the point is that morophon can be controlled quite easily, and if you can't cast your creatures at instant speed in response to morophon being controlled, then chances are you'll have to wait two more turns before getting the chance to do anything.
@@travisbewley7084 good point, but then you'll have to wait to have enough mana to potentially cast in the same turn both morophon and the blink spell (that's a lot of mana, and by this turn you're really late to start synergizing ; obviously morophon is still a nice and fun commander, but not really potent in 1v1 for example)

My girl is running void exile with traitor of ghet as her commander. Want to talk about a hard deck to beat especially with the mana ramp from other cards we've come across.
Don't forget! Tribal spells are also reduced. So things like "All is Dust", "Stream of Unconsciousness", "Tarfire" would all be reduced as well. (well, maybe not Dust, but with a Fist of Suns it's free.)
My own favorite deck is my ditto tribal deck. You basically play all the changelings with Reaper King at the helm and win the game with the best tribal cards in magic. Morophon will be awesome in that deck. Casting Reaper King for free, hell yeah.

I was so happy that you didn't mention slivers until you did! I'm definitely making a sliver deck but might also put it in with my Scion the urge dragon deck so I can turn it into morophon and unload my hand with big dragons

Just play all the good Changelings and add in the best lords from every tribe like Reaper King, Harmonic Sliver, The First Sliver, Lord of the Unreal and Knight Exemplar, and watch as your Changelings become the buffest things in existence
The idea I've had for Morophon was a deck around the Kamigawa spirit/arcane synergies. Not only is Spirits a tribe that there's not a synergistic commander for, but they benefit extremely from the cost reduction because of all the triggers you'll get from casting more spirits. They're spread among all five colors, but somehow, the flavorful leader of their tribe - O-Kagachi - doesn't do anything that benefits from playing spirits.
I'm planning a Minotaur Morophon build. Minotaurs have been my favourite tribe for a long time, and now that I can finally run them in every colour they have, I can't wait.
I think with Morophon I am more excited to fill the deck with nothing but anthem style creatures that boost a specific tribe so I can build him Voltron.
It would be good with the ur dragon commander deck with fist of suns. It could be used in any deck with fist of suns but I think ur dragon would benefit from its high creature cost to just cast for free.
Glissa, the Traitor.. Because a 3/3, 3cmc First Striking / Deathtoucher, that recurs Artifacts (like Mindslaver, Jester's Cap / Mask, Grinning Totem, Oblivion Stone, Nev's Disk etc) in your Graveyard when an opponents creature dies is clearly not good enough.

Been wanting a Legendary creature for my tribal lizards deck for ages... Or possibly my Viashino tribal deck or maybe both! I have just built a Julious jumblemorph deck and my Reaper king deck is basically obscur creature tribal anyway using the three enchantments to make them all scarecrows (All ready running the blue, white and black bringers in it).
I think one thing that is missed is that while you have a WUBRG commander you do not need to build into all five colors. by limiting your colors you can build a more consistent mana base and in turn allow you to play more creatures that have double or triple colored pips in their mana cost in your deck. Doing a few things very well can be just as effective as having a swiss army knife to handle all that comes up in a game.
I actually have a sliver deck with Morophon, but I have him in the 99. Sliver overlord as the CMDR and first searches are crystalline sliver and morophon. Games over after that. Enough mana to search up first sliver and sliver hivelord and play them for free and cascade out of control on the next turn
Running Tiamat as your Commander with Morophon in the deck is absolutely godly. Whereas he is a Changeling, you can search him out when Tiamat ETBs, and if you're really nasty and happen to have Maskwood Nexus (turns every creature you own, including ones not in play, into Changelings) on the field, you can search for Jodah in the same move. If you can play them both, every other dragon is now free for you. Pairing up with Terror of the Peaks or Scourge of Valkas to repeatedly kill Tiamat with damage and recast her for free to play your entire deck of dragons...for free.
If I were to pull it, I'd probably try to do a Change-Lord tribal deck, in that it would have many changelings, many lords, arcane adaptation effects, and Jodah because free creatures = free value. Add green ramp and draw engines, while splashing some fun Sliver shenanigans in for good measure. Maybe even add in muldrotha for some added fun.
Yay, slivers getting recognition! Although, I think it fits better with Sliver Overlord as the commander and Morophon as part of the 99, as the Overlord can just tutor Morophon into your hand.

Playing as a rogue tribal. Mostly blue, black, white, but also has green and red splashed in a bit. But using cards like oona and other rouge buff creatures. Then the rest of the deck is mana ramp with artifacts and a couple green cards, counter spells, tax spells, draw spells, and prison spells, to stall out until I can draw into a fireblast or banefire and cast them for a lot of mana, winning the game. If I don't win by just beating people down with tiny rouges lol
I made a Morophon deck utilizing 3 different tribes, although a lot of the creatures aren't even of the 3 tribes, but I abuse enchantments like Arcane Adaptation to make all my creatures of whatever tribes I want and start dumping them out for cheap or free One of my favorite win cons so far has been Lilliana's Contract
Did both an elemental and dragon tribal with him as commander. Even without really polishing the decks up they overwhelm other decks. Dropping a 10/10 flyer for free and a bunch of 6/6 flyer for like 1 mana is alot for folks to deal with

I'm building a Shaman tibal deck with Morophon. Turns out a lot of creatures we use regularly are shamans and a lot of them cost only 2 colored mana (free with morophon). Lets see how it works.
I think Morophon is actually really good with cards like Urza's Incubator, and Heartless Summoning. That way cards that have colorless in them also get reduced letting you play even more cards for free while still letting you cast morophon earlier.

