    Kristy, I can't wait to get your book next month, for now I have 2 beautiful new brushes and will look through your upload and pick and choose some. I am doing a painting and so far loving all of the markes I can make. I am also using the Royal 1/8, but I think it's tip has seen better days...idk, I got a dud Neptune 6 months ago. I need to call for replacements from the companies if a brush is not right, at this stage, but I do love them I know I can learn composition and more about color now, as I have grown comfortable with many techniques YAY! And thank you!

    Very nice. Yes they are called pads. Purple would have been a good contrast because they do turn purple in some areas. Sometimes the whole pad. I'm in Az. Thx for this. I'm just learning.

      PADS yes!! I LOVE the purple variety I see in Southern Utah, I believe the blooms are yellow on those?

    • @bettysmith3878
      @bettysmith3878 6 лет назад

      yes, the color is a bit more common. Also, typically, there are only one layer of petals. Othewise, it's perfect!!!!

    I thought they were called petals too. lol I just found your videos. I enjoy your instruction style. It doesn't seem anxiety stricken for a beginner, but you still teach skills that one can build upon. Thank you.

    Wow! I'm at the studio and can't watch the whole thing right now. I also didn't order the books because I still have the Woodlands one to fill plus I like to make my own drawings and these classical colouring book images do not attract me. However, seeing you paint this image a thought came to my mind: what if you did videos of all the pages in the books? You know, like RUclips channel? I think people, including myself would love to follow along and just relax while doing so. I know you have a busy life, but I just had to send you this feedback. 😘

      Thanks Meda! Great idea! I wish I had more hours in the day! But I can definitely do more page demos here :)

    I would really like a watercolor coloring book that had vignette type illustrations with more white space. I would like to use the illustrations to frame but the pages are too busy. In the meantime I am definitely buying your books Kirsty so I can learn to use watercolors better than my current level.

    • @KristyRice
      @KristyRice  7 лет назад

      Thanks so much! The Kristy's Cutting Garden pages have a lot more white space than the Painterly Days collection. Hope you love!

    Fabulous, thank you! Can't wait to give it a try. Is the Indigo one of the Qor paints? I read somewhere that the Qor paints really push the others away, and wondered how much of the lovely blooming you're getting in the shadows is because of that.

    • @KristyRice
      @KristyRice  7 лет назад

      Yes the indigo I used was Qor and it definitely pushes non-Qor brands out if its way! Also though I'm using a fair amount of water which will up the dynamics of a highly pigmented color of any brand :)

    I love you painting & am learning a lot from you but I have a question about the #10 dagger brush you us, when I follow that link to buy the brush it takes me to a sword liner brush that on has sizes I fractions such as 1/2, 1/4 & so on so which brush should I order?

    • @KristyRice
      @KristyRice  7 лет назад

      Oh my goodness I'm so embarrassed! The link is correct and the size I used in the video is 3/8. I however called out the wrong brush in my video!!! So sorry!

    This is not a criticism at all I promise... I'm just wondering why the coloring books? I'm fairly new with Watercolor painting.... Does this activity help us learn skills? Or is it just for fun? What kind of paper are the pages made of and does it negatively affect the outcome of our hard work? Are these framable? Thank you so much 😊

    • @KristyRice
      @KristyRice  3 года назад

      Practice and fun. The pages are Watercolor paper.

  • @ohbli_oh
    @ohbli_oh 2 года назад +1

    Such a shame your book was printed on such bad paper for watercolour. I had to send mine back. It needs sizing or texture or thickness or one single attribute of watercolour paper. But your art is beautiful and your videos very informative and warm and clever.

    • @KristyRice
      @KristyRice  2 года назад

      Oh no, it is definitely watercolor paper (more of a smooth hot press), not 100% cotton but, $$. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy the paper :(
