I would have liked to see more of the rooms (panning out), rather than just the details; I like to see the WHOLE room, and THEN the details. The camera work in the video had more of the two of you TELLING US how beautiful/cute things were (and how they worked together) instead of simply LETTING US SEE. We don't have to be told how beautiful it is, as it is obvious! Your attention to detail is really loving and lovely! You did a spectacular job. That is a LOT of work!! You can be very proud of the finished house!
You guys nailed the Parisian look and I don't think your audience (that doesn't experience this daily) truly realizes the level of sophistication and realism you achieved in this design. I live in the 9th in an Haussmannian apartment that we renovated last year. You nailed ALL the details. Chevron oak in mat finish, the light fixtures, the wall mounted plumbing fixtures in brass, the electrical switches and outlets (brass is a must and I'm glad you convinced your clients $), door hardware, resin moldings, even the black wall built-in with desk is what is common here. The paint color and finish on the window moldings is great. I also appreciate the use of the shutters (even if you had to put them inside - the homage to the original use in Paris on the exterior) as an essential Parisian element. Even the iron work made me think of my own and neighbors balconies. White, black, gold and oak - this designed isn't just a home run, it is a grand slam.
Wow! Thank you SO much for this kind comment. It means the world to us to know our hard work is recognized this way :) Thanks for being here and for seeing us!!!
I really loved the things that you guys did in this house. I just wish the person doing the video would have panned out to show us the rooms in its entirety instead of short glimpses !
I am utterly in love with everything you did in this beautiful home. Thank you not only for sharing this with us, but also, for honoring the history of the home.
Absolutely love the details in this! My favorites are the chevron floors, the Parisian inspired windows and trim throughout and finally the creativity of the tile work…each bathroom looked so unique…finally, I do want to confirm that the plural of radius is radii (per Alexa😂)…congratulations on making another family happy 🙌🏿
The lighting choices in this home are so darn good! Love the restoration of the original features like the stairs and front door etc. This home is the perfect balance of Old and New. So light and airy. Its stunning. Great job.
Absolutely fantastic! It adds a nice touch to have a Chevron floor as something different you don't see in every home. All that tile work.......... Beautiful. Always glad to get one of your videos you guys are just amazing. Thanks again for sharing another beautiful home how do you put your hearts into❤
Very beautiful guys!! If you would consider adding the paint, marble & tile names + brands on the screen when you show / name them that would be so helpful for your viewers! We can screenshot and save to our phones for future reference! ❤❤
Great idea for future videos! :) In the meantime, keep an eye out in the next week or two for a big blog post with names, links, and all that jazz!! We'll post about it on Instagram!
There’s a part of that house where minor detailing, such as the use of caulking, could have improved the end result. Overall, I loved it. Great job, guys! Love your content-keep it coming. ❤
Amazing. This Brownstone is beyond fantastic. What a wonderful job you did. Seeing the before and after was such a treat. Marrying Parisian with N.Y.C. architecture was ingenious. Thank you for sharing your vision.
This house has such a beautiful flow and the details are amazing. The only thing I would change is to have a stool facing the window on the kitchen island, only so I don’t have to turn my head to look out and for conversations. You are doing wonderful projects, you should be so proud. 👏🏻 ❤😊 🇨🇦
I literally waited a whole year for this, thanks guys!! Oh, you both have done a beautiful job on this parisienne remodel. Good luck on your next masterpiece.
Thank you! We lovvveee the color in the den (Grove Green by Farrow and Ball). Color drenching has got to be one of our favorite design trends right now! thanks for watching!
Not in this project! We wanted to get the most space we could for the kitchen, so we opted to put the full bath on the garden floor and utilize space differently in the parlor!
The exterior in this case was actually in pretty good condition! We didn’t have to do anything to the front facade-- but in the back where we put the French doors, we had to put in a steel lintel, remove all the brick underneath, then fill back in around the doors with new brick. Then we applied a plaster finish on the rear facade!
Didn’t get a sense of the rooms in this house. Saw a lot of plaster corners and walls but not much of the rooms and furniture and light and shadow. The look of the house wasn’t detailed in the rooms themselves but it’s a lovely home
You could say this about any neighborhood pretty much. New York has a housing crisis and we're not building nearly enough to keep up. That's gonna keep stuff expensive. Though I will say, when people take a multi-family home and convert it into a huge luxurious single family just so they can have a "primary suite..." that's not helping.
@@BrownstoneBoys I enjoy all of your houses. Everyone has it's own character, never cookie cutter, elegantly bold enough to stand the test of time. Not to mention the quality of the product. Buster and Punch switches ... the blended air ducts ... all timeless. Again. Thank you for sharing. Inspiring!
As a Parisian owner, there is nothing Parisian about this. The iron railings are wrong. There is one specific fireplace type. Colours are awful and clash. Downstairs makes no sense. Overall, it would need a complete overhaul. So sad for owners. 1 bedroom?? Zellige tiles are nice. Especially the blue. Never create a stripe with these, though.
All those light fixtures look cheesy. You are in New York, there are thousands of antique and vintage options that are more substantial and less cheap looking than the ones chosen. It's a little disappointing to see these choices coming from you two. Do better.

@@sandrazwaduk9164 Yes! WHILE we are seeing the details they're talking about.
Good critique. I agree with this. I enjoyed the video less for this reason.

anything original that we don't keep in our client's homes gets saved and repurposed! either in another project of ours or in the community :)

timeless except for every cheap looking light fixture.

School house white looks similar to simply white from Behr
imagine having this discussion,

"Jardin Carroll" (If you're going to give it the French name, 'Jardin' comes first, before 'Carroll').
