5 ° C to -17 ° C, with goshawks it is not a problem. I don't want to heat the entire Mews. The raptors must burn fat stores in winter and pathogenic microbes do not multiply in mews.

    • @TheFalconLady
      @TheFalconLady  4 года назад +1

      Very interesting, please let us know how perch heaters goes! We are also experimenting with some strategic heater additions in the mews and will be creating an episode all about that soon :) -leah

      @@TheFalconLady Good evening, I have never used them until now, I just heard about it. They are heaters for terrariums and aquariums, and have a thermostat. I would like to use the power of 10 W and the length of 3.5 meters. Wrap it under the braid bow sitting. Temperature control is a problem. If the outside temperature is below the set temperature, the thermostat switches on. But if the predator does not shut down on the bow, because the outside temperature is still low, but the predator's legs are warm, this is the place for the greatest heat loss. First I have to find out if the predator burns his legs during a very long sitting. Therefore, the power of only 10 W. The temperature on the bow even when insulated feathers must not rise above 15 ° C. If it works, then I can use it with predators. I'm sure I'll let you know.

    Why do you need the hole in the mews jesses?

    • @TheFalconLady
      @TheFalconLady  4 года назад

      The hole in the mews jesses is so that the swivel can fit through the bottom of the jesses, which connects the jesse to the leash. Check out this episode to get a really good close up of Scirocco's furniture:

      @@TheFalconLady I meant the flying jesses...oops

    • @TheFalconLady
      @TheFalconLady  4 года назад

      No worries! We actually don't want any loops or holes in the flying jesses, anything besides a smooth piece can get caught in trees which could possibly be fatal. That's why we switch out the mews jesses for the flying jesses when Mohave goes out for free flying. We have an episode coming soon in which Mohave gets dressed, which will detail the process! :) -leah
