Norvell could have sat Jordan Travis for the North Alabama game. What an absolutely foolish way to throw away your season. His hubris got the better of him.
As a Miami grad I hate Florida St but basically you just told 85 other players that all their hard work does not matter because of 1 injury. That is tough.
Who tf did they have to play? Same can be said for Georgia too during the season. These cake walk asz schedules. Bama had to play Texas LSU Ole Miss Auburn Tennessee then get past Georgia that’s a gauntlet
@@21alexx77 lol your point? You had to have a wing and a prayer to beat Auburn. FSU should be I'm based on they have the better record. I hope Michigan destroys Bama and makes the panel look stupid
This what I don't understand: if everyone knew FSU was not a top 4 team post-Travis injury, why did the Committee consistently rank them top 4 weekly? FSU is not a different team than from 2 weeks ago. Yet, they were ranked then. So, what's changed in the last few weeks? Did FSU lose or something? No, what change is that UGA lost, and God forbid the SEC industrial complex be left out of the CFP.
Because they gave FSU a chance to show that they are the same team. Unfortunately, they're not. QB situation was devastating. They can't beat the top four. That's why. Edit: I hope we all still believe in common sense, right. All the arguments are valid, but I think common sense prevailed in this unusual scenario.

Exactly. I’m not mad at the choices. I’m mad that they were limited to 4 choices with 5 major conferences and some other highly competitive teams on the outside looking in. The format is garbage and should have been 8 to 12 teams from the start with auto bids for conference champs

The ONLY team FSU lost to this season is the CFP Selection Committee! The CFP, Corrigan, Herbstreit and the ESPN analysts are saying FSU didn't earn a playoff spot since losing their QB1. Booger-mac is the only one who got it right. This is not about one person or what a committee of "experts" thinks. It's about coaches bringing together a group of young men, teaching them how to win as a team, being their best version on and off the field, and motivating them with a roadmap for success: win all your games, win the conference championship and earn a spot to play for the national title. Those are the "rules" and rules matter! But, just like lots of other things that folks are getting tired of - politics, greed, money, and cronyism destroyed college football. What the CFP did to these young players is unconscionable! What happens if a top four team's QB1 gets the flu and can't play January 1st - will the CFP replace them with FSU?
@@tider77ah yes, the weak conference that has a winning record over the SEC this year. Not to mention FSU being 2-0 against SEC teams. It’s not abt the teams anymore, it’s abt the image. Publicity ≠ Good Conference
The argument for Bama is that what happened two months ago is no big deal. But what happened two decades ago is relevant to THIS year. The Conference. The Championships. Ohio St won the first playoff and beat Bama in 2015 with a back-up QB. An entire team is screwed because ONE PLAYER can't play? BS. Total BS. FSU got screwed and it's all politics. Everybody knows that EVERYTHING is corrupt. So quit lying.
@@larry2281stop looking at FSUs offense and Jordan Travis and saying "they're not the same team" like Booger said you can play outstanding defense and win football is not just about offense. What we have learned today is that college football playoffs are decided at a desk, not on the field. Performance on the field over a total season counts for nothing
This year, to me, killed the sport entirely. It really solidifies the path that college football is going down, and it is not a good one. It has become a semi-professional ball where you are either a part of an exclusive elite club (SEC or Big 10) or not. The age of traditions, pageantry, and playing for school/community pride is effectively over, and it was killed by the greed of the conferences and the media networks like ESPN/Disney.

Disappointed how much Rece, Joey, and Greg defended one of the worst decisions in CFP history. Proud of Booger for calling everyone out on their bs and saying what everyone is thinking
If FSU is a different team why rank them number 4 on Tuesday? How can you say they are a different team from the ACC conference champion when they beat an SEC and won the ACC championship as this very team being evaluated. Not an FSU fan, but the philosophy of this decision is beyond flawed because if this was Alabama this wouldn't be a discussion. An Alabama led team with Tyler Buchner would still get in and we saw what he looked like. If FSU ends up 14-0 this'll be a really tough thing to explain in posterity.
"philosophy of this decision is beyond flawed" You don't know what the philosophy of the decision is so you can't criticize their philosophy. Snif Sniff ... You forgot the sniffs.
I was curious about the #4 ranking before today as well. But I think it came down to a chance the committee was giving them before the ACC championship game. If FSU had blown out Louisville, they'd be in, but they struggled against a terrible team.
This is the problem I have as well! They beat a 10 win 14th ranked team by double digits. How did Texas’s win over OK St make them better all of a sudden? If this was their reasoning they should have had FSU out of the top 4 already.
6:40 "It's ok to win with DEFENSE, it's ok to have a dominant defense and win a football game. It doesn't ALWAYS have to be scoring 50 or 60 points." PREACH IT, BOOGER! Thanks for speaking for those of us who enjoy BOTH sides of a football game, not just high powered and protected offenses. Heart's out to FSU, this is a bs selection.
Alabama’s best win = against the 29 game wining streak, two-time defending champion. SOS = 5 FSU best win = LSU. SOS = 55 None of you argued for Boise state all those years playing an eater d down schedule. You then made a “power 5 argument:”. Fair enough. Well sec reign superior and it only makes sense. Period. FSU will prove why they were left out when they have to play a monster in their bowl game and lose by 40+.
Actually if you look at it in its totality, it’s actually fair to leave FSU out. Almost every year there is an undefeated Group of 5 team that never makes it to the CFP (UCF for example). They don’t get in bc of SOS. This selection shows that a Power 5 school is not immune from that situation. It’s the right choice to leave them out and ultimately paves the way for the expansion next year.
Bottom line is it has never been about taking the “best” 4 teams. If that were true, GA would still be in, because they are still one of the top 4 teams this year, but they lost their conference, so they’re out, and that’s right. But taking a team that was undefeated and ranked 4th going into their championship and putting 2 one loss teams over them after they won their championship. It stinks.

