This stage seems to be a highly reimagined version of the original MK3 ''Rooftop'' stage.
In Mortal Kombat (2011) it has 3 versions: one at daytime during the Outworld invasion, one at nighttime during the invasion as well, and one after the invasion showcasing the destruction.
In the ''Dusk'' version, you can see the portal Shao Kahn used to enter Earthrealm. It's also, In the Story Mode, were the final battle between Raiden and Shao Kahn takes place.

Seriously the amount of storytelling this stage does is amazing. Literally you can see the realms merge together with Outworld buildings appearing and mixing with Earthrealms. This is what is missing from Fighting Games today actual character put into the stages.