I'm not sure, I like Slivers, but I feel like I'd want an actual sliver creature as commander. I can usually get to WUBRG faster than I can get to 7 mana, and still, Morophon will cost 9 if it dies once. That might not be too bad if you assume that you'll be trying to get as much ramp as possible though. What is you try to limit your spells to just 2-color pairs in the same tribe (somehow?) and throw in Niv-Mizzet, Reborn or whatever the new Niv is.
I've been trying out the jank lords build. I'm trying to find the right balance between changelings,lords and utility(Ramp,recursion, removal) . When it goes off its very explosive.
I went for humans, some which are wizards(lol), with a splash of some cool cards I had, like plainswalkers and Merit Lage type OGs. Also put in shapeshifters and snow lands.
Not going to build a new deck but upgrade and change an already existing deck. Four color eldrazi token deck that used yidris but now with morophon most of my eldrazi become practically free since I mostly use the tokens to pay for color less mana anyway
i snagged a morophon on mtgo on release day but so far i think ive just put it in the 99 for reaper king.. but ive been making all kinds of decks so soon ill get around to figuring out exactly what to do with him besides one of the 99 lol
Does the fist of suns/jodah combo actually work like that? Judge! I thought if you pay an alternative cost you cant then use cost reductions that would affect the original cost.
Just traded for a morophon since they’re finally under 5 bucks and ever since I first saw this card I knew I had to go everything tribal: just all the best lords from really obscure tribes and a bunch of changelings so all these changelings get crazy buffs from these lords that wizards didn’t think were gonna be that powerful.
Might use him as a chance to ad some actual variety in Hydra tribal. I actually had that deck built until VERY recently, but as mono green it just became boring in its very... well, mono style. I also kinda want to use this for my old Dinosaur tribal deck just so I can mess with other colors. lol
I got Morophon the other day and threw it into my Sliver Commander deck. My friends already hated playing against it... Now they get to deal with me casting Slivers for cheaper too? Oh boy!!
Am I wrong for thinking that if a commander is colorless that means you couldnt do any colors in your deck? Only played commander for less then a gear and never seen a colorless commander used so dont know.
The color identity of Morophon is all 5 colors. The color identity is an extension of the color of a card (which is determinate by the mana symbols in the casting cost) to include the mana symbols in the rules text of a card. Usually the color of a card and its color identity are the same, but there are cards with a greater color identity than its color, like Morophon for instance. all the signed mana rocks, and many more.

One being humans the other a Innistrad/Gothic Horror theme for when I need a more powered down deck. I'm adding morophon into my sliver deck so my hivelord can tutor him and then make all casting costs either free or just generic mana.
Just add fists of suns and you can cast all creatures for free at that point

Morophon "lord of lords" + changelings was my first thought when I saw him. Any excuse to use my old, beat up Mistform Ultimus makes me happy.

i snagged a morophon on mtgo on release day but so far i think ive just put it in the 99 for reaper king.. but ive been making all kinds of decks so soon ill get around to figuring out exactly what to do with him besides one of the 99 lol
Does the fist of suns/jodah combo actually work like that? Judge! I thought if you pay an alternative cost you cant then use cost reductions that would affect the original cost.
If changelings are all cresture types and walls are a creature type and walls have defender... Changelings can't attack right..?
Just traded for a morophon since they’re finally under 5 bucks and ever since I first saw this card I knew I had to go everything tribal: just all the best lords from really obscure tribes and a bunch of changelings so all these changelings get crazy buffs from these lords that wizards didn’t think were gonna be that powerful.

Might use him as a chance to ad some actual variety in Hydra tribal. I actually had that deck built until VERY recently, but as mono green it just became boring in its very... well, mono style.
I also kinda want to use this for my old Dinosaur tribal deck just so I can mess with other colors. lol
I still think Morophon and shapshifters are the cutest
I am building a deck that is tribal tribal. It uses changeling creatures and benefits from cards like Rooftop Storm.

I got Morophon the other day and threw it into my Sliver Commander deck. My friends already hated playing against it... Now they get to deal with me casting Slivers for cheaper too? Oh boy!!

Am I wrong for thinking that if a commander is colorless that means you couldnt do any colors in your deck? Only played commander for less then a gear and never seen a colorless commander used so dont know.
The color identity of Morophon is all 5 colors.
The color identity is an extension of the color of a card (which is determinate by the mana symbols in the casting cost) to include
the mana symbols in the rules text of a card.
Usually the color of a card and its color identity are the same, but there are cards with a greater color identity than its color, like Morophon for instance. all the signed mana rocks, and many more.
I know it was just a random example but Baleful Strix cant be bounced by Cloudstone Curio because it is an artifact.
I had the idea to build flicker so you can reset morophon's tribe multiple times per turn
I like the idea of shapeshifters with Lords/generals to lead them aka discount slivers cause screw slivers.
The blink morophon idea was very impressive and didnt see it coming . I loved the concept. I am tempted to give it a brew.

@@vasylpark2149 Most Certainly! I have already build a mono blue Eldrazi with Morophon as the commander and have two more decklists in the wing for him as well. One being humans the other a Innistrad/Gothic Horror theme for when I need a more powered down deck. I am sure that there will be (many) others like me who can imagine multiple brews and will make them :)

Morophon is every creature type so every creature you cast shares a type with him, thus meeting the ancestry's requirement.
Eldrazi, horror, avatar, or gods. Those seem the best to take advantage of the varied cost reduction
