Thanks for including the script in the files, Von! I actually had never looked into writing scripts for Illustrator, and surprised how simple the API seems to be! Looking forward to playing with it and writing my own :)
I’ve done that too if requested. Actually the past week I’ve been at LinkedIn Learning HQ recording two new courses and one movie I export out PDF files the same way.
Just to give them more flexibility and to ensure the image quality is nice and crisp. I could probably get away with 300 ppi but I just like to bump it up.
Von... Help me out with the time frame. WHEN do you actually prepare this FINAL presentable? i.e. Do you do it ONLY after the client has approved the final graphics? How often does the client come back and say (something like)... "Looks great, but can we make the bear's antlers orange? IOW, WHEN do you know that you are ready to create the FINAL presentables?
I pouched this content from a new course called ‘Logo Design: Brand Extensions.’ What I present in a comp for each design direction is usually only primary brand assets like a horizontal or vertical format, and an example of how it would work on a dark or photographic background. Which ever direction they choose, and based on their business, product, or service I’ll work out brand extensions like a badge design, iconography, vehicle graphics, brand character etc. My full course has movies covering all of it.

When you do write some could you share with me. Then I could demo it in a movie and share a link if you want to sell it.
@@PPLLUVProcess that’s a great idea! I have a couple of things on my plate but I’ll be sure to let you know when I get around to it :)
Awesome explanation of process. As I’ve been streamlining my own system, this has been a huge help. Thx!
I’m so use to doing it myself it goes pretty quick.
@@PPLLUVProcess I tried Logo Package Express and it works pretty well. I just need to find a method that works better for me.
Thanks for sharing Von!
No problem! 😀 Thank you for watching.
Thank you for this, Von!
Appreciate you watching!
You said you haven't exported files as EPS for 10 years, but how about exporting as PDF (instead of AI or as a complement)?
I’ve done that too if requested. Actually the past week I’ve been at LinkedIn Learning HQ recording two new courses and one movie I export out PDF files the same way.
Hugely helpful video, as always! Why do you export at 400ppi vs 300 for jpgs & pngs?
