From 2-3 years, suicide cases from reputed iit's like iit guwahati , iit khg are coming. Their's sudden increase in these deaths. I don't think this could be because of study pressure. Something is going very wrong in these institutions
Same case happen in nit Bhopal; recently in month of September 2024 1 student of btech(cse) and one of mtech did the sucide par institution ne news ko bhahar nhi nikalne Diya and baat ko daba diya
Hindu rashtra gimmick, ignorance, bleak future prospect, helplessness, academic pressure, jingoism, social unrest and detachment, shattered dreams, addiction, bad company etc etc etc..
In IITs professors don't give good grades even if you are just 0.5 marks away from that grade. There's always relative grading in IITs that makes students compete in their batches, they should do absolute grading. Sometimes students face health problems because of the mess, hostel, environment and home sickness but the dean and professors of IITs don't give them attendance relaxation in any situation.
yeah relative grading has flaws, imagine all get 20 marks out of 100, all have to be passed 😂although technically they are fail but so has absolute grading , students will not push themselves beyond others just be settle with passing marks.
@naruto6918 suppose that 300 students are in the batch and if 15 are getting over 90marks, 100 students are getting btw 80 to 90 marks and 100students are getting between 75 to 80 marks and remaining are in between 70 to 75 marks then the remaining students will get bad grades according to relative grading. Although 70 marks are good marks.
This is a big loss as asset to our nation.Bright minds taking such steps,our government needs to look into mental health of specially such premier institutions.

Not Jadavpur University....Drugs not so easy to find inside iit campus ...However one of my friend's brother was in iit kanpur , he used to say drugs were available just outside the campus

NO, in IITs academic pressure is main reason, ragging is very common in medical colleges but they are not responsible for suicides
