I can't tell you how appreciative I am for this beautiful piece. My health has been declining over the past year and I have had 2 extended hospital stays since October (currently on week 5 of my current stay) and I have repeatedly listened to this gorgeous rendition over and over. It has brought me so much peace and joy during these difficult times. The perfect balance of instruments and just beautifully executed. From one musician to another.... Thank you for sharing this gift with the world.
1 O God beyond all praising, we worship you today and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay, for we can only wonder at every gift you send, at blessings without number and mercies without end: we lift our hearts before you and wait upon your word, we honor and adore you, our great and mighty Lord. 2 The flower of earthly splendor in time must sure die, its fragile bloom surrender to you our God most high, but hidden from all nature the eternal seed is sown, though small in mortal stature, to heaven's garden grown: for Christ, your gift from heaven, from death has set us free, and we through him are given the final victory. 3 Then, hear O gracious Savior, this song of praise we sing. May we, who know your favour, our humble service bring, and whether our tomorrows be filled with good or ill, we'll triumph through our sorrows and rise to bless you still: to marvel at your beauty and glory in your ways, and make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise.
I'm so sorry, I've been asked this often via email. There is no exact sheet music for this arrangement. The strings are playing the written string parts for Dan Forrest's anthem, and I'm playing an improvisation based on the piano accompaniment and vocal parts.
This is absolutely beautiful! The texture of the strings and contemporary theory in this is superb!
Just simply beautiful. The crescendo at the end gave me goose bumps. This is actually my favorite hymn. Thank you so much.
