Rachel is one of the most creative deck builders I see across the EDH RUclips space, and her sequencing in gameplay is excellent. Always glad to see her in CZ/GK content!
Did they miss that Luxior lets you use her +2 on herself? I think that alone makes it incredible.

So a couple cards I would suggest because I've been thinking about Dihada nonstop for several days now. I am obsessed. Main thing is going turn 3 legend into turn 4 dihada is super important to either protect when you minus or have something to +2 on. So most of these are super cheap legendary creatures.
Kalain, Reclusive Painter - 2 mana ramp into turn 3 commander. i would play that anyway especially because i can +2 on them. However, once you factor in that our commander makes treasures herself this card is a must include. Every creature you cast will just be slightly bigger, or if you stocked up a few treasures maybe even twice as big as normal. Add on top Lae'zel being recommended here it is incredibly easy to take the deck in a +1/+1 counter centric direction. Just a very solid glue piece.
Mila, Crafty Companion / Lukka Wayward Bonder - Front half is card draw if they remove any of our very scary legendary creatures and also protection for Dihada. Also just a 3 mana legend which is maybe the most important thing to be in the deck. Backside is a reanimation spell. Or card filtering. Or a warstorm surge if he gets there. Wouldn't put just him in the deck but as a freebie off of Mila its quite nice.
Kambal, Consul of Allocation - Just one of the best 3 drop legendary creatures out there in my opinion. That's about it. He's quite annoying especially if he always has indestructible.
Chainer, Nightmare Adept and Isareth the Awakener - Legends which let you recast things from the graveyard. Dihada gives Isareth free attacks. Still have to pay mana with these but thats fine they are cheap and most of our legends are cheap anyway.
Breena, the Demagogue - Card draw, counters (the secret synergy of the deck), and encouraging our opponents to hit each other instead of Dihada. EZ include.
Queen Marchesa - It's Queen Marchesa. Do you need anything else.
Less of a slam dunk, but Kervek the Merciless. He is 7 mana, however our commander gives us a lot of treasures and as a follow up after turn 4 he is absurd. This card takes away games. Imagine giving this LIFELINK AND INDESTRUCTIBLE EVERY SINGLE TURN. They have to remove it with bounce or exile or just lose and when they do you still get to take something down with it because they had to cast a spell.
A few of your favorite reanimation spells. As said, being able to make use of your graveyard is super important. Any of em will do, i suggest Yawgmoth's Vile Bargaining as its a legendary sorcery and kills something.
Aside from that you can just jam in literally whatever Red Black or White legends you want in here and have a blast. It is incredibly flexible because Dihada is card draw and ramp and only asks you play legends. Wanna go to town reanimating things? All in on Aggro with Isshin in there? Maybe take a page from Zurgo and go boardwipe tribal and keep one thing with indestructible? One of my favorite precons I've put work into upgrading in a while.
What's are your thoughts on a good reanimator package for this? Been thinking about mardu reanimator for the last couple of days for Dihada but I can't decide on what legendary creatures to include as reanimation targets or whether to go high/low cmc. I agree with a lot of the creatures you mentioned though!

In my opinion, her -3 is her best ability and what you should be looking to use when you first cast her. You nab one card and get 3 into your graveyard and 3 treasures or worst case you get 4 in your GY and 4 treasures - in the right deck it's almost draw 4 create 4 treasures.
You run lots of reanimation like Animate Dead, Reanimate and Living Death.
This way you aren't shoe-horned into running lots of cheap legends.

Ashling actually seems kinda gas with dihada’s +2 since ashling will survive her own wipe effect thanks to indestructible and because she gains lifelink too that is potentially anywhere from a 10 to 40 point life swing depending on what your opponents are playing.
She needs to survive for that long though, and exile effects are quite common these days, both in white, blue and black.
I've managed to do it a few times, its really good.
I just ran this combo last night at my LGS. The board was full of other creatures. Had my ashling at +7, and did a wipe. Gained 98 life. Ashling is incredible.

