God is sovereign over nature. He rules the wind, the waves, the thunder, the lightening, and the tornadoes. He has and always will have a purpose for these things. And it isn't for you or I to know or understand why.
Whatever the Lord pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps. He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain and brings forth the wind from his storehouses. (Psalm 135:6-7)

One thing I don't see is bolts coming out of the basement block walls, no backfill either. I live in KC area and my house is the same way a foundation just sitting on blocks that are not backfilled and no bottom plate bolted down. They should rebuild with California building standards or even Hurricane standards with a lot more bolts and straps and screws not nails. It may not hold against 200 mph winds but smaller storms it would make a big difference. One house in Florida was standing while his neighbors homes were not and he showed the straps holding the roof down and talked about how it costs more but it was worth it since he still had a home. It takes carpenters just as much time to add the metal as it does to frame a house to EQ standards.

What a nightmare to go thru. I remember a tornado going thru MN when I was less than a year old. How do I know my age? Because I asked my parents. The only thing I recall is being rushed into the storm basement.
From a very young age I learned to know the voice of God guiding me on how to fight to survive all the asthma attacks I had since birth as I heard an inner voice at age 3-5 tell me: “Don’t stop fighting, you’re not going to die. You are going to make it. Just don’t stop fighting (to breathe).” Later I asked my Dad if he said those words to me and he said no. Then I knew it was the Holy Spirit speaking before I knew Him personally. God’s mercy and steadfast love never ceases to amaze me.

It's so hard to lose everything 😞 Until it happens to you, you can not know what it feels like. The shock is the numbing feeling.
Being homeless is shocking too .
May Jesus Christ intervene in every way .
    Follow Him .
    He loves you .

If I lived in tornado valley and had to rebuild, why not an underground home? Very safe, cheap to heat and cool, super quiet, etc!!

God bless her. May she learn to lean on God in her life not just when tragedy or fear strike . May she raise her child with the calm heart of knowing God does loves them both . Sometimes tragedy can give you strength you didn’t know you had and make you better. It can bring communities together. They will rebuild better than before . 🙏🏻

I wonder what rating it will recieve after they survey the damage. I would guess EF4 it looks horrible. Guess it will also depend on the structure of the homes and how well anchored they were to foundation. Haven't technically had an EF5 in what 11 years? There are some tornadoes that should of gotten EF5 ratings but would be surprised if this got that rare EF5. Not a professional just my opinion and not to down play the damage and what these people went through by my comment, that is for sure.

Insurance costs money, and on top you have to pay deductibles and then still have to wait. Their homes aren't going to be rebuilt anytime soon(if they will be rebuilt) and they are going to need to stay somewhere in the meantime.

@@virgilhilts3924 Of course I know how insurance works, you fool. She has to pay for her deductible, but I'm saying it's not fair that SHE has to pay. The government should be paying every penny for that home. Her whole home got destroyed. It's not her fault. This damage was not done by her, it was done by the environment. So, who charges her for the work that she does so she can pay for her insurance and her home? Why, the federal and state governments, that's who! THEY are responsible! They are supposed to keep us safe with that money we give them, and we can't even sit in our homes in peace without it getting destroyed! Who's land and air space is it? It's America's air space! SO AMERICA SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE! And before you start saying they are not responsible, I need to remind you of the trillions of our dollars these morons have spent on wars instead of coming up with a solution to tornadoes, disasters, etc. There are ways, there are ways...they are researching but they supposedly don't have a solution yet.

"The Three Little Pigs" is a fable about three pigs who build their houses of different materials. A Big Bad Wolf blows down the first two pigs' houses which are made of straw and sticks respectively, but is unable to destroy the third pig's house that is made of bricks.
