  • Shou Sugi Ban (焼杉板) is a Japanese woodworking preservation technique, that dates back to the 18th century. The wood is burned, and this preserves the wood by making it resistant to sunlight, water, and fire. The process also brings out the wood grains texture in a way other finishes cannot. When combined with brightly colored stains, the result turned out to be fantastic!
    There are various methods to explore with Shou Sugi Ban Yakisugi, depending on your creativity, and each will produce different set of results!
    OtterGel is unlike any liquid stain, available in 45 colors. It is very easy to apply, ni skilled labor is required. It is ideal for vertical wood surfaces. As a colored foundation compatible with all types of lacquers, P.U., N.C. and Acrylic, etc. bit.ly/3imruwl

    Can I do this after I already put a layer of tung oil my Yukisugi'ed boards? I ask because I really like this white wash....

    • @ATKCeWarehouse
      @ATKCeWarehouse  3 года назад

      No recommended. You might need to wipe it clean and sand off the layer of tung oil.

    Otter gel is not sold in the US! Can I use any gel white wash! The one I got is too liquidy and it didn’t really turn out well! Ty

      You may try. I believe the secret is in the wiping time. Or you may try dip the cloth into the liquid stain and wipe it.
