I just picked up my first PCX, a 2018! Mitch doesn't specify the oil brand he uses in his video, but it's worth noting that the Honda manual just had basic requirements. 10/30 basically. Wondering if basic mineral based 10/30 is cool for a newish 2300mi PCX..

Hi Christos, can you explain why yours failed? I have been using 10w-40 in my Burgman 400 with 63,000 miles since 0miles I bought in 2007 it has zero problem. I put 10w-40 in all scooters that manual recommended never have problems.
@@hasann1453 According to my research and i also have scooter. gear oil has ep(extreme pressure additive), and much viscous than engine oil. It also has dithiocarbamate derivatives and sulfur-treated organic compounds which an engine oil dont have. Engine oil cannot be a substitute for gear oil.

Your oil quality looks good! Don't waste money! Only replace if your bike deep in water - if not just adding. This kind of old just reduce quality after 7, 8 years!

@@audiophilipp In transmissions used with 80W90 oil for a long time, the gap between the gears will increase as the gears are worn. When you put 10W30 engine oil in the gearbox that has worked like this for a long time, it may make a noise. There is no sound in Forza 350, everything is as it should be. Already in the running-in maintenance of your new engine, you will see that the factory puts 10W30 oil in the engine and transmission. I've done 100,000km with my other Honda scooters and have had no issues or noise.

Using Sae 10/30 oil here is not appropriate, the possibility of leakage from o-rings and seals is very high, and at the same time, noise and deterioration of gears and balls are likely in a short time. FOR YOUR INFORMATION.
I have been doing this for many many years with Hondas and Suzuki they say 10/30 in manual, zero issues. My burgman 400 using 10/40 and I put 62,000 miles on it, no problem.
@@MitchsScooterStuff It's really incredible. I've been a master for years. However, in all engines using 10/30 Transoil in Turkey, we encountered bearing noise and gear whining noise. I've been using a quality SAE 80/90 oil in my own engine and all the engines I produce for many years and believe me, I don't experience such problems. HONDA authorized services in Turkey also use SAE 80/90 Gear Oil. I follow your videos and find them quite successful. I eagerly await your further videos.
Hahaha I love my 400, I don’t need more power, 400 is enough for me, I have it since 2007 and still love it. I rode my friend’s 650 and feel like don’t need it... also where I live speed limit is 55, I live on an island

All roads lead to the Honda PCX. I had a Helix and Elite 150. Now I have a PCX because it is reliable and reaches into the future.

You won't need spares. But buy a selection kit of copper washers!
