@@RIOBTN i just did the San-hnl flights on a Luv max 8 a few weeks ago. Only problem was it departed at 7pm so no good videos. I agree it be awesome if Skylight can capture a daylight flight
2 Hawaii flights in one week, what a treat ! Waikiki is always beautiful. I'm always amazed at how BLUE the Pacific ocean is near the island. And the Disney Wonder sitting at the San Diego pier awaiting her sailing orders.
Nice video! Between the marshaller trying to stay in the shade with the baggage cart at 3:38 and the marshaller slow walking the plane in at 4:12:55, I was laughing so hard lol.
I'm flying to San Diego for the first time next month, although not from Hawaii! Very cool to get a preview of what it's like...AND I picked a window seat on the left side, so hope that's the RIGHT side! (Flying on Alaska's MAX 9.) 🙂
@@shutterbugshirlstravels long as yall don't land from the ocean side (which is really rare) you are gonna be in for quite the show! So when the mountains start getting closer and closer as you decend get your camera out!
A friend of mine goes back and forth to the islands. He's a first responder/ Hazmat. They're still trying to clean up the fuel dumps at Pearl Harbor. It's quite a mess still.
RUclips's algorithm decided that I needed to see this video, so I did. Great views of HNL taking all and equally good views of SAN coming in. I confess that I've never been to San Diego at all. Los Angeles, yes, but SAN, no. Now, I need to rest up from the jet lag from watching this eastward flight video.
San Diego is well worth a visit. I will admit though, it can be quite expensive to spend time in San Diego. It’s one of those, everyone wants to visit, type of places and prices reflect it haha.
I have a new favorite HNL departure vid now. So many of the small details and sightings that I watch for were there. I was wondering why the ramp agent was wing walking by driving a belt loader, but, man, that was a long-ass pushback, so I understand now. Two F-22s as an added bonus. I hope the weather is as good when I'm there in Feb.
Well, they're not always as smooth as they appear. The built in stabilization on my camera makes even rough and windy conditions look pretty smooth. But, that said, this was a smooth flight. I've had some pretty rough flights over the Pacific before. Especially during the winter months. Thanks for watching my friend!
Wow! Awesome views are amazing, touch in my heart. Really i am speechless and spellbound. It is spectacular flight from start to finish. Beautiful takeoff and landing. Full of enjoying, thanks.
Thanks my friend. I've visited a lot of places. You can see every flight I've taken since 2010 by visiting my flightradar page. my.flightradar24.com/sla31
Wow this brings back memories. LOL! I really like the Max. Glad I got to experience one on this route albeit the other direction with an entire row...(both sides of the aisle)...all to myself. I think Southwest snack packs on the Hawaii routes are a crime by the way!!! LOL This one and your HNL-PHX Max flights are my favorite vids from you...Only after that last minute go around and diversion in the storm at Joplin. Keep up the good work! SN have you done/posted the United island hopper with full flights yet??
Thanks my friend! I haven't done any United island hopper flights. It's been on my list for along time. I was about to, when Covid hit. Still haven't ever gotten around to looking into it again.
Gone are the days of spacious widebodies. At least I'm fortunate to have done that trip on both large trijets AND the 47 numerous times. Always well documented.
Although a lot of flights to Hawaii are now operated by 737's, 757's and A321's, there are still plenty of wide bodies to choose from. Hawaiian offers A330 service from many of their cities, American flies 777's and 787's to Hawaii, and Delta & United both operate a wide variety of 767's, 777's, 787's, and A330's to Hawaii. They're still there, just not as many as there used to be. Thanks for watching my friend!
Looks like DX12 is going to make MSFS2020 great! Graphics on ultra throughout! Kidding aside, great video! I'm not really a fan of the new CFM LEAP engines but I guess progress is progress...👍
Lots of practice. Holding the camera by hand provides the best shot possible. Often times there are too many vibrations to use mounts. You could I guess, but it then looks like you're filming through a bowl of clear jello. As FlyInfinite suggests, I do not use any type of mount. I also film with iPhones, not GoPros. In fact, Southwest doesn't allow passengers to attach mounts to their aircraft, so I couldn't have even if I wanted to.
It does/will if I'm sitting on the hard light side of the plane. In other words, the side that's looking directly at the sun. As long as I'm on the soft light side, it's fine. That's why the seat I pick is so important. I use a site called suncalc.org to determine where the sun will be in the sky for every flight I take. I then reference this with the seats that are available to pick the best seats possible on every flight. I've said this before, but it's worth saying again. I don't just fly all over the country all the time with no worries. A lot of planning goes into every flight you see on the channel. Sometimes months in advance.
Well, I travel with one of these: www.rammount.com/part/RAM-B-166-UN7U But, I don't use it on flights. I hold the camera by hand on flights. I only use the mount for airport time-lapses.
