This is just wrong. FSU earned a place in the CFP. The CFP Committee has no class or credibility. Incredible effort by FSU this year. Congratulations to you coach and to the staff and players. Go Noles.

I am Lifetime University of Memphis fan and season ticket, one of our saddest days is when Coach Norvell left to go to FSU before our Cotton Bowl appearance. Not bitter, Coach Norvell is the classiest coach in the NCAA, My heart breaks for him, the fans, and the kids. They truly got the shaft Today. I know Coach Norvell and will use this as Fire to win the Orange Bowl. Good luck to FSU and their Fan Base!

If it was me... I'd do this: I would call the Georgia coach first, and confirm... for 100% certainty.... they are playing all their starters and not benching the guys going into the NFL. If he agrees to play everyone, I play everyone too.
If he plans on sitting some guys, this means there will be excuses even if FSU wins. So... I'd say I'm gonna show up, drive down there, walk in the field, flick everyone off, and drive back. Don't even play. Waste everyone's time and money.
Now, if he agrees to play all the starters, we show up, play, and give it everything to see who is really best. If Georgia wins, well, I can shut up cause the committee got it right. If FSU wins by more than Bama, I would smash the Orange Bowl trophy the instant they present it to us, shatter it to pieces on live TV, put shirts on our players that say "real championship winner" and "fraud". March around the field, then drive out. Scorched earth.

LSU fan here. I’m absolutely furious on your behalf, FSU. I had to take a mental health day and keep my kid home from school after the FSU season opener. While we were out hiking, I was really thinking that I couldn’t see how the final would be anyone other than FSU and this team could beat Georgia.… I assumed Georgia would cakewalk to the cfp. I do think this will be a good game and considering what I have seen this team do already, I think FSU will be more than prepared to show everyone exactly wtf they can do with a backup QB from Valdosta Georgia.
I hate this for FSU fans and the players. I hate it for Coach Norvell. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a player go through a series of events that are as unfair as those Jordan Travis faced. I don’t even know how to process it, so I can’t imagine what he is going through.
I just want y’all to know that I don’t know a single SEC fan, player, or coach - aside from shameless Gump Homers - who wanted to see Alabama in ahead of y’all. I just don’t know what in the hell we’re doing. How do you not include a 13-0 ACC Champ? Makes no sense at all.
I’ve been thinking all day that there have to be changes made after this. We need answers and we need more transparency and continuity in this process. I know we’re going to a 12 team playoff, but bffr… we went through this same crap with the BCS. Unless it is addressed, it will not be corrected. When the Mitchell Report came out about baseball, Bud Selig had asked Mitchell to oversee the investigation, but it was sort of nonsensical - didn’t have subpoena power. So, make sure any investigation does what the NCAA can’t - have subpoena power. Right now, we have MULTIPLE bills in both the US house and senate to address the new NIL landscape. The CFP is also a business, the NY6 bowls are business. These are interstate businesses, so in the jurisdiction of commerce laws. Get on the phone with your representatives - particularly those with a connection to FSU. Call representatives and senators who played ball in the past. Manchin, Booker, Allred… there should be bipartisan support for fixing this. The selection committee had to choose between 2 teams - Texas and Alabama - so, FSU and the entire country need a reason as to why a 13-0 ACC Champ was left out.

From an FSU alum, and obviously a diehard forever FSU fan, you ma’am, are a true class act for your words, and support of FSU. This is a travesty that FSU has been horribly snubbed and scrubbed from a chance to play for a national championship. LSUs football program is top notch, and every time our two teams meet, I know it’s gonna be a battle. I will forever have even more respect for LSU due to your unselfish support of FSU. FSU is and remains unconquered, and the CFP committee defeated FSU when no college football team on their schedule this year could. And that is just sad. I know they aren’t, but they should be completely ashamed of themselves. Thank you again for your support of FSU. I like Georgia too, as I grew up in GA, but moved to FL and graduated from FSU, and that’s MY TEAM. I love my coach! Coach Norvell is an amazing coach he turned FSU around and built an amazing culture in Tallahassee! With that being said I have a lot of respect for coach Smart as well he's another class act coach and I believe this will be the best Orange Bowl game I've ever watched! Go Noles
Not an FSU fan but this could have been devastating to recruiting if the 12 team playoff didn't come to fruition. Imagine if you are a HS player and you see that a team that goes undefeated still get left out because they aren't a bigger name than Alabama. ESPN and the CFP are pretty much recruiting for the SEC.
Not gonna lie I still think it’s devastating because now everyone knows if I go to the ACC there’s no guarantee I get into the playoffs even if I go undefeated. Now if I lose 1 game even with top 12 I could still get left out. The CFP and ESPN just trying there best to eliminate FSU and the ACC, in my opinion the 12 team just saved the ACC cause all the teams woulda left immediately learning about going undefeated from my conference now will not guarantee a playoff spot. The SEC has ZERO undefeated teams and gets to go over an Undefeated ACC, it just shows the love the SEC gets and will definitely lead to the ACC downfall and probable breakup