Big respect to Booger. He was the only one on that set that made any sense with his arguments. I'm a Georgia fan and knew we weren't making it after losing...but, how can a committee justify putting a 8th ranked team ahead of a 4th ranked team after a 3 point win? If FSU would have lost, no doubt...but they won.
It’s because everyone else on that set are a bunch of whores for the SEC, and ESPN in general loves bama So yes I agree good for Booger for not folding
😂 SEC Champion vs ACC Champion! Which team would have a chance to win in the playoffs? Well, the SEC’s history of winning in the playoffs and BCS bowls is dominant! ACC…yeah…not so much!
So basically the committee is saying to teams, you can be a power 5, undefeated champion, and we will still pick a team from the SEC who has lost even if you beat some SEC teams along the way to becoming undefeated.
Thank you Booger. The committee used the Jordan Travis injury as the excuse for putting their most beloved SEC Alabama into the fourth playoff spot. I submit to you that if JT had not been injured they still would have found a way to insert Alabama.
It's not an excuse. If they had Travis and still didn't make it, I would understand being upset. But they didn't even look like a playoff team last night.
I've never understood why there were only 4 teams to begin with. This season was the perfect example of there being too many good teams to leave out and screw over.
Because the playoff was only about determining #1, it was never about giving everyone a shot. This year was really the only year where you had 7 or 8 teams that could win it all. Most years its been just 3-4 though they screwed TCU and Baylor the year they put in OSU who then won it all. That's why ppl said 8. They made it 12 so the group of 5 can get their shot too and the top 4 can get a first round bye making the regular season matter.
You're right that it's not about giving everyone a shot. But in many...including this season....there are more than 4 teams that have a legitimate ability to win the championship...they earned the opportunity. This year at a minimum there are 6 teams with the legitimate ability to win it, in my opinion. The structure needs to be such to allow for this situation. It's better to put one or 2 unworthy teams in a 12 team system and let the games sort it out than to leave out several that should be playing for it
@@nenola504So you’re saying a defense can win a game and that FSU’s defense should not have been punished because a QB is injured? I agree with you. Good point.
I noticed that last night, for the Michigan/OSU game it was a defensive show, but for FSU/LU it was no offense. ESPN created the narrative in advance. It started as soon as JT got injured.
Ya as lsu went 3-3 on fg attempts to get 9 and Alabama went 2-6 on field goal attempts to have 6 then turn around and beat lsu 21-0 in the natty and don’t let them cross the 50 yard line once like buddy what a stupid point you made Bc you clearly didn’t watch the game
Holding a team to 6 is more impressive than letting up 31. Winning by 10 with a backup is more impressive than winning by 3 with a heisman candidate. The committee let it come down to the final weekend and compared them head up, FSU clearly displayed they earned it.
There’s a big difference between Louisville and Georgia bro. Georgia was number 1 almost all year and had won 29 games straight meanwhile Louisville lost to 2-8 Pittsburgh at home 😂😂
Holding a team to 6 that a 7-5 team from the SEC beat in there house the week before? Kentucky hung 37 on one of the worse team in the conference best there second best team in the ACC. Why yall not mad at Texas? They’re ahead of Florida State too 😂
Beside the score being low FSU physically dominated the game. The QB injury was a fabrication pushed by lackeys on the ESPN network. ESPN own 90% of the Bowls games they are the commitee!
I swear Booger was the only voice of wisdom on that panel. Shout out to Booger on that point. How do we know who is the best teams if the supposed best teams don't play each other. Florida State got robbed! You are punishing Florida State because their quarterback got injured. Huh?? How does that make sense? Teams have to adapt and improvised when their players get hurt and injured. The College Playoff Selection today is indicative of our society and culture we live in today. It is about perception and not reality. Too many people think it is not about the facts and what happens on the field, but only how you look playing the game of football. It should be about wins and losses, and not about style points and pretty plays. Florida State defense is tremendous and would probably wipe the floor with Alabama or whoever. My Seminoles got robbed like I thought they would be. The college playoff is not a beauty pageant. How you look throwing and running the football shouldn’t matter, but the record of wins and losses should be the criteria.
Amen! UW getting criminally underrated cuz of close games. If anything that makes them more dangerous and they proved that resilience against oregon. These fools never learn
I'm not a fan of either team but this just feels very wrong. And the FSU backup QB would be ready by Jan 1. Bama jumping ahead of FSU is basically saying 1. Go ahead and schedule TWO games vs FCS to guarantee 2 blowout wins, 2. Needing a lucky giveaway and hail Mary pass to barely escape an unranked Auburn team is a quality win, miracle wins are better than dominant wins, 3. Losing once AT HOME in your SEC season is better than going undefeated in ACC, 4. Losing at HOME by double digits is ok, as long as it's to a team that is also in the final four, losing at home used to be equivalent to two loses, unless your a SEC team, 5. If your starting QB gets injured, don't even bother playing the rest of your schedule, you're not getting into the CFP even if you finish undefeated 13-0.

