    Crazy, you have one of the only walking tours of my small Michigan hometown (years ago and why I subscribed). Now I live in the woodlands, excited to see the rest of the video. Here’s to Michiganders.

    Here in Ontario, Toronto rent is generally $2000 to $5000 per month.

    • @scottman895
      @scottman895  8 месяцев назад

      That's quite expensive!

      @scottman895 Yes, rent is completely unaffordable to just about every benefits recipient here in Ontario if they don't have family wealth.

      @@robertsitch1415 Gotcha. That's rather unfortunate.

      @scottman895 Yes, I know a few people locally who were forced to move back in with their parents during the pandemic. Owen Sound 1 bedroom apartments are generally advertised in the $1400 to $1600 range, with the lower end being mostly 1970s buildings without elevators and built-in air conditioning.

      @@robertsitch1415 Gotcha. I know a lot of people moved back home in the past few years. I can see how a lack of AC can also decrease the rent prices too.

    I guess you can say that although Houston still has a lower crime rate than Detroit in general, people often don't want to live in the city, regardless?

    • @scottman895
      @scottman895  8 месяцев назад +1

      It's hard to say. I know many people like to live out in the suburbs in Houston just like in Detroit, but there are people who will live in the city too.

    It's kind of funny how Canadian musician Cory Hart became famous for "Sunglasses At Night," but apparently doesn't want to be seen in sunglasses after feeling like a one hit wonder in America.

      I can understand why. It's almost like having the phone number 867-5309 after that song came out in the same decade.

      @@scottman895 Apparently, some plumbers decided to have that number after several people changed it after receiving countless prank calls.

    It's a little funny calling it the Woodlands, when by Midwest standards, it's not very wooded.

    • @scottman895
      @scottman895  8 месяцев назад +1

      True especially compared to the woods we see here in northern Michigan, but it does get quite wooded north of Houston as you get up into the Piney Woods.