Auburn vs Bama is a different beast, on rivalry week every team across the nation gets up and goes beyond their record/ ranking to fight hard and that game is always a fight. Auburn could’ve put the tide away…. But they didn’t, Bama won and that’s that. Michigan would much rather play FSU because they know it would be a much easier game. The four best teams at the end of the year were chosen. Bama had the 5th hardest schedule FSU had the 55th hardest schedule. FSU beat a weak Clemson team, a 3 loss LSU team and a sub par Florida team. Bamas ranked wins include ole miss, LSU, Tennessee, and #1 Georgia.

I’m a Hokie and I’m PO’ed. FSU and Seminole nation deserved to be in the CFP. They earned it on the field! Heart breaks for FSU players and fans. I’m a year when the ACC had a winning record against the P5 and FSU was 2-0 against the SEC, there is no logical excuse not to include FSU.
Liberty should be in the top 4 as well.
They punished us for Travis being hurt. Hopefully will have a great game against the Dawgs and prove our worth. I'm a Nole Fan with all my heart but have always loved the Hokies and coach Beamer.
Did the Liberty Flames also deserve to be in the CFP? They went 13-0. Conference USA isn't that much different than the ACC. Strength of schedule and how you finish the season matters. FSU looked progressively worse as the season went along.
It's disrespect to all of the ACC. There needs to be an investigation, because this SEC bias has been going on for decades. We all knew it and now there is 100% proof.

Talk about getting screwed. This has to be a nightmare for FSU. Not only do you get left out of the CFP but you get matched up with what’s likely the BEST team in the nation. And I say that as an Alabama fan. I feel for FSU fans, you guys deserved to get in the CFP and I know this won’t make you feel any better about the situation, but if Florida State beats Georgia everyone will know without a doubt that Florida State deserved to be in the CFP and no matter who wins the CFP it’ll be tainted, which includes my own team Alabama. Thank god this is the last year of 4 team playoff. FSU is the greatest injustice, but for UGA running the table in the regular season being nullified by coming up *just* short against Alabama is rough. Next year and moving forward, there will be heavy disagreements over who should’ve gotten in at 11 or 12. But we won’t be leaving out great teams for making microscopic mistakes or god forbid, injuries outside of their control.

The opt outs for this game is going to be numerous and I totally agree with it 100% especially for FSU
Players came back this year and they could have been Drafted last year. They came back because they believe in Norvell and knew they were good enough to go undefeated. Then finds out the system is set up so they never had a chance to win a National championship. They are going to opt out. If i was Norvell , i would tell them thank you for believing in me and the program, now its your time to do whats best for you.
I'm a Dawg fan and I am not super happy today about how they played last night. I am more upset about how FSU got SCREWED out of a playoff spot. So what if they don't have their star QB, they still went out and won games despite that. I feel really bad for the seniors. This was their shot, and those a-holes took it away just because they can't get off of alabama's nuts.
I feel bad for FSU but do you really think a third string qb would make them a good opponent for anyone in the playoff? They were only able to score 16 on Louisville

FSU has one of the better running back rooms in the country. It amazes me that for years that was why Alabama and UGA was complimented for having. Run game and great defense was considered a national champion contender until FSU
We went 13-0 and won the ACC Championship! They got us playing in the Capital one almost but not quite good enough bowl. I'm sick to my stomach 😖.. On the bright side this game can kick start the program back into national prominence, similar to the 2013 Orange bowl win over Northern Illinois came back and won the chip with a new QB the next year.

If it was me... I'd do this: I would call the Georgia coach first, and confirm... for 100% certainty.... they are playing all their starters and not benching the guys going into the NFL. If he agrees to play everyone, I play everyone too.
If he plans on sitting some guys, this means there will be excuses even if FSU wins. So... I'd say I'm gonna show up, drive down there, walk in the field, flick everyone off, and drive back. Don't even play. Waste everyone's time and money.
Now, if he agrees to play all the starters, we show up, play, and give it everything to see who is really best. If Georgia wins, well, I can shut up cause the committee got it right. If FSU wins by more than Bama, I would smash the Orange Bowl trophy the instant they present it to us, shatter it to pieces on live TV, put shirts on our players that say "real championship winner" and "fraud". March around the field, then drive out.

