- "Sgt. Augustine in Hell" written by STING. Drums : Vinnie Colaiuta. This track is in 7... Technical it's in 7/8, but that's really just an academic question about how you'd write the music, it could be in 7/4 just as well..
Colaiuta is both a good drummer and an interesting and unique person. He brings in the spirit of Zappa.
Master vinnie colaiuta
what a barnstorming track and what a band obviously topped off by the VinMeister
colaiuta è un mostro di tecnica, indipendenza e velocità...n1
Sting singing and playing this time division like nothing and of course vinnie...

Thank you=)
Technically its 7/4 because its not a triplet feel.
Triplets have nothing to do with it being 7/4 or 7/8. The time signature just determines what subdivision gets the pulse. In this case it is the eighth note so time sig. is 7/8
@@brendanbird828 Hello mate.Pulse is in quarter note as said in the title so its 7/4 .
7/4 is counted 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ( quarter notes ) ... and 7/8 is counted 1 2 1 2 1 2 3 or rarely 1 2 3 1 2 1 2 .
Here is a Macedonian song in 7/8 ruclips.net/video/AHKVLko9SXQ/видео.html
P.S. I am not trying to be a smart ass. Cheers mate and happy musical journey to you !
2:30 that monologue of Vinnie was imitating Stewart Copeland? Lol
