Great demo lesson, nice pace.
Hello,
Can you tell me please, where did you buy your Ebony Pickguard for your D'angelico; I'm searching for one of this online but I can't find anything.
I need this because I have to change the pick up of my D'angelico EXL.- with your same pick up:)
Thanks a lot.
A "floating" pickup doesn't touch the top of the guitar. It's usually attached via a small bracket either to the pickguard or the end of the neck. By a "normal" pickup, you're referring to what's known as a "routed" pickup, meaning that there's a hole cut in the top of the guitar and the pickup is screwed right onto the face of the guitar. There are pros and cons to both type pickup. Do a little google search for "routed vs. floating pickup" and I'm sure you'll find a lot of opinions.
Sorry for the slow response. The guitar is a D'Angelico 16" with a floating pickup. This one's been modified a bit as I didn't care for the sound of the original floating picking and the plastic pick-guard was a bit flimsy. I had a new pick-guard made out of ebony and had a Kent Armstrong floating humbucker attached to it.
Thanks you!
whats the difference between a floating and normal pickup?
sorry, still learning my ways of the jazz guitar
thankyou sir
What is that delicious guitar you wield?
No tone from that guitar.
