This new format kinda sucks, locking out your opponents lines and picking strategically placed tiles was the most fun element of this bingo, now it's just a speedrun race with extra steps
You could by the same argument say it was just rng trying to pick the right square to block which isn’t very fun, don’t disagree though with initial choices maybe being more strategic without instant graces
Throughout the VODs of Bingo Brawlers I've watched, this was my biggest problem. Even when there were still bingos available, the casters and the players were saying "it's already a race for the most squares." Very frustrating to see the bingos just completely gone.
I'm really excited for a new season of bingo! It seems like the format is, unfortunately, a big downgrade from season 2 though. I can see why some of the changes would be necessary to enable 2v2, but it's still disappointing.
Think so? Most of the bingo matches came down to majority, already. The graces should mix up the objectives a little, so some different squares are now the "quick" ones, and result in less time spent just running across the map, overall. I can see the appeal of the line threats, though.
Maybe it is because I am getting old, and wary of new stuff, but at first glance I like the season 2 model more. It seems this is missing many of the mind games, and strategizing that used to be done. This felt more like bum-rushing squares, and hoping to not get sniped I am curious how it actually plays out in the tournament with 2v2 though
I feel like entire point of these graces should be having late game objectives like loretta/malenia/fire giant/kill x bosses in consecrated snowfield/godskin duo/placidusax/maliketh/godfrey/gideon/elden bing, they could remove the captial objectives to let ashen capital be viable. Could also have pre accessible graces in snowfield/haligtree/farum azula so they dont become massive time sinks.
Gotta say I'm not a fan of the new format. No strategy with bingo lines, no figuring out where your opponent is, if he has altus access or map advantage etc. All this is gone, now it's just random items, doing random squares and hoping for the best.
I do like the Graces unlocked strat though. People don’t realize but this team is preparing to make the DLC accessible in these competitions and since Radahn and Mohg (real Mohg) both need to die, there needs to be a way to make getting to that faster or else DLC squares aren’t going to make any appearances
To be fair you can get to mohg and radahn very early. Radahn you just need Altus and mohg you just need a great rune if I remember right so you can do varre's invasion and port to mohg palace
@@saltydog7482 I mean technically yes but you need a Great Rune for Varre to go to Liurnia so you’d have to rush Altus, go to Radahn, go do Varre’s quest, defeat Magnus, get the cloth soaked in dead maidens blood, go back to Varre, port to Mohgwyn Palace, then fight Mohg. Even if you rushed that, killed Makar or rushed Dectus and did nothing but that, that can take a second. How many squares will your opponent get before then? How under levels will you and your weapon be since you did nothing but that? You’d still need to take time to hit Iji for Somber 1-4, grab the 5 before Radahn and then acquire the 6 after Magnus but that is even more running and routing ontop of the other things and that doesn’t include you dying after fighting Radahn under leveled. Your opponent could beat you by then just because you wanted to do a DLC square lol.
@habituallynostalgic6646 both players would have the same squares available to go for. It makes no difference if it takes longer to get them since there should always be squares that are larger commitments. It also provides additional openings for synergy with other squares since surely other squares will overlap with what would be needed to get to mohg or radahn. I agree it could make bingo matches take longer potentially, but I don't think that's really a big deal
@@saltydog7482 yeah I’m not sure if they’d ever extend the 2 hour match period or not. I wouldn’t hate longer matches either. I think trying to go to the DLC would be a bigger commitment then any other late game squares they have ever had. There’s a reason why no one ever goes for the Mohg Lord of Blood Square lol and why even simply Morgott’s Great Rune square and things of equal lengths are saved as last resort majority game squares. While someone full commits to Radahn, Mohg, then DLC then someone else could do a way fast line before the other person could even get half way done lol
No lines, open map and huge amount of work needed for some squares (like 9 talismans, 7 bosses) - all those things turn the whole game into a grind. No snipe races (snipe what? there is literally no possible hints of what an opponent may be targeting), no mind games, it's just boring. It looks like an attempt to balance the game took away the whole spice from it. Weapon randomisation doesn't balance it back enough, especially when the starting classes may have a weapon good enough for the whole game. Some ideas how to make it interesting again: * One must change a weapon (or a spell, if was used) after each square (some added tension to remember to put on a shit weapon when completing non-fighting challenges - a risk of loosing a good gear); * Make fast squares - not 9 talismans, but 3, not 7 bosses, but 2 * Don't remove bingos, wtf?
I've been wondering, how does Aggy use the counters (the little red numbers) on bingosync? I've used the site a bit, but never figured out how to do that
its not that the last season was getting super stale, but it was getting predictable and its hard to get new blood in if they're competing against vets. I'm betting the reluctance to use the bingo lines is because the default strategy switched to not filling them out until the last minute. You can still make predictions its just more based on location and symmetry now, which is what it usually was most of the time anyway.
Flawless way to make the BBH spawn: Step 1: Exhaust the NPC's dialogue. Step 2: Go back to the grace and make it night. Step 3: Talk to the NPC again. Step 4: Warp to the grace. Works on all four locations. Source: I have 10 characters lined up for the DLC. All those characters have defeated all 165 bosses and this method worked every single time I fought a BBH.
Man.. 18:53.. was just thinking back to my first radahn kill, took me 2 days, but I went into this game with no spoilers, never played a soul game before it, i went the extra health weak weapon route. 2 days until the game mechanics finally sunk in.
Once you get torrent a grace in each area unlocks, makes it faster to get squares. Makes it more unpredictable, AND it'll make it more DLC accessible when it comes out
Does Bingosync allow mixing multiple lists of objectives? I recall an old hollow knight tournament having a separate list of "tiebreaker" objectives that were pretty endgame and the bingo board would always generate exactly one of those and 24 more normal objectives, just thought it'd be a cool suggestion specially if you actually want to include farum azula.
Maliketh might be a cool square for that since it locks you out of the Capital you would pretty much have to do it last, or leave any capital squares to your teammate which could come back to bite you
You can put objectives in different tiers and have Bingosync generate a certain amount from each tier, yes. Or maybe it's just that there's a version of the program that tries to make every bingo line the same "score," I haven't used it in a while.
A way to make the new format a little better could be to level-gate the graces you’re given, so you can only use each one once you’re at certain level. Alternatively you buy each one for runes
Yea I noticed that cheese thing when I fought him, that back leg makes him turn funny, problem was that I was a fist user so we just played ring around the Rosie until I ran out of stamina and got slapped
I think you should not get graces in Nokstella, Siofra, etc. if there are not squares related to those locations then why give people who are already good at the game guarantees that it is so easy to go for squares without the worry of being unprepared. Should only give graces in the main 4 over world: Limgrave, Liurnia, Caelid, and Altus.
1:23:43 Aggys spatial awareness game is weak. The hill he was talking about before was behind him when he got to turtle pope. The church is on the next hill over from the one he was saying it was on.
Started to play lies of p, i wish they didn't include the worst enemy design in gaming history that is enemies throwing objects. But they knew what they were doing also.
This new format kinda sucks, locking out your opponents lines and picking strategically placed tiles was the most fun element of this bingo, now it's just a speedrun race with extra steps
BB S3 wont be lockout probably
Agreed, it was a huge part of the strategy, now its pretty much just speedrunning with 0 opponent interaction
You could by the same argument say it was just rng trying to pick the right square to block which isn’t very fun, don’t disagree though with initial choices maybe being more strategic without instant graces
Lmao with every new version they ruin it😂. The classic is the best, why can these people not just see that
@DCDragoCraft ehh I wouldn't say it's rng, I would say it was reading your opponent
The format is weird for 1v1's but i can see it working for teams, prioritizing teamwork over mindgames with the opponent
Ah yes, a new Aggy VOD, just what I needed for a chill painting sesh. ☕
Same hat!
why take out bingo lines? it was the element that created the most suspense
Throughout the VODs of Bingo Brawlers I've watched, this was my biggest problem. Even when there were still bingos available, the casters and the players were saying "it's already a race for the most squares." Very frustrating to see the bingos just completely gone.
Because season 3 will be 2v2 not 1v1. Getting 5 in a row could be so fast that it’s basically unblockable
then: "no plans to play the DLC"
now: "I have played the best DLC of all time"
I'm really excited for a new season of bingo! It seems like the format is, unfortunately, a big downgrade from season 2 though. I can see why some of the changes would be necessary to enable 2v2, but it's still disappointing.

