Long road zen
I search for it, that harmonic high I get when the wind buffet, road hum, engine rumble, sunlight, and temperature all combine to elevate my consciousness.
I search for it on the highways and byways, the backroads, on sunny days I wish would never end. I crave the solitude and the long introspective talks I have with myself and my maker, all of it stretched out on an open road.
Where am I going? It doesn't matter. I am the destination. As soon as my feet hit the pegs, and the wheels are turning, I'm there.
All the stress and turmoil, all the "what if's" and "should have's", any doubt's and wants stream off of my soul, like gossamer threads in the wind. It's basic freedom of the everyday grind, it's a grin so wide it hurts, it's a tonne of weight lifted off my shoulders, it's the calm knowledge I can break away from the world, and leave it behind.
I know it like a drug, addictive and fiery, it colors my view and soothes my mind.
It's spiritual and healing, it's my escape. If you've found it, I don't need to explain, if you search for it, you already know, if you don't understand it, all is not lost, buy a motorcycle
and learn to ride.
Then you'll hear the clean clear call of the wind and the open road.
Ian Stradian
Gossamer threads in the wind. Really? Most people write in black and white, lacking dimension. You intersperse your words with a color filled palette, with which, you paint your vision. It's a good thing. Keep writing.
Did you write this?
Traveling Tall yes sir.
I have a Harley habit, my father believed that if you instill a love of motorcycles in your children they will never have money for drugs.
He bought me my first bike at age 11.
I’m 53 and I ride every chance I get.
Traveling Tall I really enjoyed your Route 66 video.
Thank you.
Yes...The reply, not the OP.
I LOVED this video!! Definitely post more videos like this! I watched every minute. I can’t wait to get out West and ride roads like in this video.

“I don’t know if I’m in front of’em or he’s behind me” 😂😂.
It’s the same thing!!! I know what you mean but it’s funny either way!!! Great job!! Love the vids!!
An old truckers adage is, "It's not how fast you go, it's how long you go". If you think about it you'll see what I mean.
Tall, dad pulled the old I need to stop and get something out of my stuff (that will take a while to find, or until my son catches up) yall go on ahead. I'll catchup later. 😊
I enjoyed this and would love to see more.
Amen brother. I love this video. I just got a road glide for my 40th birthday. I plan to ride to San Diego and the Redwood forest from FL. This year or early next year.
That truck and trailer that passed you was the Haulapai River Runners. They do river rafting down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. They start just outside of Peach Springs,AZ and take out near Meadview, AZ.
I’m so flippin’ jealous right now.....
Kingman to Seligman on Rt.66 is 87 miles. and here's some info on the rafts you saw on the trailer. grandcanyonwest.com/explore/colorado-river-rafting/
Nice video. I'm glad you found your drone. I know that feeling!
I do wish the cell phone storage was big enough to close on my galaxy s9
Riding Route 66 is on my bucket list. I enjoyed your vid.
I'm actually finally going to plan me a good road trip, I'm just gonna jump on I-40 West & ride til I can't no more, find a nice motel, wake up early, eat breakfast, repeat sequence, wake up early, get on I-40 EAST this time and return home.
This is a nice video bro subscribe keep doing ya thang
Man, I just moved from AZ back to my home state (TX). It's always a beautiful ride there. If you ever ride back, ride up to Jerome, AZ
Used to live in Arizona/New Mexico. Miss it down there. My cousin who is like a big sister was born in Kingman. Then, they moved back to MN where we all reside. I'll move back down there again, I know I will. It calls my soul all the time.
AZ is like that. I was born in Kingman as well but resided in nc for the last couple decades. AZ still calls my soul. I love that state.
You were living my dream!
That part of the 66 is my favorite ride .
aaaawwww yes I just love the drive to Arizona bike week. Do you ever go bike week. Its the end of March first part of April in Scottsdale Arizona.
Lorton, VA to St. Louis, MO and Ret 66 to San Bernardino, CA. My next trip.
No cell phone connection, what do you do if you break down out there? You guys are lucky to have roads and wide open spaces like that. Thanks
Something went wrong with the video about 26:47. Can’t watch the rest!
Very enjoyable vid. I’ve run that road 5 or six times. Would have been nice to run it with my dad like you did. Memories!!!
