Tried Over 100 Cables (Micro USB) including A Certified PlayStation 4 Micro USB and Still no luck ! I've Even Bought New Controllers And Still Nothing !
Sony Told Me some PlayStations will have an issue with the Bluetooth receiver malfunctioning not allowing controllers to sync up ! What i ended up doing was sending my PlayStation off to Sony for repair because i was still in factory warranty! And they fixed it for me for free all i needed was a copy of my receipt 🧾 ! Sadly i never found a fix on my own i had tried everything!
I feel for anyone going through this issue because if your out of warranty you kinda stuck with a useless system until it decides to work again ! I HAVE HEAED OF PEOPLE USING A FRIENDS CONTROLLER AND IT WORKING so they just end up trading controllers !

(Still holding share) hold down PlayStation button in middle until light blinks white really fast 4. Look and screen and click the controller you are trying to connect. Ik I restored default settings to get rid of parental controls but then it said connect controller with cable and then it just wouldn’t connect and now I can’t play my PS4 and I only got it a few months ago. Now no one will buy me a new PS4 considering it’s pretty mush new.

Trust me, it's not worth it, I play 'Play Now Online' a lot. 2k mycareer is trash and boring for me. My player sucks as a Shot Creating Slasher (81 OVR). 2k requires you to pay for everything. Can't style out my player. 20,000 for tims? 3,500 for moto pants? 14,000 for LeBron 16's? Crazy. That's why I moved on to Play Now Online which is very fun!
same thing here. found out there are differences in how many copper connections are in your micro usb plug and how many ohms are being pushed on that cable. i tried over 20 cables and found one that had one more pin than the rest. it worked.
I found the solution: - 1 go to settings; - 2 go to devices; - 3 go to Bluetooth devices - 4 select the DualShock (without the green circle); - 5 press option; - 6 select forget device; - 7 reset button 10 sec (behind controller); - 8 press PS-button & share at the same time; - 9 wait a few seconds; - 10 DualShock appears; - 11 Press DualShock (with the one working or with the keyboard); - 12 Press connect; - 13 DONE!! :D
I had the same issue too. This is what I recommend doing, 1) make sure your ps4 is on. 2) connect your ps4 controller with an USB cable. 3) while your ps4 is connected and your controller, unplug the cable connecting your ps4 on the back. (that would turn off your PS4 and make sure your controller is connected as well..) 4) plug back that cable and turn on your PS4 using your controller (your screen is going to be in reboot mode). 5) wait until its done and then press your PS4 controller home bottom. It should work now. It did for me.
Have your charger cable inside the control,unplug the console,plug it back in, and then dont touch the control at all, turn on the ps4 from the console (not the control) and then wait until the control flashes yellow twice or three times and im pretty sure your good.
When the WiFi/Bluetooth module goes bad, your controllers will stop working in the OS but will work in Safe Mode. Replacing the module requires soldering. This is not plug-and-play. These symptoms could also be caused by a firmware issue instead.
just do like i did. try it on another tv and it will work. it's weird,but it worked. just plug i cable for your contoller and start your ps4 on your ps4 button,then just press ps button on your control. done :)
For everyone that's having this problem try putting the PlayStation on safe mode and to do that you have to turn off your PlayStation then hold down on the power button until you hear 2 beeps and then try plugging in the controller and see if you can move around if not like mine then you have to get another controller because the receiver is broken inside the charging port of the old controller and keep on safe mode and everything should work and you should be able to move around unless your PlayStation USB ports are broken. Guys I'm almost certain this is a technical issue beyond average fix ! If you have this issue you have to call Sony to get it fixed ! I tried to reset, use different cables, initialize, boot in safe mode, connect new remotes, brand new controllers, take out the power cord ! Erase my ps4, leave it plugged overnight even for a week, and it never Sync or connected to my ps4 THERES NOTHING YOU CAN DO !