I'd imagine something similar to the emergency effect might happen. Like when there is an emergency in public most people will think "someone else will call, I don't have to" so noone does. There probably wouldn't be as many applicants as you think

There seems to be a subtle Knight subtheme that got sprinkled into this deck that I think would be a really fun pile with Shanid at the helm going in a different direction. Might be worth considering if you wanted to build a dedicated legendary creature / combat step strategy instead of this deck's mardu goodstuff approach. (A lot of the cards being removed from this list would be a shoe in for a Knight tribal deck such as The Circle of Loyalty)
Bought this precon last friday and played 4 games with my guys. It won 2 games out the box, no upgrades. It was also really fun. Instantly one of my favorite commander decks. Looking forward to upgrading it soon!
This is imo the better precon of the two. The other is hard to mana fix and ramp up to get a ton of mana. This one is just playing cheap legendary creatures and in the late game you play the bigger ones.
Edit: technically the best case scenario of the painbow deck is op, but this deck is definitely more consistent and seems like it is more fun.
if they put in an into the north and farseek, like three of the kaldheim duals, the bfz lands, and bad fetches, it may hum.

Phyrexian Reclamation is almost always an auto include in anything that runs black because if you dont abuse it, its the less viable target for removal on the board

I was really sold on Cadric when he was spoiled. I love the value he gives you with ETB, LTB, and attack triggers. Definitely one of the more interesting commanders that’s been spoiled thus far in my opinion. Not sure why he’s not been talked about more.

I wasn't sure about this deck since I haven't played a legendary matters or a planeswalker commander before but this actually looks like a lot of fun. Might have convinced me to try it out!
If you want to add a tutor for legendary, definitely add search for glory. It’s less than a dollar, and is better mana wise than the creature they suggested

On the other side: Thalia's Lancers being a creature works better with graveyard return with the other currently available sources in the deck allowing you to cycle it better if need be. Sheoldred ftw!
Hey! Monuments are actually super underwhelming in tricolour decks. Everything being said about "equipment being not as good here" goes double for the monuments. Not only do you always need a creature to go with these, but it needs to fit the monument's colour to function properly as well. They are *easily* weaker cards than any of the exclusions that have been mentioned.

Also: Untaidake is kind of a trap card. It's nowhere near Ancient Tomb in terms of usefulness. Reasoning being that even in a "legendary themed" deck, at least 25% (if you are lucky) of your spells would probably end up being non-legedary. Those are you signets, your ramp, your instants, etc. That's just how it goes for deck construction. For instance in the stock decklist there's 18 out of 60 spells that you straight up can not tap Untaidake to help cast. And as an additional bummer it enters the battlefield tapped.

My local lgs is doing a commander league where we play standard legal set precons. This deck is so much fun out of the box! I’ll use these upgrades for the coming weeks. We get to do 5 upgrades each week for 6 weeks

Great video, thanks. Regarding Zetalpa ... I think you forgot about your own game strategy for a moment. You are playing with Dihada and clearly want to make use of her -3 ability (you even added synergies to this ability). So ... you make 4 additional mana and cast Zetalpa on turn 5 (or even earlier, depending on your opening). Seems pretty strong to me.
Rachel weeks needs to be in more content, she’s an absolutely phenomenal creative mind in the magic community! Every deck I see her build I’m just like “fuck… I want that”
try breena in this deck. card advantage, +1/+1 counters, evasion, kind-of goad, with vigilance-lifelink-indestructible... is REALLY GOOD
Just bought her tonight got into a three pod and wrecked them pretty badly with a deck I haven’t used ever.
My pod had a trouble time getting around the indestructible legendary creatures man. It was pretty fun
I think the best add is luxior, so that you can creaturize dihada, gave herself lifelink and indestructible pumping her at the same time and wait to ulti

A big one I think you missed, especially because you talked about adding boardwipes, is Massacre Girl - it's easy to overlook the fact that she's legendary!