A different perspective (from a Georgia fan)- there have been plenty of teams that lost their last game and got in. But it makes NO SENSE that a team wins their last game and doesn’t- I feel for FSU. Yes, let’s make a true, deterministic college football playoff that includes half of all teams controlling their own destiny. Hopefully it’ll end before the next season starts.
Apparently the committee evaluated Florida State based on the lack of offense after the QB got hurt. Clearly, the committee failed to notice that Michigan, WITH the starting QB, amassed a whopping 213 yards total offense against Iowa, which was 5 yards less than the 218 yards Florida State had against Louisville.
FSU was not left out because they struggled in any 1 game. They got left out because they lost their star QB and both of the backups have struggled. For the record half my fam graduated from FSU so I'm devastated and believe they should've been in. However, Michigan has been the most dominant team by every advanced metrics they've only trailed for "23 minutes" the entire season and never in the 2nd half. Bama has struggled severely vs several below average teams...that's who should be out.
This concept of 1 player is the deciding factor is disturbing. Football is a team sport! FSU as a team found a way to win and since 1 player is out, they don't deserve to complete their undefeated year in a power 5 conference?? Nobody can spin this into something different than what it is! Those Kids at FSU deserve better. Let them prove if they can be great!
Injuries matter. Do the patriots win all those super bowls without Brady? Y'all didn't have a competent backup QB. You need a Nick Foles. It is what it is.
The idea of Jordan Travis being the reason FSU is out is absurd. If he was the only missing piece, then it's not a stretch to think that Alabama would have been chosen over Florida State even with a healthy Travis. Jordan Travis is a convenient scapegoat for a confusing decision.

