There’s no debate, Jokic is the MVP. - Denver would be one of the 3-5 worst teams in the NBA without him. Jokic is putting up Wilt Chamberlain type of numbers in today’s game. - do people even realize how special that is!? First time I agree with Perkins.
Denver still has their Championship core of Jokic-Murray-Porter Jr-Gordon. To say that they are one of the worst team even without Jokic is plain false. Nuggets are being dominated in a conference that is being run by sophomores on the Thunder and Rockets. MVP of what?!
@@svengaliUG You are clueless if you think those 3 are somehow incredible players of All-Star caliber. They couldn't beat the Pelicans without Jokic. What does AG do other than dunk? What does MPJ do other than shoot 3s? Jamal Murray is the best out of them but he is the most inconsistent player in NBA history and heavily injury prone. The Nuggets suck when Jokic is not on the court.
@@msk362 Jamal is hard to judge because he plays alot better when he is motivated, under pressure and/or healthy. You can look at his stats in the regular season compared to the play-offs, huge difference in numbers.

there was a guy named Wilt who once put up 50, 26 and still didn't win the MVP because his team wasn't on the top of the standings. MVP is not the player with the best stats, it has always been about the best players on the best teams and Denver is a play-in team right now. If they improve going forward and Jokic keep those numbers he's the obvious choice but right now he does not meet the historical definition of MVP.
Jokic MVP all day. Take AD out of the lakers and they will have a pretty significant drop. if you take Jokic out of the nuggets and they are guaranteed lottery team if you want to use the argument of his value to his team. if you want to talk about team standings, they are 8th seed but that's 3.5 games behind 1st place it's not like the east where 8th seed is 9 games behind 1st.
Jokic is MVP, but people should mention that whenever KD is in the lineup they are near 1st in any conference and with any team iteration. Then he gets injured and his team(s) immediately drop to play-in territory. Then he comes back and they immediately start winning again and rise to the top. I don't know what stat needs to be researched, but I have seen it on several teams and with several injuries. It is sad he is hurt so often.
It’s hard to have an argument against Jokic but I think KD is runner-up to actual most valuable player to his team. When he was out the offense and defense fell off. Clutch time stats got much worse and KD always has such clutch defensive plays at the ends of games that people don’t talk about enough.
When did Steph enter the MVP conversation? Currently I have it: 1. Jokic, 2. AD, 3. SGA, 4. Tatum, 5. Giannis (simply because the Bucks are 8-9, but they’re starting to win some games). I guess Curry could be 6th currently but the Warriors can go 10-11 deep and I don’t think his play has been as impactful on both ends as that of the aforementioned five guys.
It’s the typical he’s the leader of one of the best teams record-wise in the league. If they were 2-15 or whatever and he played the exact same way he is now he wouldn’t be in consideration at all. I can never grasp the actual definition of the MVP award lol
I think JJ has done a great job making the Lakers a top 5 offense and specifically in running their plays through AD (MVP szn well deserved). But AD being a top runner in DPOY while Lakers are 27th in def rtg and AD being 5th in blk leaders (1.9) seems a bit of a stretch. Not knocking on what AD can be defensively, but just based on what we're currently watching. RJ makes a solid point in the Lakers' defense being weak on the perimeter and that is not AD's fault. But by that reasoning, this is why we're not saying Brook Lopez is having a DPOY szn being #2 in blks (2.3) and then just blame their defense on the lack of a POA defender. I think Jalen Williams and Tari Eason deserves to be mentioned in the DPOY convo, both for what they're doing individually (tied for #2 in stl, 2.2) and how they contribute in making their respective teams top 2 in defense.
Come on guys - i know yall saw the stats of the Nuggets when Jokic plays vs when he is out. one of the best teams in the leauge to one of the worst - Therefore he is MVP! :D. 6th place because the rest of the team isnt pulling their weight! If the season ended tomorrow and i had a vote it would go to Jokic! - Loving the episodes guys!
I can see people perceiving the Cavs as more of a team thing, different leading scorer each night, but it's pretty insane how little respect he gets. No mention of any of our several excellent defenders on the #1 defense in the league lol
this show is 50 50. you got channing and richard always killin it and then you got the two who make your ears bleed in Perkins who always stuttering (probably cause he has Lucky's stroodle in his mouth) and cringy Allie (who must be the entire lakers, especially AD's, side piece)
take all the mvps and take them out of their team. who means more to their team than Jokic and not top 5 his 1st in rebounds and 1st in assist and top 3 in pts plays with 0 all star till this day let that sink in. name a superstar that have won a ring without a single all star in their team or a hall of famer.
That’s the stats argument which I’m not saying is wrong that’s just the MVP should be stats based argument. I somewhat agree but I think seeding should play a part. It doesn’t matter if you’re averaging 40-12-11 if you’re on a bad team you can’t win mvp imo. But I also don’t think it should only be a player on a top 2 team in either conference.
Not perk moving the needle for dpoy, you gotta be a playoff team now.Us being in the play in tournament rn over 500 is a big step up already he reaching.6th overall defense in league btw

I've been watching the Milwaukee Bucks play against terrible teams. They've played one team with a winning record in like 10 games. Let's see them string some wins together against actual contenders
I promise you Franz going off the way he is bad for Orlando because when Paulo come back and is looking for his 20 shots those two guys are going to clash , like the Russ and durant situation
Lebron absolutely would not have 8 MVP's under any criteria. The only extra MVP he could have had was the Rose year. But that wasnt even a robbery. The only robberies in the last like 20 years, was Nash robbing Dirk. Giannis robbing Harden and then Embiid robbing Jokic.
First of all, drop AD from this conversation because he's not the best player on the Lakers and the Lakers haven't done much after winning an NBA title 4 or 5 years ago. Steph and Jovic are the proven and real favorites to get MVP if both their teams keep playing well.
