I love how on Sweet Time, he goes "I found her!" while the bits of Fresh Static Snow is playing. From Genius lyrics, Porter said this about FSS: "Fresh Static Snow to me, is about this idea that I was really obsessed with my loneliness. About this idea that there necessarily exists a best, romantic partner for every person in the world, somewhere out there. There are billions of people out there and you will only meet a fraction of them, and to me the likelihood that you’ll ever meet a person that will make you that happy is infinitesimal. There’s a very small chance. If you really consider the idea that, that person is out there, exist and is walking, eating their breakfast cereal, looking all cute. And the notion that you will never know each other, made me really sad. And this song was me dedicating something to whoever that person is. Maybe they’ll hear it, how fucking cool will that be?" It's like Sweet Time was a sequel and answer for Fresh Static Snow, very charming.
It is possible that “you” in Fresh Static Snow is Rika since they both found each other online, and Sweet Time has the lyrics said: “But since I met you, I don’t wanna die no more”. So yeah, an apparent connection between Worlds and Nurture is the love he had been looking for years
At Second Sky last year, he played the piano melody for Fresh Static Snow at the end of Blossom, the other song he wrote for Rika. It was just more subtle than this year.
Thanks for recording this! I’m physically disabled and can’t attend big shows like this, so I was selfishly extremely disappointed that he didn’t live stream it this time. Glad I can at least enjoy it via your upload. I’m very grateful
It’s not the same as your situation, but if I had my way, I’d never go to a show in person ever. I wish they’d just let the audio be available for purchase or something. Festivals and shows like this actually prevent people from seeing the art in some ways.
I did see some attendees in an electrical wheelchair around the audience and still able to enjoy the view due to the amount of space the venue had. I'm not saying it's easy, but I do hope it's possible for anyone to experience it live. It really was a magical night and hits so much harder in person.
To @xMarkQ’s point @Pendarr, if you’re dead set on going to Secret Sky festival, both times I’ve gone there was a raised ADA platform and ADA security lines (in the VIP area) so maybe that can increase your confidence in trying to attend next year.
@@chriscarl That is actually pretty cool, thanks for letting me know :) I did figure they have some accommodations, but my own self confidence to attend is certainly a factor as well (not putting that on the show, of course!) But yeah, maybe next time I'll try to get a ticket. :)
As Porter says, this track is sooo underrated. New visuals make it justice. In terms of lyrics it is for sure the best track he has done yet. So much fvcking depth… Aaah im crying 😢
Exactly. I’m happy it got the love it deserved! This song was always my favorite in the album and seeing this live in person was one of the most beautiful feelings ever!
This is what it looks like when someone is truly LIVING for their passion. He's actually having the time of his life on stage and it's awesome to witness
somehow i've never cried to his visuals before (it's not that they don't impact me, i just don't cry very often in general), but the new trying to feel alive visuals is finally the one that got me. as a musician i find myself saying so many of those awful things to myself like it's normal. i compare myself to porter, my idol, too often and tell myself i'm worthless as an artist. then i kinda aimlessly search online for production "tips and tricks" that don't help. but i also have those thrilling moments where i'm on top of the world and feel like nothing can stop me. that's just what that song is really all about - being alive isn't being satisfied. there will always be those down moments, for me recently it's been more down, but there's also those awesome breakthrough moments that make you feel like, maybe this is all worth it. idk maybe i'm just blabbering LOL it's like 11pm but yea those visuals just really hit me
I’m not a musician in any way, but I am an artist of sorts and I COMPLETELY understand this… I think this song can be applied to not just musicians or artists but also just about anybody out there. Life can frickin suck sometimes, but in the end, the meaningful moments make it all worth it. Don’t worry about rambling, there will always be someone out there who can relate (:
1:17:55 I'm so happy to see Porter have Sweet Time and Fresh Static Snow combined together after he found Rika. It gives me hope that we'll all be able to find that special someone in our lives

I am sure there are so many people who can't go to Second Sky this year for a reason or another, and there's no livestream of the event, so we really don't have any way to experience the live show. But we are as big a Porter fan as the next guy, so the fact that you went all the way to capture not only this Porter show, but also the whole event, to upload it on the Internet for people like us, is so so so crazy to me. iPhone 13 Pro Max, "ProMovie" app
ISO 50, 5200K, 0.78 focus, 2x Wide Camera Zoom, Shutter between 60-800
Discussion:
- the Moire effect causing the LED-ness of the presentation to show seems to occur at or above 600 shutter
- you can see me adjusting the exposure from time to time--lights and LED visuals don't expose the same way so a humanly bright light show will still need high exposure to be visible
- audio has NOT been EQ'd like the Madeon Frost set--it's clear that the general public values speed rather than refinement