The 4 team CFB playoff made more sense than the two team BCS, which made more sense than the archaic 19th century (yes, I mean 19th) post-bowl game polls. 😂
McFarland was spittin facts and ESPN is about to fire him because he pushed back on the money machine. ESPN and the CFP threw out a 13-0 season from FSU because Bama draws more eyeballs.
If you're Michigan or Washington who would you choose to play? The answer is FSU first, Bama last. So Bama is the team to beat. At this point in the season I put them over Texas even.
The problem no one talks about is that a committee should not be allowed to exist at all. Winning football games should not be subjective. The records should determine that... Not wealthy people that have a conflict of interest. Strength of schedules should be made equal to start the year. The committee created itself so that it could do exactly this... Manipulate and game the system for their own interests.
Describe a college playoff system that works without a committee, where everyone controls their own destiny. I’ll wait. This is a weekly sport with a lot of teams. You can’t make this like the NFL or March Madness. The committee isn’t ideal but it’s the best we have for now.
Every year the committee comes up with a new “stat” that is most important based on who they want to include and keep out. Whatever favors the blue bloods, that’s what is gonna be prioritized. At the end of the day the committee is nothing more than espn/disneys whipping boys
If that was the case Michigan Washington FSU and Liberty would be in the playoffs. The result would be Michigan vs Washington.......FSU is good enough to beat anyone. They are gonna get destroyed by GA in a few weeks.
@@walterrand3931 As I mentioned... Strength of schedule would have to be much more equal among all schools at the beginning of the year. If liberty wants a shot at the national title they would have to play a similar schedule. That obviously doesn't completely solve the problem because there is luck involved with how the different schedules play out. I think Dan Mullins has the best idea. Have 8 conferences and the winner of each gets a spot in the playoff plain and simple. That could include liberty, TCU... Doesn't matter. Eliminate the committee and subjectivity. Would be wins and losses. Smaller schools would play for their own version of a title game. I'm not quite sure how you know the outcome of the GA game, but it's likely going to be backups getting experience and nothing more. So who cares what the outcome is!
Thanks Booger for speaking for all football college fans, CFP committee has destroyed the integrity of college football! 13-0 college championships of a power 5 didn’t get in. As a UGA fan, I think Florida State should have got the 4th spot over BAMA!! I see too much fishy stuff happen everytime we play BAMA!!! It's hard to beat the refs and BAMA!
You can't be a poor sport here. One team was gonna feel ousted. FSU got the ousting and hopefully next year they plY better so they can get in into the playoffs. At the end of the day it is still just a game. Don't get too serious about what was always meant to be a past time, not a business that's curing cancer.
FSU is not being punished for winning, you;re being punished for no longer having an offense or being the team that earned that 13-0 record. If you beat LV 59-0 like OSU did, you'd be in and bama out. If you beat LV 49 - 21 like Texas beat OKST you'd be in. Liberty is undefeated but no one is ranking them in the top 10 or even top 15. They're undefeated but they're not a top 15 team. I think you are even without JT but you're not a top 5 team anymore. Prolly right around 12ish. That defense is impressive. Good luck next year, you'll be ranked high starting the year and deservingly so once you fix your offense / heal up.
TEAM is the operative word. FSU’S team won their conference with a 3rd string QB. The 2nd string QB got 58 points on the board AFTER the starter got injured in a previous game. It’s a team effort and that TEAM deserved the chance to be in the playoffs.
I think if FSU showed dominance over Louisville, they would have been in. Instead, they had a score of 0-3 near the half. Zero chance they had the offense to be the top 4 with that, zero.

The question I would ask the committee is: “Why did you put FSU in the 4th spot after losing their starting quarterback and squeaking by a 5-6 Florida team? You can’t do that and them turn around and do this. You either messed up last week, or you messed up this week.
When Georgia lost to Bama and the committee realized "wait a minute, we're about to have a playoff with NO SEC presence!", THAT is when they realized FSU had to go. In their eyes, the SEC must always get an automatic invite. Always. And if that means screwing over an undefeated P5 conference champion... So be it.

