Jake and his love for old school is endearing, but I'm with James all the way. Give me the newest tech, just like the 60" 4K TV, I want modern amenities. Also, no skulls, eagles, or flames thank you.
Engineers have proved Springers OUTPERFORM hydraulic forks in a straight line; not so much in multiple corners. See Matt Laidlaws’ video from last year on Springers. The Softail Springers handle better than the Heritages mainly because of the gyroscopic effect from the heavy wheels on the larger bikes - MORE EFFORT TO COUNTERSTEER!
It looks SO cool. So do springer seats.

I have an 05 injected too , love it , I changed my bars to mini apes , a lot better handling . I think it’s the leverage...
It’s only a problem if you think it is. They ride marvelously.
I'm thinking of purchasing one and this is after 25 years of owning nothing but Harleys from Sportsers to Road King.
Springer front ends have merit. You should of done your homework
I have an 06 Springer Classic, I love it and I'm a Brit, yes the slow speed steering is heavy but that's the nature of a Springer front end. I don't know why people expect Harleys to be anything other than what they are. If you want to go fast and have great handling get a sport bike. I have a 200hp supernaked, for the occasional face melting warp speed blast but actually it's more of a one trick pony than the Springer.
A springer rides awesome.right now just can't afford one.

Just cannot take brits seriously. Especially on harleys. James would absolutely HATE mine. I ride an 09 crossbones with 16" bars, 3" risers of course the springer front and springer seat. Plus I live in the Mark Twain forest of Missouri. I hit twisties for at least 12 miles before I even hit civilization. Not heavy feeling at all.

Both make great points, but the coolness of the bike outweighs the ride ability. This Englishman would probably prefers a 2021 Toyota Corolla over a 1968 Camaro RS/SS too.

OK...having been on a few of them now, I'm actually OK with it...although I kind of wish they hadn't changed it.
Harley dropped the springer front because they couldn’t add abs to it. That’s all....you can bet they’d love to use that front end again. Although, it might look shitty on the new bikes.

Can't believe people struggle with a choke. They wear all the old school gear but have no idea about the machines of the era! If you have fuel injection because you can't start a carb bike wear modern clothes. Then we'll all know who is who, who can and who can't.
Why is the Brit at a Harley shop? Obviously doesn't like the bikes. He should consider sticking to BSA, Norton, Triumph things like that. Oh wait they don't make those anymore because they were junk, my bad.

First off, do your homework!! Heritage Springers don’t have black Springer front ends! So stop fooling yourself!! Heritage Springers have CHROME front ends only and were produced from 97-03. Springer Classic has the BLACK front end only and was produced from 05-07. I cannot believe after all of this time nobody ever bothered to school you on your video!