Those are the rafts they give tours on down the Colorado river through the Grand Canyon. I have ridden that stretch of route 66 many times. Too bad you had to race through that section to catch up. Hackberry is fun stop.
Nailed it.
Just found your channel, I'm an AZ guy (Flagstaff). I've been riding an '03 Road King Firefighter SE since I bought it new. I've done several trips across the country to the east coast and also up in to Canada. Love the long rides. Just upgraded to a 2021 Street Glide Special. You can ride a looooong way between towns in AZ. I love that stretch of Rt 66. BTW, those pontoons were river rafts that the Hulapai tribe runs on the lower Colorado River.
My brother, my brother!
That was absolutely fantastic footage. The scenery was beautiful. It was like I was riding along with you. I started getting concern about the gas too as well as Pop and uncle. I was wondering why they didn’t stop several miles back at one of the gas stations, just for safety reasons. Glad y’all finally got back together. I’m a Goldwing rider myself. I’m truly fascinated with the Harley motorcycle. I just may get one for my next bike. I really like the Road King. Simple but powerful. I’ve just started watching your RUclips videos and man I’m enjoying them. Thanks for sharing. Continue to be safe out there. #BeBlessedByTheBest
Man that sky is BEAUTIFUL, only thing you can do better is BE ON THEE 2019 WICKED RED DENIM ROADGLIDE SPECIAL! RIDE ON & RIDE SAFE (9100+)
I just bought a 2003 ultra classic 103 CVO. I need to spend some time with my new bike and then off I go and enjoy Mexico.
If you are going to ride in North Mexico Laredo south be very careful some areas are not safe.
Thank you for your video .
I wonder about the speed of your film. It seems to me that road is way longer than I remember it being. Of course I know little of those go pro type cameras....You riding buds may be waiting at the next intersection....we did it that way.....? Thanks for the video....
Oh, I keep watching, came back on.....that is a long video, your Dad and uncle....you have to be behind them, if they pulled over, they should have been right on the side of the hi way, so you wouldn’t miss them...but that happens too ! Keep the rubber down.
I’ve seen 1 gallon gas cans for hard bags, that fit in the corner so it doesn’t take up much space. I’m not sure where I’ve seen them. But on longer stretch roads would be comforting knowing I have 30-40 miles of extra gas.
Nice trip👍 But why is your helmet not buffering like crazy???.. What kind of helmet is it?.. your windshield also looks the same height as mine 🤔
It was cool to watch just ride w/o commentary. I mean I like commentary. But this was a great video 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Great country. I spent a day or two at Seligman during our road trip in a campervan 10 years ago. Celebrated my b'day there actually. It was cold there in November.
You are absolutely right Tall; as an avid motorcycle rider, the memories we make while doing these rides last a lifetime. I'm thankful for the memories I've been able to make, and for the memories I'll make in the future.
I most often ride alone. I just take off without forethought. However I believe that under most circumstances if you start out as a group you should try to stay together. BTW photography!
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Good job, keep them coming!
I think you mean Kingman Arizona but I'm not sure you tell me
You're right, Kingman AZ not Kingsman. Thanks Jimmy
Man I enjoy your ride /video for me its like im with yall. Thk u
Man I love your vid. Very relaxing. Beautiful landscapes...
Come up To Maine before it gets cold, we'll take up north, it's beautiful!!
Those are pontoons used for delivering supplies to the Indian reservation at the bottom of the Grand Canyon on the Colorado river. They also supply the people river rafting down the Colorado..
Hello Mark, Indian reservation at the bottom of the Grand Canyon! I would have loved to have seen that! What's the name of it? Also I was told that we could of seen the Grand Canyon close to where we were, is that true? We went to Flagstaff then up to the Grand Canyon.
@@TravelingTall.. The village is called Supai. You can only access it from on trail down from the rim of the canyon or by river.
And yes, you were close to the canyon, well the end of it, while you were in Peach Springs. It's only a short ride from there but most people would never know it.
That's why you saw those pontoons on that road..
The Hualapai tribe conducts river raft expeditions there. Be aware though should you decide to go for a swim there the water is numbing cold.. lol..
@@TravelingTall .. Google how do I get to Supai village and you'll see how remote it really is.
By the way, I have kin in Knoxville.. Well Louden..
We went on those down Grand Canyon River
Now that's a ride video, keep them coming. Post them up. Enjoyed it, thanks for sharing.