Focus on the program here guys......
1) Take the payday....for the program.
2) Use the extra practices.....for the program.
3) Take all the 3rd-4th string guys and walk-ons, and for the program, let them play from opening kickoff to final whistle. Announce it a few weeks ahead of time and describe it as getting a jump on spring ball and rewarding the unsung heroes. I don't think this has ever been done, and it would make a statement in several ways. Most of all.....and it gives you a lump in your throat, those guys that got beat up and thumped on all year (or 2 or 3) in practice would have 4 quarters on national television, and they'd never forget it for the rest of their lives. Run a bunch of prevent, lots of gimmicks on both sides of the ball, and have fun with it. Go down in history as the team that wouldn't be conquered, who refused to fight for scraps at a banquet we should have been part of, and did something triumphant, all while advancing the program.
Playing this one straight with the best of our players that aren't sitting out vs the best of theirs that aren't really doesn't do much for anyone. A win will be ignored and a loss would be used to pile-on the by the "I told you so" clowns.
You can't put Jared verse - Brandon Fisk - not even Benson - damn sure not glenn, into a fuckn meaningless game. These kids need to have health for the NFL & the following season.

Yep! 13-0 Atlantic Coast Conference Champion Florida State is OUT of the playoff picture. The Powers-to-Be decided that, without their starting quarterback, the Seminoles do not belong playing the likes of Michigan, Washington or Texas and, therefore, healthy 12-1 SEC Champion Alabama will take their place.
I didn't know that injuries played any part in selecting the 4 playoff teams. But I do now. And I also know that the playoff committee is corrupted after dissing Florida State like this.

When UGA lost I knew we weren't going to be in it because the CFP couldn't possibly not have an SEC team in the playoffs, ESPN wouldn't allow it...the loss to TV revenue would be unacceptable.

As a 54 year Bama fan much respect to both coaches for realizing that this game is still important for both programs. As a Bama fan i also remember getting left out the championship just last year. Hopefully they are just rumors about filling lawsuits against the committee and holding up bowl games.
One good thing to come out of it might be no more Mr. Nice Guy from Coach Norvell anymore when we are up big on teams. Next year he's gonna be going fast and throwing for tds when we are up 50 on an opponent and there's 2 minutes left, and I'm here for it. I hope we run up the score every chance we get because ya know, "We felt like we needed to do that so we don't get left out of the 12 team playoffs."

FSU could make the ACC a one team conference. Clemson doesn't have it's fast twitch muscle supplements any more and look at them since the beat down they gave AL(with supplements present until before the game), down hill. UL played so poorly you would think it was their 3rd game of the year. Miami? no proof of anything. Elko just left Duke. UNC, ok they might be the next most consistent team. The rest of the ACC... who are they? Yeah I know but...

Yea, honestly instead of boycotting our own bowl game. We need to go win. Boycott the CFP games, and then seek legal action against them for damages. It’s a loss of revenue and can hurt recruitment.

That shows you why FSU was left out of the CFP. They wanted to play a limping dog, but got a bloodhound instead. It sucks for the players, but the playoffs is all about the best-on-best right **now**.

Not that many people care, Florida Panhandle man. Free Shoes University isn't even the most popular team in your state. This is the equivalent of Georgia Tech, Auburn, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, or Oklahoma State not making it in (a 13-0 Auburn didn't make it into the BCS one year). So, join the club. No one really cares. Have all the pity parties you want, you'll be in the minority.
The orange bowl is not the National Championship. FSU should decline the invite. Next year won't be any better. The title is now for sale!
I can understand FSU outrage, but i still believe Georgia was hosed as much as any team. Imo, Georgia has done too much winning the last 3 years and on a 29 game streak, to have 1 hiccup in the SEC championship, be enough to knock you off the top 4 ,goin for a 3 peat is tough. Always was a huge fan of JT even before he got to college and argued daily with fsu fans who doubted him that he was always the answer. Super proud of him. All respect to fsu entire team even after the JT injury you guys emotionally kept things under control which says a lot about the mindset Norvell has installed. I could only wish my team could play the same. While I do understand why the committee did what they did especially after the last 6 games of the season. Weren’t top 4 level performances. This team overall deserved the opportunity because at the end of the day it’s about winning and they did that. Use this as motivation let’s get these Florida teams back on the map. Keep yall head up. Don’t keep looking back just lock in for Georgia and prove why you should’ve been in the playoffs.

I was looking at the selection and I was hurt for them.Having to play a game with the 3rd string qb and win the conference title should have been impressive enough.It's not a acc thing.