What you need: -Keyboard -Controller -access to a home screen What you do: -Plug in keyboard, the scheme is the following: Esc - back F3 - Dual Shock 4 Options button Prt Sc/SysRq - DS4 Share button Pause/Break - moves you back to inserted disc in the main menu Backspace - back Enter- enter Arrow keys - moving in menus -Get to an account's main menu somehow -Use the arrow keys to go to your settings -Go to Devices -Bluetooth Devices -Hit Enter on whatever you see -Hit F3 to Forget Device -Clear the menu of all devices Connection time: -Hold the PS & Share button at the same time -Hold until the light bar starts flashing rapidly like you're being pulled over -Use keyboard to approve whatever pops up on screen
I've had the same problem, and I've noticed that not all micro usb cables charge the ps4 and also connecting a micro usb cable into a plug in wall charger won't work as well. But pluging them in pc, mac, or some sort of electrical device that has a usb port (PS4, cable box, HDTVs) do work.
Found it… remote play ur ps4, go to Bluetooth devices, on controller hold power and share til it blinks then go back to remote play and select the controller you’re trying to use. On the selection screen there should be almost transparent dots to the left of the devices. The one that doesn’t have a dot next to it is most likely the controller you’re trying to use.

Hold the center button and the option button at the same time. Then put your playstation in rest mode then with it turns into rest mode press the center button and it should start back up.
it's crazy how many people are having this problem. have two controllers that one day stopped syncing. tried everything people have recommended with no success
(With my phone and the second screen app) I Went to settings/devices/Bluetooth devices and pressed options to forget Device. Then I pressed the the home and option button together to set up Bluetooth. For a fresh controller setting it up through the Bluetooth should be the same fix.
Sadly you had to already have the app connected to your PS4 before the de sync occurs. Once you’ve connected with your phone before you should be good to just download the app and sign up. If you haven’t this method will most likely not help. If there was a way to connect your phone without the controller it’s unknown to me.
Fellas, I got this exact same issue and the way it was solved for me was that I got a micro usb cable “Argom tech DURAFORM 2.4A charge & sync cable” I shutdown the ps4, connected the controller to the console and then turned on the console, the PS button worked for me right away! No need to reset controller or other thing! Hope it helps someone out there still with this problem
Let me explain my problem: I went to a friends house yesterday and I brought my remotes. I synced them with my charger USB and that seemed to work. Today when I get home I try the same method and my remotes won't sync because they can't even charge.
Anyone still having this problem should go by a Sony cable plug in your controller and hold the PlayStation button for 25 seconds and LEAVE IT OFF for 24 hours then try again
for the new people who dont know how to fix it all you need to do it hold the power button on your ps4 while holding the reset button on the controller once the ps4 is off unplug the controller and put another cable in do not turn on your ps4 and when you have switched your wire turn the ps4 on by the console and wait for the controller to flash yellow 2 times and wait about 5 mins before turning controller on starting when you pushed the button on the ps4 to turn it on and once youve waited 5 mins turn your controller on and it should turn blue worked for me sorry if it doesnt work for anyone els
Ok so I was lucky because I had a second controller but this is what worked for me. Turn on the ps4 go to settings, devices then Bluetooth devices, go there and press the ps button and share button simultaneously until the controller that doesn’t work connects. Hope this helps somebody, for those that it didn’t damn 😪

Same issues but got it sorted.. Used an USB controller to get into the system then went to devices/Bluetooth devices clicked on any controller showing then options button to forget any controllers showing... When I Bluetoothed my wireless controller again it found it this time...
Get a USB keyboard go to Bluetooth devices in PS4 settings delete all the devices and start over reconnecting your controller. Fast fix ever. Takes 2 mins.

I finally fixed it!!! This dude probobly already gave up on the ps4. But to those of you who havnt gave up yet listen up: I had the exact same problem as this guy, seriously I might as well be the owner of the video. I tried every single solution out there, but what fixed it for me was pretty simple: this dude talked about how he tried every single usb cable with no luck, I did the same with every single cable I had at my house and it didnt work. So I went to my friend's house to try and use his keyboard and reset the ps4 settings. It didnt read the keyboard as well😅. But I saw an orange JBL cable laying over there and finally the ps4 could sync with the controllers! My original ps4 usb cable wasnt able to do that, but that JBL cable was! So my seggustion before you give up hope, try other usb cables, try to borrow your friend's JBL cable if you dont have one. The one my friend has came with a JBL speaker he got in the the packge just letting y'all know
YO. Anyone freaking out about this I just fixed it after hours, there’s only one way. u need to try as many usb cords as possible, I had a perfectly good one that worked for all controllers EXCEPT MY NEW ONE. ALL U GOTTA DO IS USE A DIFFERENT CORD TILL IT WORKS GOOD LUCK
You have to open up your PlayStation and go to settings and Bluetooth devices than use the usb cord otherwise it doesn’t work. This worked for me, hoped this was useful.
@@s-14_sgr24 your wrong his controller won’t sync. He has it in the Bluetooth thing where you can connect the controller to your phone!! That’s why the controller is flashing orange than turns off .
He has to hold down the home button to turn of the Bluetooth mode for 10 seconds than try using it with the usb cord. It should connect automatically when using the controller