glad to see Garna getting some respect. 5 CMC is a good bit but I built a deck around alpha striking / mass-sacrificing, casting her, and sacrificing her in response to it. Forced Dash. way more powerful card than she has any right being!
I don’t know if the card was out when this video was made, but I think it was. Final Parting is infinitely better than Thalia’s Lancer. Best way to build Dihada is obviously legendary matters, BUT with treasure and reanimation sub themes. You (almost) always send all 4 cards from Dihada’s -3 to the yard, you don’t want to when it’s not at permanent (Urza’s Ruinous blast or Primeval’s glorious rebirth). There’s also certain situations with creatures that reanimate others, where you’re okay adding them to hand. Pack the deck with all sorts of reanimation and treasure makers. Lots of incidental life gain (Piru, The Volatile or making Kaervek, the Merciless have Lifelink from Dihada). The life gain allows you to win the game with Bolas’ Citadel, best card in the deck. 100% add a living death. Since your graveyard will almost certainly be packed with better (and more) creatures than your opponents, living death is the best possible wrath for this deck (ruinous ultimatum a close second). 90% of your card draw should be spells that allow you to discard in order to draw (red card draw, thrill of possibility, big score, etc.). This way you can get high cost creatures into grave and cheat them out. A few of my other favorite cards in the deck are Ratadrabik or Urborg (whenever a legendary creature dies, make a 2/2 non legendary copy of it) and Gisela, Blade of Goldknight (doubles damage opponents/their permanents take from any source, even other opponents. Have this out with Kaervek and watch the world burn. Also halves damage you and permanents you control receive). Another top 5 card in the deck is probably from the precon, Odrich, Lunarch Marshal. Deification is better than Luxior. I know at the time this video was made, people didn’t know this, but it’s actually smart to NOT kill Dihada. Her -3 is so much value for the deck, and killing her just lets the player bring her back and use that again, right away. Deification is good against removal and cards that make Dihada useless (Koma, Cosmos Serpent), plus enchantments are harder to get rid of. Lae’zel is alright, but not a must add for the deck, as you’re very rarely trying to use Dihada’s Ult. Take it from someone that’s played the deck 100 times, it’s not going to happen. I’ve been able to do it once, and yes I used to run Lae’zel and Luxior, until recently. Neither are necessary for what you SHOULD be trying to do.
I was playing shanid and had honor worn shaku out when my buddy played an intruder alarm, and let me tell you, it works like a charm. Near infinite colourless as long as I was able to play a legendary creature which usually drew me another legendary creature which I could also play to untap all my creatures which allowed me to tap them all again for mana and then the process repaets itself until I had no coloured mana
you can tap dihada herself for mana aswell and it does nothing to her
Luxior, giada's gift equipped to Dihada makes her a valid target for her own +2. Do that until her ult, she'll be indestructible
Unfortunately indestructible doesn't save planeswalkers. Indestructible creatures still take damage, and when a planeswalker's loyalty is reduced to 0 through damage, it's similar to a creature's toughness equalling 0.
That being said, Luxior is still a great addition!
@@nathan8659 This is true! That said, the card specifically says that the equipped card is no longer a planeswalker, meaning they couldn't swing at her, and damage won't remove the loyalty counters

Regarding the Boast ability of Varragoth, it can also be used before blockers are being declared, so it would have a certain trigger at least, of course it'd be better to make him indestructible, but it's still an option to attack with him while making another creature indestructible and attack with Varragoth
Boast is an instant speed effect. if you declare the crature as an attacker, then when defenders are chosen, you can activate the ability.
YOu can activate before blockers even.
I’d love to keep the Circle of Loyalty and make this into a kind of low-key mardu knights deck with the alternative commander. I think there’s enough legendary knights and equipment to work with to make that happen.

I’m a little surprised you didn’t add Kalain, Reclusive Painter. Embercleave would probably be good too, for a slightly higher budget

Shanid gets really gross with effects like Cloudstone Curio. If you have dockside and any other legendary that is low cost in Mardu (Rograkh, Yoshimaru, Isamaru, Ragavan), you are gaining mana if there are at least 4 artifacts or enchantments on the field. You are also drawing cards in this loop until you choose to end it. There could be some cEDH potential for this deck, especially because we are in black for tutors.
I know "low cost" was refering to the cmc of the card but seeing it before ragavan made me chuckle

So spending 40 bucks is gonna net me 5 cards I'm going to use guaranteed and then who knows with the other 95 I reiterate great value

If Shanid is the commander, Zurgo Bellstriker is such a good card in there as a reliable draw engine.