Trailer tires get hot in the desert. The smaller they are the more they are prone to overheating and blowing.
He had to be going 100mph
I bet he started to run low on fuel, mpg had to be null at that speed.
Thoroughly enjoyed every minute and every mile of that... felt like I was right there with you... those are the kind of roads that dreams are made of... can’t wait to watch more of your videos.
They looked like white water rafts that they use on the Colorado river going down thru the Grand Canyon
It may have been. I'm not sure what it was.
They are River rafts . They drop in at peach springs I think .
I got to see the last 5 or so minutes of the podcast. What I'd like to know is while on the reservation at what speed did you travel? When on the reservation last speaking to one of the elders he indicated to go as fast as we could so hopefully we'd crash. Did you have a similar experience?
Why did he say that?
My what a beautiful view
Have enjoyed all your videos, keep them coming!
Enjoyed this a lot and would like to take my 2021 Street Glide on this Journey..
It's great you got footage of an important part of the ride! And with 30 miles to make up, that means a little time for some speed. 😂
Tall, how did y’all get your bikes over there? Did y’all tow them over and then rode Route 66?
What's going on Tall. Thanks for taking us along with you on the trip. Looking forward to seeing more. Take care and ride safe brah.
Nice video, keep them coming. These are inspiring me for my trip out West!
Love the vid bro but as riders they should've stop an waited for u not a good look...but great vid Tall be safe out there...
You're truly blessed brother, getting to ride with your Dad.
Watching you’re vedio and something went wrong after watching for a hour would like to see the rest of it some way thanks terry
I like watching your videos I already can’t wait tell winter is over there snow here in Billings Montana
They look like rubber river rafts. Lots of guided tours down the Colorado river.
"Light commentary"
Lol, my man didn't stop talking
Looks like a nice relaxing trip to make.
I believe they are drive on floating dry docks for recreational boats
nice idea , I was looking for this, listen motorcycle while working thanks man o/
My literal dream, ive still cant decide on a road glide or a street glide, but that will definitely be me in the future
This is my back yard.. One thing, it's Kingman, not Kingsman.. I think that is a movie..lol..
I very much enjoyed this video..
The thing I love about riding out west is the changing shadows and colors particularly at sunrise and sunset. You can ride in daylight and then all of a sudden you have a whole new array of colors.
Well said
New to channel. Nice content. What time of year did you do this ride? I want to head out that way but the only time I would be able to do it is July.
Really enjoyed this video and I am going to come over from the UK to do this route
I really enjoyed this video. Great job!
Appreciate the video... would like to see more of the long trips.
I love that you can see the trains going on forever seems like out west, one of the cool things I remember from my first time out that way on my bike 3 yrs ago
I think those were pontoon boats. They do guide tours down river.
Is this the bike Zippers went through and tuned for you?
Excellent my friend made the same ride, went to Gilbert,AZ
Love the video sir can’t wait to get me a Harley-Davidson
I believe they float down the Colorado river in the Grand Canyon on those
You’re living the dream
Those were rafts for the Colorado river...
Lived in Page Az. for 28 years. Gods country!
Awesome, awesome ride! Thanks for sharing!
You should have headed south. AZ is a big state with a lot of good roads.
Me again I watched it again and it finished this time don’t know if it was me or the video but I enjoyed it getting ready to hit the road in June. Did a round the states in 78 46000 miles 26 states and three mo on the road can’t wait to do it again. Be safe terry

Really enjoyed watching this TT. I'm 66 yrs old and would love to make this adventure with my dad if he was still with us. You have such a great opportunity. Take advantage of it every chance you get. Hey buddy , I live in Middle TN, I'll take those West adventures with you and your dad myself. Travel safe!!
question, is this you or another person on the bike?
Beautiful ride, I want to ride that way one day... That has to be the longest train I have ever seen...
Thanks for watching Rick
those looked like big white water rafts
I think that truck was hauling two rafts.
What app u use to run all those back roads??
KINGman... don't drop your bike, just drop the S... you're welcome. Thanks for the video
Good night Tall, it’s midnight here and cold!!! Lol!

Enjoyed this man, please put more up!!! It’s encouraging me to take a leap on my new 2020 RGS across multi state lines!!
Tall why didn't you add a tunes and just attenuate the track when you speak? I would love to hit roads like that someday.