has anyone else noticed aggy slowly acquiring parkys mumble ?
pray for our boy
When you move in with a partner you gradually merge each other's mannerisms. I noticed this when I moved in with my gf and it seems unavoidable lmao

Looking forward to seeing how this new format will work out for s3! Very fun that something changes each season, honestly.

Clutch Gurranq kill I was on the edge of my seat, AND tanking the poison at Gargs!
YES. Can’t wait for bingo practice/tourney season😍

Wait so how does this new open map format work. It didn't seem any different from usual? Any knowers?

Any chance for a fog gate randomizer - Bingo? I like the randomness

Convergence mod Bingo anywhere in the future? A very well done mod, my friend.
Yea I noticed that cheese thing when I fought him, that back leg makes him turn funny, problem was that I was a fist user so we just played ring around the Rosie until I ran out of stamina and got slapped
Is there a square for getting the shackles?
what is the new map format»

I think taking out the lines waters the format down a bit for 1v1, for 2v2 I think I prefer Blackout to Lockout.
I was looking for the perfect video to play in the background, great!
OMG season 3 is coming?
Started to play lies of p, i wish they didn't include the worst enemy design in gaming history that is enemies throwing objects. But they knew what they were doing also.
My favorite part has to be when he said "It's Elden time" and Ringed all over
This format sucks. I hope it's better as a 2v2 format. And also, just get rid of Stormhawk Axe, it ruins every second randomizer race
Womp womp
Btw cestus is pronounces kai-stoos, like how Caesar is pronounced kai-sar, not see-zer
i love elden wing bingoooo
Rahdanculousness
I agree w the take removing bingo lines is lame kinda
This new format is awful. This used to be one of my favorite things to watch.
No audio for anyone else
This format is bad
Sry, but this format sucks…
The format sucks. The dynamism is gone without sniping
Captain Domo!? More like Captain %&$*! Am I rite? XD
i see stormhawk/bloodhound/uchi i skip vid