"You're making it sound as if Alabama played nobody", obviously that isnt true, but Auburn surely made them look like a nobody. FSU won their last 2 games without Travis, yet Michigan won their last 3 games without a head coach. What does it prove? That a team can play without their most important leader, and still pull together to make it happen. Michigan literally plays every single player on the field most games, swapping out constantly, yet they still crush their opponents. If anything, FSU crushed North Alabama right after Jordan Travis went out, being down beforehand.
Bro the score was 58-13, are you smoking crack? Love how that was the only takeaway from all I wrote, and your response is terrible.@@guillermoalvarez9400
Wouldn't hurt anyone's feelings. Would just mean less money for your program and you're already at a disadvantage being in the ACC given the yearly $20 mill deficit compared to the SEC.
However, I think that this year, the SEC being bettter is a different story. Texas beat Alabama 34-24 in Tuscaloosa. Bama beat a 6-6 South Florida team 17-3. A USF team that had terrible defensive performances in a non power conference. Bama beat a 7-5 Texas A&M team 26-20, a team that gave up over 40 points to Miami and LSU and fired Jimbo Fisher. Bama beat a 4-8 Arkansas team 24-21. Arkansas lost to Missouri 48-14, Auburn 48-10, and two losing record teams BYU and Florida. Bama beat a 6-6 Auburn team 27-24 Fluke Miracle. An Auburn team that got blown out by LSU and lost to New Mexico State 31-10.
Nobody with a straight face can say Georgia is the 6th ranked team in the nation. Everyone knows just how good they truly are. Alabama seemed to struggle a few times this year against inferior opponents as you pointed out. However, they beat the best team in the country so that is way more impressive than FSU beating Louisville. The committee couldn't rank Alabama above Texas for obvious reasons, so they gave them #4. The Booger is just blowing hot air.
Rant from a neutral fan incoming: “They only had 55 passing yards with Brock Glenn.” If they were in the playoffs, Tate would be the qb again, so the fact that Glenn underperformed says nothing about their playoff stock. What Louisville showed is that the FSU defense can ball (just like how they always have when it matters most). I assure you, if Milroe got hurt vs Auburn and Bama beat Georgia with their second or third string, the committee would use that as a reason to put them in even more. Talk about style points too, what about Bama vs Arkansas, vs Auburn, vs AM, vs USF, etc. The bottom line is that the FSU defense dominated, and they won by that. Oh yeah, and if offensive performance was so important, are they gonna talk about how Michigan had worse offensive production than FSU did this week? Thought not. Oh and last, if you wanna say FSU is worse with Tate so much so that they shouldn’t be in, why not at least give them the chance to prove themselves. Bama had their chance and lost to Texas.
Tate only had 134 yard vs a terrible Florida gators team that isn't even playing in a bowl game. If he went off for 200+ and they won't by 14 points. Fsu is in. But to only manage 190 yards passing in two games against one really bad team and one mediocre team. They'd be curb stomped by other 7 teams in the top 8
Georgia won 29 games in a row, FLa St has not beat any team as good as Georgia all year. Bama beat LSU by 14 and FSU barely beat LSU. FSU was out as soon as Bama beat Georgia who has been the best team in CFB for 2 years. Bama will beat Michigan imho Wait and SEE!!
@@dustywarden7014 just cause you are ignorant doesn’t make you right. The fact is FSU has decided to go with a style of play that works with their backups. Its the same with Michigan. Look at JJ’s stats vs PSU and OSU. No one would keep Michigan out because they won without throwing 300 passing yards. Nowhere in the selection does it say the qb needs to be carrying the team. Sometimes, believe it or not, a complete team is even better than one that needs to rely on its qb to carry them 🤯🤯.
Ask yourself this, would FSU compete with any of these teams that are in rn? The answer is nope! They got it right and yes it sucks for FSU because injuries suck but c’mon man, this isn’t about going undefeated: fsu schedule was way easier than the other teams in there as well
Face facts, the committee never wanted ACC FSU in the playoffs. He was completely right in his statement. These boys won with their backup quarterbacks. The second Jordan Travis went down and they immediately pushed FSU out. Poor Jordan even stated that he wished he had broken his leg earlier so you could see what this team was capable of more than just the last 3 games. Teamwork wins games, not just offense or not just defense, Teamwork and that is what FSU proved over and over again. I feel so badly for them and at this point regret rooting for Bama against Georgia last night.
Honestly, if FSU wins their bowl game they should just pull a UCF and have a championship parade. This system rewards popularity and pageantry over results on the field, which is anathema to what sports are all about.
This also incentivizes teams to either lie about their player's injuries or rush players back from said injuries so they might have a miniscule chance of achieving their dreams Not that any of that matters in this case though Bama was getting in over FSU no matter what, Jordan Travis is just the committee's excuse
If they win their last two games by the same margin with JT there, they let them in since the injury isn’t an excuse. If they blow out those games with backup QBs, they leave them out anyway because those teams are terrible if you can blow them out with a backup QB.
So what the committee is saying is college football playoffs is like the NFL Pro Bowl. It's a popularity contest, not who has earned it. So here's the big question you have to ask yourself, why have a regular season? Why don't we just have all the teams dress up, walk them down a runway, and judge "who looks the best".
The fact that FL State won with its THIRD string quarterback should tell IDIOTS that their team is one of the best... Either of those teams ahead of them DOES NOT WIN their final two games in a row..
Just gonna be honest without Jordan Travis their offense is shockingly worse than I thought 16-6 against a Louisville team that isn’t even that good. Committee made the right descion for one
I’m pretty sure it’s based on if fsu would beat bama, Michigan,Washington and Texas which they wouldn’t without Jordan Travis and don’t forget strength of schedule
As a Huskies fan, this has to be the worst structured thing ever 💀💀. Left out by decision even though you win and are undefeated is crazyyyy. They might as well have not even played last night 💀
Man it just sucks to see your favorite college who is undefeated to get left out of the playoffs over a team that is 12-1 I hate how the college football has to have 4 teams in the playoffs, but at least we had a great season and won the ACC championship game.
No one on this panel or anyone on that commission can convince me that FSU should not be in the playoffs. Booger is the only one on this show who makes sense to me.
If you don’t understand why FSU didn’t make it when atleast 3 people slowly explain why they didn’t make it then idk what to say. You may not agree but it’s easy to understand why they didn’t.
You know what, you're right. Now it doesn't matter about defensive minded teams. It only matters on how flashy your wins look. Teams are going to look at taking out QBs even more now because implication is that without a QB you're not going anywhere even if you're undefeated. SEC especially will be more vitriolic next year.
So the ranking system for playoffs is based on importance of your star roster and how good you think a team will do for entertainment and not on the team sport that it is and if a team facing what ever kind of adversity finds a way to keep winning, then maybe they can prove through the opportunity to play in the play off that they may be the strongest and best team. On thing is for sure, you will never know now because of this subjective prejudices of their criteria! For the record, I hope FSU eats Georgia lunch! I hope Michigan drops Alabama like a mashed potato! And I hope Washington shreds Texas just to show y'all that the system is flawed and Alabama shouldn't have been in their over Texas who beat Alabama! And FSU should have been ranked #3! Maybe Georgia was over ranked! I remember someone saying when I was a kid, "its football, and on any given day any team could beat any team!" True statement! Forget all this subjective BS!
So if Travis getting injured means that fsu is no longer a food team, give him the heisman. If he has such an impact that fsu going undefeated and winning the conference doesnt put them in the playoff, he has to win the heisman. But we all know thats not going to happen
Lol if you take McCarthy off Michigan, they’re a different team. Take penix off Washington, they’re a different team. Ewers off Texas is a different team. Milroe off Bama is a different team etc. Point is, when you have good Qb play, as FSU did, you’re gonna be a different team with a backup. That doesn’t necessarily mean you deserve the heisman tho
@@KevinVasko OSU showed against Wisconsin that they belong after beating them 59-0. They wouldn’t have gotten in if they beat them 16-6. That’s the reality. If FSU actually looked impressive, they would’ve gotten a nod. I’m not even arguing that it was the right choice, I’m just telling you what their thought process was.
If you think Florida State is upset right now, my Georgia BULLDOGS are too! THIS IS A COMPLETE OUTRAGE!! Georgia DESERVES to be one of the TOP FOUR teams, NOT THE ALABAMA TIDE!!!
Booger is really one of the very few that I can rely on to have a truly thoughtful opinion and someone who we can trust to speak TRUTH!! I'm not an FSU fan...but they were ROBBED!
So the committee is saying that we’re worse than Tex & Bama without Travis but at the same time we’re better than Georgia. . . Who was their #1 team thats boosting Bama over us? Make it make sense
Naw, you're still a conference champ and Georgia isn't. Georgia also had a weaker SOS than Tex and Bama who are conference champs. That's why. You'd lose to any team in the top 7 or 8 right now, maybe even the top 12. We know it, you know it. But you deserve to be ranked 5th based on their criteria as the remaining power of 5 champ and an undefeated one at that.
The problem is people picking the playoff teams and not letting the record show. Simply put, FSU got robbed because it was Bama bias. Imagine NFL force Chiefs or Philadelphia sit out of playoffs because they lost Mahomes or Hurts before the season ends. 😂 even though they won their divisions.
@HingleMcCringleberry1 I think your missing the point, if all 4 teams all lost their QB they would all be on the same level still… FSU has looked completely lost on offense since losing J Travis. On top of going by your and the original comment logic the CFP shouldn’t have Texas or Bama and should have FSU at 3 and Liberty at 4. Again if anything this should be about Texas vs FSU more than anything as Texas jumped the same amount of spots while losing to a 12 ranked team and beat a 18th ranked team for a Championship while Bama lost to a 3rd ranked team and beat the 1st rank
To everyone saying the committee wanted to avoid a repeat of UGA-TCU, I say that’s fair. The team that made that happen should have been left out, Michigan!
College football is broken. Winning doesn't matter. Even with FSU left out, they did not get the "best" 4 teams. If wins and losses do not matter they should have put Oregon and UGA in. This is the most illogical event I have ever witnessed. It is just a sad day for college football.
Looky here dumb azz, If you beat a field of four year olds in the 100 yard dash, does that make you the best? maybe in your eyes it does but to other ( Like the college football Committee ) it does NOT. Face it fsu could not win against Texas or Georgia and you know it.
I get it if FSU lost after Travis’ injury, and you were comparing 12-1 teams, but they adapted and won with dominant defense instead. How you can knock that achievement is beyond logical. Highlighting 55 passing yards as a stat is just admitting you didn’t care for defensive performance.
because they compared to 4 OTHER TEAMS AND ALL 4 TEAMS DOMINATED THERE LAST 2 PERFORMANCES GO LOOK AT THE TOTAL YARDS OFFENSIVELY FSU PUT TOGETHER VS BAMA THEN JUS LOOK AT THOSE NUMBERS AND YOU TELL ME FSU HAS A CHANCE AT WINNING THEN YOU WANNA TALK DEFENSE THERE DEFENSE HAS TO LITERALLY FOR A WHOLE HOUR KEEP A TOP 5 OFFENSIVE TEAM FROM SCORING yea ok lol like i been saying yall will see dec 30 fsu wouldve got blown out and instead of having a blowout in the cfb playoffs where about to see a real life showdown between the 4 best teams right now

