I'm in my early 30s', I'm french, and I never heard about that.
I've always seen women wear pants, and nobody ever gives/gave them grief for it.
Could have been some centuries old law that nobody even remembered existed, because nobody cared about such restriction anymore.
But if it was nobody in France noticed it was removed, anymore than they knew it even existed...
No worries they were indeed allowed to I think they just forgot to change the law but nobody cares about it
