  • In this home video interview from January 23, 1983, you see Don Thompson (died May 23, 1994) and his wife Maggie, who had just become the new editors of the weekly comic book collector's magazine Comics Buyer's Guide. You also see their son Stephen Thompson, who today works for NPR. Don and Maggie were founding members of comics and science fiction fandom.

    The son was the one who founded the famous The A.V. Club website in 1993 when he was 20.

    I had not seen this before and it was great! Alan, Don and Maggie were a major part of the 1960's/1970's comic fandom and the Buyer's Guide was my all time favorite publication!
