  • Cybersecurity in Healthcare: The Change Healthcare Case
Did you know that last year, the health care sector reported 249 ransomware attacks to the FBI? That’s more than any other industry in the United States! Most of these cases affected patient records, which is a serious concern for all of us.
You can call it a knee-jerk reaction, or whatever you want, but I guarantee that our government is going to step in and start tightening cybersecurity regulations on organizations that fail to implement basic cybersecurity measures. And rightly so! We’ve seen too many instances where companies fall short, like Change Health Care. They claimed to have multi-factor authentication (MFA) everywhere, but it turned out they were hit with ransomware because they hadn't fully rolled it out. As their CEO admitted, "we didn't have it fully rolled out."
It’s high time we take cybersecurity seriously to protect our sensitive information and patient records.
