Yoga came to me after decades of following western spiritual traditions. It set me free.
Yoga is just a type of tool to connect with the divine, like how a power cable is needed for your phone to charge.
Unfortunately people are living in low battery claiming I'm the battery and the phone, what else do I need.
Prayer is wireless charging. Bakthi marga the easiest way for liberation involving singing praises with undivided attention is like solar powered phone.. you don't need a charge you are ON as long you are exposed to sun (singing praises)

Many bros in my studio need to watch this. My yoga studio is being over run by the handstand bros who high five each other when one of them holds a handstand for more than five seconds.
I have been practicing yoga for 3 years now and it is a beautiful dance of mind, body and soul. After year 2 I realized yoga was a spiritual path, not just an exercise and do a few times a week. I can now say that I AM a Yogi 🧘♂️ and take my practice everywhere I go in every aspect of my life. Namaste 🙏🏻

Its kinda amazing, that more that I hear about world views of buddha or yogi, more I get interested as I feel that I have created my own view of world and it has become very similar to theirs. I hope I can one day try yoga and learn more of their views of universe, god and world and how they think about the question why there actually exist something rather than that nothing as universe or anything.
True yoga is meditation, and it's as hold as humanity. 🙏

I’m new at yoga I’ve been doing meditation practice for a year and hotha yoga for a few months. What I can’t wrapped my head around is why is it that the birth place is India but it’s not recorded as the most peaceful place on earth

When I meditate, I always fall asleep. Doesn’t matter if I sit on the ground or on a chair, meditate in the morning or afternoon or evening. Sometimes I try to keep my eyes half open, but I still fall asleep. 🤷🏽♀️
Maybe sometimes you fall asleep other times you successfully quiet your mind, especially if it happens a lot when you are sitting.
Maybe when you go to sleep at night, you are actually meditating.

The author has not seen the tamil literature on yoga. There is a great amount of work done by Agasthiya muni and also by Thirumoolar. These two have given so much insight to yoga
Thirumoolar pranayama techniques are path to enlightenment.
Some how the great works of tamil literature gets missed. There is a great treasure to be tapped into.
Almost all the mighty 276 shiva temples in tamilnadu describe yoga in various forms.
According with Vivekananda, Hatha Yoga deals entirely with the physical body, it’s aim being to make the physical body very strong, this do not lead to much spiritual growth, the object is physical , not psychological, health is the chief idea, but that is all.
Google the name 'Dr. Rajkumar'. He was an actor from South India. He practiced hatha yoga and achieved enlightenment. He achieved freedom from reincarnation, was able to leave his physical body on his own will(death) and transcended to the divine level. To this day people in bangalore go to his grave and ask for help and miracles have happened in people's lives.
In yoga physical asanas are the basic and they create the foundation for higher levels of yoga. Physical asanas are the base. Samadhi is ultimate.
Asanas for physical fitness is western primitive concept.
Yoga is all about evolving further.

This mahayuga there could have been 18 and more Sidhars as far as our tradition of knowledge was passed the highly renowned were these 18 only in this mahayuga.
There were 83 such mahayugas happened we are on the 84th mahayuga , since beginning of times I do not know if human beings were ever created in those 84 mahayugas.

Toxins are a limitation. How many people do you know learned asanas from the soma? I think when the chela is ready the master will appear. Lacking one locally is not necessarily a limitation. So what are you doing to prepare yourself as a chela? Now, if you disturb yourself with these medicines, how will you evaluate your visions? Better to clean up and grasp something real. Fact is, a lot of people suffer diseases that make them mad. So it is hard to trust your body/brain even if you avoid medicines. Maybe you are just nuts. Partying is fun when young. Later comes the paying for the playing. What does an animal do when it gets a dose? A bull stands still and shivers until he shakes it off. Purify your body, do yoga, and you will become the animal. The medicines will only be a disease to you. See, this disturbs the powers that be. Keep in mind the US govt is the biggest dope peddler on Earth. It created the black market by fiat. It capitalizes on the defeat of the Taliban in Afghanistan, which is the biggest provider of opiates on Earth today. Maria Montessori was driven out of Italy by the fascists. I am from India and Yoga here is not really defined. It is just a way of life. I dont understand why it is such a big deal to the western people. It is something that everyone just understands without having it defined so extensively. What is next is seen more important here rather than Yoga in itself. It is just understood with a feeling here. Like, everyone and every kid in India follow Yoga. It is a part of daily routine in schools. It is not such a big deal. Lol. Why do people in the west find it so difficult to understand it? Maybe it is easier to Indians because we are just taught it from generations, naturally equipped to accept new knowledge and information and its essence? I really appreciate the people who get into Yoga from the west to understand and learn about it. Kudos to you and good luck.

It is said yoga began with imitating animals. To a degree maybe, but a lot of this stuff is so far out it must come from some other time/space and or dimension. It is timeless as the human form, which is very common in our galaxy and has probably existed a billion years. Add in space travel, and it is ubiquitous forever. The Maestro told us it was a complete system in a golden age 50,000 years ago. Now the study of yoga is fragmented, rather like the Shaolin kung fu. Enjoy what you got. It will be 500 years before science catches up to it. I understand yoga is illegal in Malaysia and is frowned on in Russia. Some places it isn't illegal but might as well be. Liberation will always be controversial. That is not what runs this planet. The herd is guided into the slaughterhouse chute. Nuff said.
Gaia does a great job at presenting ancient knowledge, that you can find and should find all by yourself, like they actually know but they don't it is just a bunch of materialists that are trying to step in front like they are a source of knowledge ....but they are not. Yoga is simple child learned skill and it does not hold even close to the spiritual freedom that Christianity offers. I learned yoga all by my self and am way ahead of any teacher I have seen. I'm looking to learn by myself too, any advice on where to start? I'm not looking for the modern, western version of yoga, I'm craving the authenticity that balances mind body and spirit. Not just body.
Alex Wilson start by not listening to this person, the more you think you know anything the more you know absolutely nothing. Set time aside to sit for longer than hours and listen to your body.