Ashling is an indestructible massive life gaining board wipe with Dihada. Keep it.
I would have slotted in Board the Weatherlight and Search for Glory. Both are cheap budget wise, and can grab legendary, and Board the Weatherlight hits artifacts, and if you put in snow lands, Search for Glory can grab those.
This commander is great to lead many tribal decks that feature good legendaries as lieutenants to protect with her first ability: vampires, humans, knights, just to name a few that were precons. The deck she comes in, Legends' Legacy, seems like a high school reunion. Plenty of interesting characters who got together for one night of catching up before heading back to their real lives in other decks.
I was playing around with the idea of doing a “popular commander tribal” where all creatures are commonly seen commanders. And this feel like the deck to turn into it lmao.

Arguel's Blood Fast is an interesting choice for either Commanders. Nothing wrong with a Legendary 2 drop Greed
Cadric reminds me of Inalla, from the wizard tribal deck a few years back.
Ashling works well with the lifelink from Dihada
and indestructible, ain't she?
Argument for Ashling, she is very good with Dihada’s +2 giving her lifelink and indestructible, then dealing a bunch of damage to everything can be super strong. Yes, she’s a large mana investment, but might be worth.
Zetalpa is in the deck because of Odric i guess, every legendary having all zetalpa’s abilities is great, i even have both of them on my esika deck!
Yeah Zetalpa+ Odric is like back up if Dihada isn't around since Dihada +2 gives Lifelink, Indestructible and Vigilance to a creature and Odric shares it :P
Great suggestions. I'd like to add Blade of Selves and Duke Ulder Ravengard giving your ETB/death triggers Legendaries Myriad can get really silly like Junji death triggers x 3 or Elesh Norn can quickly give your opponents board -8-8. I'd remove the legendary anthem for Dictate of Heliod, flashing it in can be a decent combat trick :P

I would cut alesha or bell borca over the ashling, there are times late game where you can play it and sink the 6 mana into it. it even combos with Dihada since you can give it lifelink and indestructible and gain all the life you deal as damage.

I won my first game with krenko and just +2ing dihada for those sweet goblin tokens. Equipped him, had the +2/+2 day of destiny, etc. every other game after the cards were just too expensive and slow. The synergy is there but executing it is more often a miss
I'm brew-storming a Dihada goad/pillowfort deck first.
I like all the praetors in it and personally helm of the host and the partner akroma I also would probably want to put alot of haste stuff and I dont remember if it's in it but sword of the animist is a good card and legendary

Yes, she can target herself with her +2, Luxior was the first card I thought to add when I started brewing her
they still have a window to target before you can activate her on your turn, but still dodging all the sorcery speed for sure

Why do you think eiganjo isn't seeing play exactly? The cards very, very, very good its certainly better than the black and red one. Dealing 4 damage to attacking creatures hits so many things, that i would argue it goes in literally every deck that can play it, even 5C
It does see play, especially at really high power levels. It's an untapped land that can act as removal.

Edhrec shows it's in 38000 decks. That's a fair bit.
@@CKarasu13 Its more, i don't know how an experienced commander player can underrate a card that is so obviously a card that goes in 99.99% of white decks. My comment is in response to the idea that someone thinks its not great, i never said its underplayed (which 38000 decks to me suggests it is underplayed too imo)

I think you should keep zetalpa because you’re getting treasure tokens super fast with Dihada so it can come out a lot earlier than you thought. I also think that bell borca should be taken out because it’s not all that powerful and doesn’t work with any graveyard synergy. The only reason that it’s in the dick I think is bacause it’s legendary.
Tenza works better if you build the deck around Shanid. But sure, it's not a top tier card.
Ashling is in the deck because Dihada gives her indestructible and lifelink, so you get a ton of life and a repeatable boardwipe.
Wotc did not put the channel lands in the precon?

I dont remember every land in it but I do think wizards should put the lands that enter untapped if u have two or more opponents should just be in every commander deck that they fit in they r basically lands built for commander

Would it be smart to buy this deck and un box it and resell it, or atleast the mor expensive cards and then buy like a set booster of something????? I have this idea and I went more opinions