OMG this actually worked... my next step would have been to throw that shitbox out of my window... Idk why the ps4 does that it never did in the past. You are right you have to have at least 1 controller or keyboard connected in order to do this Anyways thanks a lot
What works for me is to have your ps4 on. Have the controller plugged in. Push the reset button in the back for 10 seconds while the ps4 is still on. Then completely shut off your ps4. Turn the ps4 back on by holding down the playstation button on your controller. Your controller should connect and your ps4 should turn on.

this same exact thing happened to me last night after having mine since December of 2013. if it costs $99 you’re better off just saving for another one honestly . i really don’t want to get it repaired due to its old age.
I HAVE THE REAL FIX In order to get this going you first need a few things - Access to connect your PS4 to a router with a cable to ensure it is on your network since you can't use a controller to connect to wifi - Download and install the PS4 remote play app on a computer (just do a google search for it) - Make sure the computer and PS4 are on the same network - Now that you have the PS4 connected to the network and installed the PS4 remote play app on the computer go into the the app and connect to your PS4 it will ask for your PS4 sign in user name and password - Once connected to the PS4 on your computer you know can use your keyboard to control your PS4 (Arrow keys to navigate, Enter key is X button and ESC key is back button) - Go to settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth device delete the dual shock 4 profiles that are there - Now but your controller in sync mode holding down share then the PS button while still holding share until the light bar starts blinking - You should see the controller pop up on the screen to be add and now you can use your keyboard to actually set it up Hope this helps it did for me after weeks of watching videos online, buy new controllers and trying countless cables If is does not work you probably have a board issue and will need to send your PS4 out for real repairs

I tried everything this dude has and what people are saying in the comments, make sure you only ever use 1 charge wire with 1 specific controller, I have 6 controllers and 5 wire chargers and none of them are compatible with each other, so buy a new controller and new wire keep them together, never mix up wires and controllers, hope this helped :)
You don’t need a controller for the remote play app once u activated the app then u control the console form ur phone so ur phone if the controller then go to settings and connect the actual controller
@@jeppe4545 but your ports work, sounds like a controller issue, if you hold the share and PS button down, then reconnect it to the PS4, it should re-pair with your PS4, try that.
@@tommy-leeanfield9514 I called up PlayStation, paid $220 (Canadian) and sent it in to get fixed, like brand new now. Kind of bs I paid half the price of a new console to get that fixed though. But, if you're like me and you use an external hard drive, you need all the usb ports working.
I've tried multiple usb cords, multiple controllers(all work on my bro's PS4), options 1-5 on safe mode, tried keyboards, the second screen app but it needs a code, hard reset, and the regular reset with needle.

For anybody who is having this issu to fix it just plug the controller in the PS4 using the usb cord then turn Off PS4 then turn is back on while it's booting up put the controller into pairing mode by pressing the share and ps button and once the PS4 boots up and it says press ps button it should work

@shurlone pope If nobody have tried this method yet then you can do this too I had used my PS4 controller for my pc but after I wanted to get it reconnect to my PS4 again I tried to find solutions on RUclips and internet until I found this way If you have another controler go in devices bluetooth and delete all controllers except on with green light in it and then press ps button and share button on controler that won't connect it will show up in bluetooth devices

I tried two before I found one that worked, try resetting your controller as well. When I got in my account was logged out so all I had to do was log back in and we were good to go😎 if that still doesn’t work call Sony

Just had this issue, 3 controllers and none would connect using an official ps4 micro usb. I unplugged the ps4 from everything, let it rest for 10 minutes, plugged it back in and connected the USB to the ps4, pressed the ps button and everything started up just like usual. Pretty shitty to have to do this in 2020 but considering the way the first half of the year has been I'm not surprised. So try these steps and see if it helps, if not, light it on fire and toss out the closest window and never look back. If this thing dies I'm switching to pc gaming and Sony can suck it

