Developing countries need to worry about fulfilling the bottom of Mazlow's hierarchy of needs first. In fact all nations should do this. America can start with universal free lunch and breakfasts for students. If you cannot even feed the hungry or have a place where people have good plumbing or safe water why don't you worry about that first for all your citizens before you go worrying about AI. People are going to abuse AI and use it to their benefit because most people in power are Ferengis.

Ai is what will allow for free lunch and safe water. It's about rebuilding our infrastructure from the ground up. Thats what Ai brings to the table. The problem is only wealthy countries have access, where poor countries do not.

Forget developing countries, AI is likely to expand the gap between US/China and all developed nations. There isn't a single European company within the top 20 companies worldwide, and that's mostly because Europe fell behind in IT. If AI has the expected impact on the world economy, Europe probably won't have a company in the world's top 50 in a few decades.

Um AI is great for making ASMR Dakku stickers but it is not good for telling the truth. I don't think AI is as good as everyone is making it out to be. You cannot insure it will be safe or ethical especially right now. Chat GPT can't even know if strawberry has two or 3 r's in it and I stumped it this morning with my son watching and he asked me if I broke it because it actually stopped for quite a few seconds actually it looked like it was thinking and stumbling over words and lagging over this one problem of 2 or 3 r's in strawberry. This comes in the bias assumptions of the program. The program thinks your asking if you spell strawberry with 1 or 2 r's so it spits out the answer that it has 2 r's based on a machine learned bias. When I point out it has 3 r's or prompt it to look at the word as letters rather than the word strawberry it usually says oh it has 3 r's. So, if it has a simple problem with this imagine how much bias is already in the machine learning already. It is already poisoned. They need to seriously overhaul how it learns. I would not use Chat gpt for any serious writing task. It is not reliable but it does make good cocktail party fodder or Fluff news pieces.

Ai makes decisions without human input. It's much more than just silly videos and chat prompts. You have no idea.

That reduces the data. You would think Ai would want technology in more hands, not less.

It worries me how rapidly hi Tech is moving and how slow those who promote its use are to see and identify the danger we have access to technology that can be so helpful, but we ignore all the dangers ethics freedom of speech the ability to be informed we have so much access and so little knowledge to secure our selves and our homes from the technology we use and now AI well it brings a whole new danger

100+ countries are not part of the official conversation? Absurd. For $30/month you can have the best AI. For free you can hear cutting edge use cases. The inclusiveness complaint is overstated. And yes this is going to generate a ton of CO2...or exa-ton or whichever Greek prefix means an unimaginable amount.

This is such a silly title. Thats literally the point of all investment ever - to grow the wealth of those investing. What do ppl think AI is? They arent free workers, they are more like a labor market thats only valuable with direction, management, and investment. AI without a mature economy is like exporting MBAs to sub-saharan africa. Why do people try to nationalize things before they're even usable. Remove the incentives to develop AI, and investors will just do something where they keep their profits.

AI is not really intelligent though. It cannot discern what was not working right with old applications it is trying to run like as though it's fine when it is the same inaccessible mess people tried to pass off ten years ago and frankly breaking money businesses that were working for a large set of users three months ago but have regressed to unusable like a decade ago again.
