I was diagnosed 2 years ago with it but mine isn't this.you obviously have to have 5 of the 9 symptoms. ..and I see some of the obvious symptoms but his leans towards more of the narcissistic and sociopathic spectrum of it than anything else. But he is just a horrible person and tries to justify it with oh I have a mental illness so I can act this way. 😑

I have BPD and have done this before. It took a lot of therapy and meds to get me to stop bothering people. I always felt like a bad person along with an overwhelming sense of rejection. Sometimes it was my borderline personality disorder, sometimes the other person was being toxic and intentionally upsetting me (my ex called that "schadenfreude")
I love how he says she should answer her phone and “deal with him like a human being.” I heard those exact words from someone. They try and make you feel guilty for protecting yourself. I’m glad she’s away from him.

It ain't BPD. He is an abusive narcissist. All of his words are the same thing my abuser said to me for 7 years (including the "you said all these things about my publicly so I will tell your family how you really are" which was just a threat to try and stop me from reporting my abuse to my family)

@leah rose Same here. I grew up viewing anti-dpressants, anxiety meds etc as bad, because my mum taught me to deal with mental health not ignore it. A lot of people use it as a cop out, it's the first thing they turn to instead of looking to see what might be causing it aside from a chemical imbalance. No way I would never ever tell anybody I would terminate a friendship/relationship over a person taking medication I didn't agree with though. I mean I guess if they started abusing the meds and it was having negative effects instead of helping them manage their illness.
Not to mention claiming she didnt have an illness to begin with. Family members or childhood best friends can MAYBE get away with disputing a diagnosis such as that, but not a veritable stranger 🙄 this guy is nuts

Similar thing with Japan. Actually I’m pretty sure that although it’s stated as 13 most prefectures still have their own age of consent, being 16-18. And for the areas where technically the age of consent is 13 it is only not punishable when there is a minimal age gap. I e. 13 and 13. But if someone is over 20 and diddling kids 13 and under that’s illegal. I’m not 100% sure as I don’t live in Japan but a quick google search shows similar results.

Yeah...it's not even 3 days...these emails are from a span of *less than 12 hours*. The first time stamp is "9/21/11, 5:26 PM", and the last time stamp is "9/22/11, 3:53 AM". 13 calls over the span of much less than 12 hours. And I think 5 of them were from after midnight. Jesus tap-dancing Christ.

Definitions.
Unless the context clearly requires otherwise, the definitions in this section apply throughout this chapter.
(1) "Course of conduct" means a pattern of conduct composed of a series of acts over a period of time, however short, evidencing a continuity of purpose. "Course of conduct" includes, in addition to any other form of communication, contact, or conduct, the sending of an electronic communication, but does not include constitutionally protected free speech. Constitutionally protected activity is not included within the meaning of "course of conduct."
(2) "Unlawful harassment" means a knowing and willful course of conduct directed at a specific person which seriously alarms, annoys, harasses, or is detrimental to such person, and which serves no legitimate or lawful purpose. The course of conduct shall be such as would cause a reasonable person to suffer substantial emotional distress, and shall actually cause substantial emotional distress to the petitioner, or, when the course of conduct would cause a reasonable parent to fear for the well-being of their child.