Also you need to know Sony will overnight you a box! (if you are in warranty) they will fix it free ! If not then be prepared to pay 99$ also you need the original receipt no written receipts it must show date of purchase model # and serial # and the store name on the physical copy and the amount you paid

There is a small micro fuse on the PS4 motherboard that can blow, if it does, your USB will stop working, no charging or connecting and you have to replace the micro fuse.

what you do is hold the share button and a PlayStation button at the same time for five seconds your controller will start to Flash and if you have another controller that is connected to your PS4 go to settings and then go to devices and then click on Bluetooth device and you will see Dualshock 4 controller at the bottom of your screen click on that and agreed that you want to connect and your controller should work
lol hell nah it actually worked lmfao. I didn't have any controllers connected to my ps4 cause I had them all connected to my other ps4. so what I did was connected my psvita to the remote play ps4 and did the steps you said. also I deleted some devices from the Bluetooth devices and it worked.

The fix for me was to get an original USB for the controller or just a high quality one. It doesn’t reconnect with some wires thats where your isssue is

Have your charger cable inside the control,unplug the console,plug it back in, and then dont touch the control at all, turn on the ps4 from the console (not the control) and then wait until the control flashes yellow twice or three times and im pretty sure your good.

For everyone that's having this problem try putting the PlayStation on safe mode and to do that you have to turn off your PlayStation then hold down on the power button until you hear 2 beeps and then try plugging in the controller and see if you can move around if not like mine then you have to get another controller because the receiver is broken inside the charging port of the old controller and keep on safe mode and everything should work and you should be able to move around unless your PlayStation USB ports are broken.

I tried to reset, use different cables, initialize, boot in safe mode, connect new remotes, brand new controllers, take out the power cord ! -Get to an account's main menu somehow
-Use the arrow keys to go to your settings
-Go to Devices
-Bluetooth Devices
-Hit Enter on whatever you see
-Hit F3 to Forget Device
-Clear the menu of all devices
Connection time:
-Hold the PS & Share button at the same time
-Hold until the light bar starts flashing rapidly like you're being pulled over
-Use keyboard to approve whatever pops up on screen

I've had the same problem, and I've noticed that not all micro usb cables charge the ps4 and also connecting a micro usb cable into a plug in wall charger won't work as well. But pluging them in pc, mac, or some sort of electrical device that has a usb port (PS4, cable box, HDTVs) do work.
Found it… remote play ur ps4, go to Bluetooth devices, on controller hold power and share til it blinks then go back to remote play and select the controller you’re trying to use. On the selection screen there should be almost transparent dots to the left of the devices. The one that doesn’t have a dot next to it is most likely the controller you’re trying to use.

(With my phone and the second screen app) I Went to settings/devices/Bluetooth devices and pressed options to forget Device. Then I pressed the the home and option button together to set up Bluetooth. For a fresh controller setting it up through the Bluetooth should be the same fix.

Sadly you had to already have the app connected to your PS4 before the de sync occurs. Once you’ve connected with your phone before you should be good to just download the app and sign up. If you haven’t this method will most likely not help. If there was a way to connect your phone without the controller it’s unknown to me.

Fellas, I got this exact same issue and the way it was solved for me was that I got a micro usb cable “Argom tech DURAFORM 2.4A charge & sync cable”
I shutdown the ps4, connected the controller to the console and then turned on the console, the PS button worked for me right away!
No need to reset controller or other thing!

Get a USB keyboard go to Bluetooth devices in PS4 settings delete all the devices and start over reconnecting your controller. Fast fix ever. Takes 2 mins.

But to those of you who havnt gave up yet listen up: I had the exact same problem as this guy, seriously I might as well be the owner of the video.
I tried every single solution out there, but what fixed it for me was pretty simple: this dude talked about how he tried every single usb cable with no luck, I did the same with every single cable I had at my house and it didnt work.
So I went to my friend's house to try and use his keyboard and reset the ps4 settings.
It didnt read the keyboard as well😅.
But I saw an orange JBL cable laying over there and finally the ps4 could sync with the controllers!
My original ps4 usb cable wasnt able to do that, but that JBL cable was!
So my seggustion before you give up hope, try other usb cables, try to borrow your friend's JBL cable if you dont have one.
The one my friend has came with a JBL speaker he got in the the packge just letting y'all know

He has to hold down the home button to turn of the Bluetooth mode for 10 seconds than try using it with the usb cord. It should connect automatically when using the controller
I literally just had the same problem but fixed it by doing this!
1. Go to Setting›Devices›Bluetooth Devices›
2. Hold share button for 5 seconds
3. (Still holding share) hold down PlayStation button in middle until light blinks white really fast
4. Look and screen and click the controller you are trying to connect.
It should be the last choice on the Bluetooth list and should connect automatically.

