Yeah, seriously. All I want is a qr code and I'll download the manual to Dropbox so I always have it. And how about just mailing one paper manual to each customer if they request it
Usually in most electronic stuff right now the manual is literally three pages with let’s say where’s the power button and QR Code with the full manual. The 400+ left pages are “necessary” regulation and safety information which are going straight to the bin.
Im a makita man but i got the ryobi 15lt backpack sprayer for work to spraying con cure and anti vap it is Awesome for the price 90psi 7 years warranty...
I just bought this unit here in the USA, but I didn't get that thick User Manual! LOL! WOW!!! By the way, thanks for the video. It helped me understand and get a visual on what I need to do prior to using mine. I wasn't aware that there is a slight amount of leakage from the spray wand. I'll have to keep that in mind, especially when I am spraying down the weed and grass killer, and don't want to get into my lawn area. There was a part on the User Manual that did mention what you said, about the spray nozzles building up possible debris in them, and they actually recommend pulling off the caps and using a small screw driver or some other small pointy tool to scrape off any debris from the nozzle heads. Once they are cleaned then they should function as usual. I am definitely excited about using this sprayer, and I bought it because I really hated having to use the Pump-and-Spray Units and or the Spray Bottles. Again, thanks for your video, and say Hello to the chickens LOL.
Thanks mate, you showing me how to use this help a lot, I poured some old weed killer into the tank through the cap and blocked the sprayer didn't realise the tank unscrewed, thought I'd damaged it. All good now thanks to your video 👍👍
My backpack hand crank sprayer is in need of replacement. This Makita probably has a place but I'm on a rural property and 15l makes a walk worthwhile. The Milwaukee Switchtank is a perfect setup if you have M18 batteries but it'll be a day of kicking and screaming before I buy into yet another battery system. Still, the Makita is a good size for insecticide and I don't like using the same sprayer for herbicide, insecticide and then fertiliser.
The powered sprayer is definitely a nice piece of kit for small stuff. Nice for like a little garden or maybe minor weeds on concrete. I'm thinking this might even be doable for spraying cleaning solution on walls etc. for mold/mildew too. Would definitely prefer the powered higher capacity one, but for the price, that's best left to commercial endeavours. Would be nice to have a uniform spray rate though on my back pack. sigghhh.
Makita has an eco friendly packaging initiative that they’ve been ramping up. It was detailed in one of their recent shareholder reports (which was also the size of a Bible). I want to say 2019-2020 is when they officially started.
How can it be eco friendly with that much paper used? It's like a whole tree was used for the manual, let alone all the bleaching chemicals... I'd say, recycled paper if you have to print due to regulations, or online manuals.
Just got one. Nice kit, nice spray, nice to hold. But, hose was so bent and crimped (not allowing any fluid to pass) at the handle I'm having to use two hands; looks like a piece of wood and tape to keep it straight. Seems a bit dissapointing to do that to a new machine, or remove and shorten...
Man, I so want to buy one but that dripping is a bummer. Dead grass trail everywhere my missus would carry it, to connect all the dead patches she's already left in every spot she's been ... 🙂 but less mowing, hmmmm ...
I find that sprayers with all plastic parts last much longer than brass or stainless. The stuff you’re spraying is usually corrosive, and plastic is much less susceptible. Seeing the brass and stainless wand on the Makita makes me think those parts wont last.
I hope you read my comment, thanks for the review btw. I would like to know how far the Makita DUS054Z can spray. Why? I'm planning to do my roof, I need to stand on a ladder etc. Grtz
If you have ants you should get ripcord (from Bunnings or farmsource) it's litterally the same stuff professionals use. We do it for flies and mozzies too
I boughtvthis model here in the US too. My manual was about 1/8th of the book you got. I havexa problem with mine though. The pump stops it seems when the hose kinks off at the entrance to the wand. Any ideas as to why?
Great review! I got mine today but will be returning to the shop tomorrow as I didn't get that banana thingie to attach the lance to the unit. Why didn't you use the shoulder strap? I sprayed some clear water with it as a test and with it's much more comfortable on the shoulder than carried in hand.
Funny review but I have absolutely no use for it. And it's almost impossible to get herbicides in Germany and I wouldn't use them anyway. But thanks for the entertaining review!
It's not at all impossible, they're just nowhere near as powerful as in countries like the US. They're more like "Weeds please leave" than "weed-b-gone"
It perplexes me that this is not supplied with an optional fan (flat blade) style nozzle. The fan type nozzle is critical for even applications of fertiliser and other products on lawns. Google searching, I cannot find a Makita nor third-party nozzle to fit this Makita. The 15L version includes a fan blade nozzle, but, it is unclear whether purchasing that as a spare part separately would fit the 5L. If anyone knows, do share! Cheers
Got this the other day and pretty happy. Are they likely to release different spray nozzles, sometimes you want a straight line profile when killing grass on the edge of your path.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL Now just compare this one to the CXT 12 v version and XGT 40 v version :-) MAKITA US053DZ (12 v) is here in Finland at same price than DUS054Z , and 40 v unit have only seen that on Japanese pages . Cant find spare part chart for this one , so hard to tell if these can be repaired if they fail .

Packaging: More environmentally friendly. Manual: Let's just jam all languages in one massive book, even though nobody's gonna read more than 1 of those languages. Doesn't matter that it takes two trees to make it. Also, honestly, 20kg on your back is SO much better than 7 or 8 kg in one hand. I could walk around with 20kg on my back all day, but carrying 7kg in one hand for an hour would ruin me for days.
I hear what you're saying, but they are so uncomfortable to have on your back with your shoulder blades digging into hard plastic. If they were nicely padded sure. I prefer towing a tank on a trailer with a quad and a 100m hose personally. And it starts off at 8.5kg, but after 6 minutes only weighs 3.5kg ;)
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL Are they still that uncomfy though? The old ones sucked big time, but I can't imagine the Milwaukee one being too uncomfy. I would agree with you on the quad with trailer, if I didn't hate long hoses/cables so much, they always get in the way. For a large property it's definitely the way to go though
Every other Milwaukee tool is uncomfortable to use ;) When using the quad most of the time I didn't even get off. Just drive and spray, best way to go.

Every time I watch your videos it ends up costing me money😂😂
Makita using more environmentally friendly packaging. Also Makita kills 3 whole trees to make the manual.
im surprised companies dont make the manuals digital download...

Old weed killer crystallises and blocks sprayers easy as.
Yep I’ll be getting one. My days of pumping those pump packs are over
Very tempting, would like a larger reservoir personally, hopefully they will be bringing one out but it looks great for what it is
I agree, to small why bother.
Perfect for someone who would have gotten one of the hand held sprayers anyways. They need a backpack one.
There are larger backpack ones available, but it may not be viable because of the cost depending on your application.

any news on makita 80v chainsaw?
Did someone shrink your wheelie bin?
How would this fear being used for moss/mould treatment applications on driveways/roofs?
Fine. Just so long as it is cleaned afterwards.

Yes. As long you don't use ph-1 or ph-13 that will kill the seals etc.