Have to agree with Booger on this one. Yes, Alabama came on strong at the end, but it isn't as if they looked like world beaters all year. FSU earned the right to be in the playoff, because they won the games they were supposed to win, period. You can't assume that they just because they are without Travis they have no shot against Michigan. Are they likely to win against Michigan? No, but we don't know for sure, and that's why you play the games. Everybody has a different opinion about who the four best teams are - and that's when you hear terms like the "eye test", which is a subjective criteria. In my opinion, the committee got it wrong.
If you think FSU is one of the four best teams then you either didn’t watch the Louisville or Florida games or your drugs are not at the proper dosage.
...and "4 best" is an opinion. That's why you go by game results. Saying you have the four best and have Michigan in over the Georgia Bulldogs is absolutely ridiculous. UGA is an NFL team compared to Michigan. You see how that's my OPINION??....Your biased choices are not ok just because you don't like FSU. Maybe we don't like you either.... Gotta go by GAME RESULTS. THAT IS HOW PRETTY MUCH ALL SPORTS WORK. That's why you play entire seasons. You have to bring it every game. Bama didn't do that. UGA didn't either. Neither did Texas or Ohio State. Take your hatred out and imagine if you put in all that work to get screwed out of what YOU earned for someone else less deserving. Let this soak in.
This issue is who are the best teams? That’s an opinion. Why play the games if they don’t matter. There is nothing else Florida state can do. I agree Bama probably better but there are 5 teams behind Florida state that are better. But they do deserve to be in. Anyone 13-0 conference champ shouldn’t be left out. Someone explain how Texas goes from 7 to 3 after beating #18 when FSU drops from 4 to 5 by beating #14 and is jumped by 2 one loss teams. It's all because they weren't going to keep the $EC out and had to have Texas above Bama to justify Bama getting in. It's a shame what they did to those kids @ FSU.
FSU Defense stepped up and played lights out after losing Travis. So they did change and improve just not offensively and thats not a problem so long as they kept winning...
We KNOW ESPN wanted Alabama in. There IS no excuse to go undefeated in a football season and not have a chance to play for the championship. Losing a QB, you mean like Ohio State did a few years back and won the 'ship with a third stringer? Oh okay.
What bothers me most is how are we a top 4 team the last 2 weeks after JT got hurt. But, today it’s all about JT not being available!!!!! Bama was not eye candy this year in the least. They didn’t walk in and just handle everyone they played. Struggled all year. Michigan tight all year!!!! Calling BS!!!!!!
As a Washington fan, it’s baffling that they used the eye test to get Bama in. Everyone used the eye test to say Oregon would destroy us in the rematch and that certainly did not happen
What the committee is saying is that there was nothing that Floride state could have done to get in. Even as a 13-0 conference champion.