RCW for Stalking: RCW 9A.46.110
Stalking.
(1) A person commits the crime of stalking if, without lawful authority and under circumstances not amounting to a felony attempt of another crime:
(a) He or she intentionally and repeatedly harasses or repeatedly follows another person; and
(b) The person being harassed or followed is placed in fear that the stalker intends to injure the person, another person, or property of the person or of another person. The feeling of fear must be one that a reasonable person in the same situation would experience under all the circumstances; and
(c) The stalker either:
(i) Intends to frighten, intimidate, or harass the person; or
(ii) Knows or reasonably should know that the person is afraid, intimidated, or harassed even if the stalker did not intend to place the person in fear or intimidate or harass the person.
(2)(a) It is not a defense to the crime of stalking under subsection (1)(c)(i) of this section that the stalker was not given actual notice that the person did not want the stalker to contact or follow the person; and
(b) It is not a defense to the crime of stalking under subsection (1)(c)(ii) of this section that the stalker did not intend to frighten, intimidate, or harass the person.
(3) It shall be a defense to the crime of stalking that the defendant is a licensed private investigator acting within the capacity of his or her license as provided by chapter 18.165 RCW.
(4) Attempts to contact or follow the person after being given actual notice that the person does not want to be contacted or followed constitutes prima facie evidence that the stalker intends to intimidate or harass the person. "Contact" includes, in addition to any other form of contact or communication, the sending of an electronic communication to the person.
(5)(a) Except as provided in (b) of this subsection, a person who stalks another person is guilty of a gross misdemeanor.
(b) A person who stalks another is guilty of a class B felony if any of the following applies: (i) The stalker has previously been convicted in this state or any other state of any crime of harassment, as defined in RCW 9A.46.060, of the same victim or members of the victim's family or household or any person specifically named in a protective order; (ii) the stalking violates any protective order protecting the person being stalked; (iii) the stalker has previously been convicted of a gross misdemeanor or felony stalking offense under this section for stalking another person; (iv) the stalker was armed with a deadly weapon, as defined in RCW 9.94A.825, while stalking the person; (v)(A) the stalker's victim is or was a law enforcement officer; judge; juror; attorney; victim advocate; legislator; community corrections' officer; an employee, contract staff person, or volunteer of a correctional agency; court employee, court clerk, or courthouse facilitator; or an employee of the child protective, child welfare, or adult protective services division within the department of social and health services; and (B) the stalker stalked the victim to retaliate against the victim for an act the victim performed during the course of official duties or to influence the victim's performance of official duties; or (vi) the stalker's victim is a current, former, or prospective witness in an adjudicative proceeding, and the stalker stalked the victim to retaliate against the victim as a result of the victim's testimony or potential testimony.
(6) As used in this section:
(a) "Correctional agency" means a person working for the department of natural resources in a correctional setting or any state, county, or municipally operated agency with the authority to direct the release of a person serving a sentence or term of confinement and includes but is not limited to the department of corrections, the indeterminate sentence review board, and the department of social and health services.
(b) "Follows" means deliberately maintaining visual or physical proximity to a specific person over a period of time. A finding that the alleged stalker repeatedly and deliberately appears at the person's home, school, place of employment, business, or any other location to maintain visual or physical proximity to the person is sufficient to find that the alleged stalker follows the person. It is not necessary to establish that the alleged stalker follows the person while in transit from one location to another.
(c) "Harasses" means unlawful harassment as defined in RCW 10.14.020.
(d) "Protective order" means any temporary or permanent court order prohibiting or limiting violence against, harassment of, contact or communication with, or physical proximity to another person.
(e) "Repeatedly" means on two or more separate occasions.

I can feel it in my bones that young, vulnerable me would’ve fallen for this behavior. Now that I’m in my late 20’s? Hell no, it’s such obvious manipulation. But teenager me would’ve genuinely believed he loved me, needed me, wanted to change, etc. This is why this is scary and he’s a predator.
Edit: Just recently found out he used these tactics on a 26 year old. I don’t like to victim blame and I’m NOT, but truly, she was a bit naive to fall for this. However - this was years ago. Manipulation tactics have only recently been shed a light on in social media, so she probably wasn’t willfully being naive.
Overall, she is still a victim and he’s still a dick. I just hope women and girls can now recognize these behaviors for what they are in this day and age, we have to FIGHT them instead of thinking they’re “charming.”