What works for me is to have your ps4 on. Have the controller plugged in. Push the reset button in the back for 10 seconds while the ps4 is still on. Then completely shut off your ps4. Turn the ps4 back on by holding down the playstation button on your controller. Your controller should connect and your ps4 should turn on.

this same exact thing happened to me last night after having mine since December of 2013. if it costs $99 you’re better off just saving for another one honestly . i really don’t want to get it repaired due to its old age.
I HAVE THE REAL FIX
In order to get this going you first need a few things
- Access to connect your PS4 to a router with a cable to ensure it is on your network since you can't use a controller to connect to wifi
- Download and install the PS4 remote play app on a computer (just do a google search for it)
- Make sure the computer and PS4 are on the same network
- Now that you have the PS4 connected to the network and installed the PS4 remote play app on the computer go into the the app and connect to your PS4 it will ask for your PS4 sign in user name and password
- Once connected to the PS4 on your computer you know can use your keyboard to control your PS4 (Arrow keys to navigate, Enter key is X button and ESC key is back button)
- Go to settings -> Devices -> Bluetooth device delete the dual shock 4 profiles that are there
- Now but your controller in sync mode holding down share then the PS button while still holding share until the light bar starts blinking
- You should see the controller pop up on the screen to be add and now you can use your keyboard to actually set it up
Hope this helps it did for me after weeks of watching videos online, buy new controllers and trying countless cables
If is does not work you probably have a board issue and will need to send your PS4 out for real repairs

I tried everything this dude has and what people are saying in the comments, make sure you only ever use 1 charge wire with 1 specific controller, I have 6 controllers and 5 wire chargers and none of them are compatible with each other, so buy a new controller and new wire keep them together, never mix up wires and controllers, hope this helped :)

I've tried multiple usb cords, multiple controllers(all work on my bro's PS4), options 1-5 on safe mode, tried keyboards, the second screen app but it needs a code, hard reset, and the regular reset with needle.

For anybody who is having this issu to fix it just plug the controller in the PS4 using the usb cord then turn Off PS4 then turn is back on while it's booting up put the controller into pairing mode by pressing the share and ps button and once the PS4 boots up and it says press ps button it should work

If you have another controler go in devices bluetooth and delete all controllers except on with green light in it and then press ps button and share button on controler that won't connect it will show up in bluetooth devices

Just had this issue, 3 controllers and none would connect using an official ps4 micro usb. I unplugged the ps4 from everything, let it rest for 10 minutes, plugged it back in and connected the USB to the ps4, pressed the ps button and everything started up just like usual. Pretty shitty to have to do this in 2020 but considering the way the first half of the year has been I'm not surprised. So try these steps and see if it helps, if not, light it on fire and toss out the closest window and never look back. If this thing dies I'm switching to pc gaming and Sony can suck it

There is a small micro fuse on the PS4 motherboard that can blow, if it does, your USB will stop working, no charging or connecting and you have to replace the micro fuse.

what you do is hold the share button and a PlayStation button at the same time for five seconds your controller will start to Flash and if you have another controller that is connected to your PS4 go to settings and then go to devices and then click on Bluetooth device and you will see Dualshock 4 controller at the bottom of your screen click on that and agreed that you want to connect and your controller should work

just got it. just fixed it :) just do like i did. try it on another tv and it will work. it's weird,but it worked. just plug i cable for your contoller and start your ps4 on your ps4 button,then just press ps button on your control. done :)

My controller randomly turn off and then I tried to turn it back on but when I did that my controller started to blink white lights and I'm not sure what good method to use
Bro same I was loading into fortnite then my screen froze and outta nowhere my controller disconnected and on the top left corner it said “cannot connect to network”