So, what's changed in the last few weeks? Did FSU lose or something?
No, what change is that UGA lost, and God forbid the SEC industrial complex be left out of the CFP.

Actually if you look at it in its totality, it’s actually fair to leave FSU out. Almost every year there is an undefeated Group of 5 team that never makes it to the CFP (UCF for example). They don’t get in bc of SOS. This selection shows that a Power 5 school is not immune from that situation. It’s the right choice to leave them out and ultimately paves the way for the expansion next year.

If FSU would have lost, no doubt...but they won.

Which team would have a chance to win in the playoffs?
Well, the SEC’s history of winning in the playoffs and BCS bowls is dominant!
ACC…yeah…not so much!
Womp womp
So basically the committee is saying to teams, you can be a power 5, undefeated champion, and we will still pick a team from the SEC who has lost even if you beat some SEC teams along the way to becoming undefeated.
Thank you Booger. The committee used the Jordan Travis injury as the excuse for putting their most beloved SEC Alabama into the fourth playoff spot. I submit to you that if JT had not been injured they still would have found a way to insert Alabama.
When Bama and Georgia win, the committee will be completely vindicated and validated. Fsu vs Bama, no question Bama would win that battle.
It's not an excuse. If they had Travis and still didn't make it, I would understand being upset. But they didn't even look like a playoff team last night.
Agreed. Heavy lobbying by Saban. Agree with Booger.
Absolutely not. The committee put TCU in over bama last year. They learned their lesson, and kept fsu out
It’s literally in their rule book to factor in key injuries lol. It wasn’t an excuse it’s literally the criteria they use.
I've never understood why there were only 4 teams to begin with. This season was the perfect example of there being too many good teams to leave out and screw over.
Exactly!
It's better to put one or 2 unworthy teams in a 12 team system and let the games sort it out than to leave out several that should be playing for it
Than to leave out several deserving teams because the system only allows for 4 to play for it, i mean
Not just good, several great teams.
I remember a lsu beating bama 9-6 and everyone loved it. If FSU had a sec patch last night it would have been called a great defensive performance
Yeah exactly... it would have been a "gutsy performance"
Because both defenses was loaded with nfl talent so it was expected to be a defensive game