All he’s doing is trying to hoover her back into a relationship. The escalation is him slowly realizing he isn’t going to get what he wants. He doesn’t want to lose one of his main sources of supply. Like with all of his relationships, he wants complete control. He’s a narcissist and has no empathy for those he associates himself with. They all play a role in his life, which to him is merely a game. People like him must be avoided at all costs. Go no contact and never look back.
Also, while he may admit he has emotional problems, he has no desire to truly change. Remember that it is always a manipulation and never genuine.

@@jaimoore4442 It's been a struggle. I now have severe PTSD and anxiety from everything, I see a therapist twice a week and I'm on heavy duty anxiety meds. I was naive and stupid in trying to help a friend who turned out to be an extremely narcissistic, mentally and emotionally abusive and a drug addict. I drag myself daily knowing I trusted someone who hurt my child, and my best friend (my dog) and tried to take away everything I loved and cared about.
I pressed charges and he went to prison for it, but, unfortunately he was released from prison on Parole the end of June this year. I now have a permanent restraining and no contact order in place and I moved in hopes that he just stays the hell away from me and I can keep trying to heal and move forward.
I hope and pray no one ever has to go through what I have. It's terrifying and soul crushing.

The most terrifying thing about hearing these is when I was about 19 (I'm 33 now) I dated someone like this. I even had to move away from my sick mom to hide from him. He always found me. He would harass my mom. Three or 4 years after we even broke up and I was engaged to someone else he called my mom and told her the next time she sees me I'll be found dead in my trunk. He still to this day makes fake profiles to try and contact me.
Hearing him in these gives me severe anxiety and flairs up my PTSD from the things that guy did to me. Its SO dangerous. I really hope these women get protection.

No woman (or any person) should ever live with a fear like that. But it does happen unfortunately. That is why I get so pissed when I am asked "why do you need a gun?" Or "They are probably going to take it from you & kill you." With that opinion they want my guns taken away. No, jackass. No one gets a license, passes a background check, then just gets a gun. They get practice. They go get training regularly. What would be the purpose if you didn't feel confident with it. It is like buy a big 18 wheeler truck, then never learning to drive it. You will not feel invincible. You will not feel like a superhero. But that's not what a gun is for. It's for you to feel safe. To not worry 24/7 that someone is after you or that you might become someones victim. Women do not want politicians making decisions about our bodies, don't let them make decisions about our safety. Owning & knowing how to use a gun is more comforting than carrying an order of protection from the courts. 🤷♀️
Hey Brandy, is there any sense of attachment you still have to him? A gateway of sorts? Like gifts, or things that make you sad about missing out on the good experiences with this person? I'm asking because this is a tactic they use to continue a connection with their victims. He keeps returning because you may have some distant connection that he is trying to access. Get rid of everything he ever gave you. When I left, I actually did a ceremony where I burned items that he gave me to symbolize my complete cutting off of this person. Every chord my heart had toward them was severed so he could never get to me again. Just something to think about.

Also,no the cops would not do anything. .when he would find out my number they told me to change it,when he would make secret profiles they said as long as mine was private I was safe and when he threatened to hurt me to my mom they said they couldn't do anything because technically he wasn't threatening my mom and he was in a different city and I had no idea where he was so they assumed he didn't really then know where i was.

I can't get over how abusive those voicemails were. He'd start off being kind which could lower the recievers walls down a little meaning the guilt tripping his attempting would be more likely to work. In leaving all these voicemails as well and guilt tripping in them all is also a way for him to try and hold a certain amount of control as well, knowing that for as long as he leaves those voicemails and does his best to interfere with their life, they won't be able to properly move on.
It's all very emotionally abusive and if this is how he acted towards someone he'd been with for two weeks, I can't imagine what the people who have been with him for at least months have been through.

Sometimes not reacting to an individual or a situation is better than talking in loop holes or being made to feel like complete and utter shit. Also, being silent can be better for your mental health, peace and to move on. Sometimes it's just not worth wasting time arguing or talking to people like onion. So no. I don't agree in this case that it would be narcissistic and just because someone chooses to stay silent doesn't mean to say they are narcissistic.