ACC ended SEC title winning streak. FSU owns the weak SEC
They immediately misconstrued Booger's point. They just took over the conversation, and never gave him a chance to rebuttal. I've never watched a FSU game in my life, yet I'm absolutely pissed.
You don’t get credit for beating North Alabama, you shouldn’t be struggling against them to begin with.
Bro the score was 58-13, are you smoking crack? Love how that was the only takeaway from all I wrote, and your response is terrible.@@guillermoalvarez9400

I absolutely be 100% agree with you. They should go to Disney world and crown themselves national champions and be done with it
Wouldn't hurt anyone's feelings. Would just mean less money for your program and you're already at a disadvantage being in the ACC given the yearly $20 mill deficit compared to the SEC.
Joey keeping a straight face while saying he feels awful for Florida State had me laughing hysterically.
He’s a clown 🤡
Except for Booger, you all are making BS excuses!!! You couldn’t stand a playoff without an SEC team!! All of you are COWARDS!!!!
Joey just wants someone to take of Michigan because he played at OSU.
Yeah, he’s just another evil monster stooge
Michigan shouldn't be in the playoffs either
So yea booger is justified the people that are saying he hates bama are the rednecks and trailer trash from Alabama.
Rant from a neutral fan incoming:
“They only had 55 passing yards with Brock Glenn.” If they were in the playoffs, Tate would be the qb again, so the fact that Glenn underperformed says nothing about their playoff stock.
A ha
I feel so badly for them and at this point regret rooting for Bama against Georgia last night.
regrets?? u sound like my 4th ex wife??? hehe
FSU didn’t play or beat anyone in the top 10 like every team in the cfp did. FSU best win was against a 3 loss LSU team.
All that would have done was put Ga & Tx in. FSU still wouldn't have got in.
When they lose to Georgia come back to talk to me
Facts FSU got robbed
Honestly, if FSU wins their bowl game they should just pull a UCF and have a championship parade. This system rewards popularity and pageantry over results on the field, which is anathema to what sports are all about.
Nobody cared about UCF and nobody will care about FSU😂😂😂😂
Just glad they’re expanding to 12. I’ll be way happier w a controversy between 12 and 13 than 4 and 5
Just schedule GA Dawgs asap on neutral field…to shut them up …
@@phatjonesCCP FSU wouldn't rep a participation natty anyway. They're too classy for that.
It’s a delusional Florida tradition! Miami and UF should have parades too!
This also incentivizes teams to either lie about their player's injuries or rush players back from said injuries so they might have a miniscule chance of achieving their dreams
Not that any of that matters in this case though Bama was getting in over FSU no matter what, Jordan Travis is just the committee's excuse
If they win their last two games by the same margin with JT there, they let them in since the injury isn’t an excuse. If they blow out those games with backup QBs, they leave them out anyway because those teams are terrible if you can blow them out with a backup QB.
It also incentivizes teams to intentionally injure players. It's the Saints bounty scandal on a much bigger scale.
Where have you been? The argument your making is old news. It was made against the CFP all the way back in 2016.
That’s how it’s been this season and maybe a couple of other seasons but with 12 teams that eliminates that problem
@@WesleyWilkins-qf2kythank God there expanding it to 12 teams so we don’t got to deal with the committee
Which team that FSU beat “looked better” than UGA? Just wondering…
Oh yeah. Beating Miami and Florida is the same as beating Ole Miss, lsu, Tennessee, and Georgia.
The fact that FL State won with its THIRD string quarterback should tell IDIOTS that their team is one of the best...
Either of those teams ahead of them DOES NOT WIN their final two games in a row..
They arent. Thats reality

Georgia will destroy Florida st even if they had their starting QB and Bama will destroy those cheaters so enjoy that.
They can’t tell you the real reason, it’s the MONEY!
It's about money. Texas already beat Alabama. The SEC was weak thus year and FSU should be there.
So if Travis getting injured means that fsu is no longer a food team, give him the heisman. If he has such an impact that fsu going undefeated and winning the conference doesnt put them in the playoff, he has to win the heisman. But we all know thats not going to happen
This doesn't make sense lol
Lol if you take McCarthy off Michigan, they’re a different team. Take penix off Washington, they’re a different team. Ewers off Texas is a different team.
The NFL and CFP are two completely different playoffs. Liberty won all there games and only ranked 24… FSU don’t have a QB
@@user-hg4hz1lx2h And what day and bowl is Liberty playing this year despite the FBS worst strength of schedule?
