A good Kanye performance that's a must watch is "All Day" at the BRIT awards, it's amazing!!
Best kanye performance
Yea and that one isn't on any of the albums either so he might not hear it otherwise.
Yes!
Goat performance. And better than the studio version.
The confused T Swift dancing is a highlight.
@@amrit-2865 facts
Kanye has a very emotional raw voice, he isnt the best singer, but he's so powerful when he's singing and he made autotune an amazing weapon to get creative with
He is really good at singing now, he sings his ass off on donda
Amen
Actually T-pain changed auto tune and paved the way for everyone else.
@@yanoman8706 T-pain was great with auto tune.. but you can't deny Kanye West is alot more influential and its his influence that inspired the artist who started using it. I'll even add lil Wayne. NO knock to T-pain.
The entire yeezus tour is such a spectacle. The visuals, wardrobe and choreography are incredible
Easily my favorite Kanye era
Kanye's tours have been amazing since glow in the dark tour
I wish I was old enough to understand the concept 😂 I’m 20 ngl just now seeing how amazing this album is. My favorite from him no question
New slaves performance on SNL. He brings all the intensity to that second verse and doesnt miss a word
That's one of my fav SNL musical performances ever
One of the best snl performances along side when he performed jesus walks, only one, and wolves
@@_axron_9152 ultralight beam is another good SNL performance too
If you’re a big fan of Kanye’s autotune singing I’d recommend you listen to 808’s and heartbreak. It features some of the best autotune tracks of all time (imo) and is really emotional at times.
Im not sure if he'd like that. He really liked Yeezus cause it was aggressive
@@KungFuTayo he should try death grips then
@@skulls3211 death grips is ass
@@KungFuTayo he also liked the bass and sparseness of the beats on yeezus which was a huge part of 808s
@@KungFuTayo he liked yeezus cuz it was a really full deep heavy synth sound, similarly to 808s
Kanye is one of the best live performers ever in my opinion, all of his live tours are incredible especially his last 2 the yeezus tour and the saint pablo tour, both of these shows visually incredible and the stage design is probably the best I’ve seen personally.
Jik isn’t one of his best albums but is my first Kanye’s concert and seriously BLOW MY MIND
@@fernandomartinez-jf8gd Life of pablo live is amazing. such a great vibe in general
imo best show visuals are 1. YEEZUS 2. DONDA 3. SAINT PABLO
It started with The Glow in the Dark Tour. He’s been progressive ever since. My favorite Yeezy concert was Watch the Throne
The Kanye West rabbithole is one that is completely worth going down, there is so much to this man that he truly has lived a thousand lives. I was lucky enough to get into his music when his first album came out so I was able to experience most of it in real time. While his music doesn't get outdated, it is still definitely made in the moment and very relevant to his life at that time, it is so interesting to see the interviews of him from and how they reflect on him and the music he released at the time. I really hope you go down the whole thing, you will really enjoy it.
Need to watch Pinocchio’s story live from the Hollywood bowl, one of the greatest performances of all time in my opinion
Need to react to full 808's first
Omg you just reminded me of that masterpiece
Absolutely
Not really
@@pawem2173 he’s gonna think it’s boring
Kanye is a top tier performer. His tours are amazing, and refers to his shows as full on plays. His energy is always there.
hes performance of black skinhead on snl is fire too
During the Yeezus Tour performance of this song there was full on fire and craziness happening. That concert was basically performance art, there was a mountain with a demon and he was in jeweled masks until Jesus came and lifted it off but not before laying on a moving cliff as snow fell on him and he sang about his mom dying.
My wife was in tears, it was pretty heavy. The man is a lot of things but among them you have to call him a showman.
I went to the TLOP show in atlanta and I agree. Shit was magical and chaotic at the same time.
Can’t wait for you to listen to my dark twisted fantasy it was given best hip-hop album of the 10s by a lot of credible reviews. Also has a lot of energy like yeezus but in a different style.
To me, MBDTF is Kanye making the most maximalist, perfected, layered hip-hop album whereas Yeezus is the complete opposite but on purpose; as a protest to the music industry
He’s A Great Performer His Coachella Set Is One Of The Best Shows I Ever Seen
The sample is Nina Simone saying: "Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze."
He knows
It's very appropos you talk about "performance". Kanye's performances are unmatched in hip-hop, and imo music in general.
Definitely an aspect of his career that is worth looking into all itself.
You should totally react to kids see ghosts, you'll love that record
If you want to continue listening to Kanye West try to go through his discography in chronological order. That's without yeezus since you already listened to that. Since you like heavy production on albums like tyler and kanye I suggest you to listen to artists like Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Daft Punk, Mike Dean etc, some talented dudes. Also try some of Kanye's unreleased work, really nice stuff as well.
I don’t think he’ll like Blond or Channel Orange because he wants heavy production more so like Yeezus. Death Grips he’ll love a lot.
@@ayamurayama3961 You're right about that. Forgot about death grips but yeah he will love that.
He will love WLR when he gets round to it lmao. As a metalhead I love WLR
Definitely check out all the live performances of songs you’ve listened to during album reactions, it makes it that much more immersive
gotta watch the most unruly videos on the college dropout and yeezus and watch them after every kanye album nobody has ever done it, and you got to do all the kanye albums in order, and can’t wait for dark fantasy reaction, you’ll see why.
I love that you’re reacting to live performances! Kanye has some super emotional live songs (Runaway, Pinocchio story, etc…) that I’d love to also see reactions to once you listen to those off of the albums
Really Enjoying your reactions! Cannot wait for more Kanye and in general more Hip Hop :)
Glad you watched!
Happy to have recommended it, didn't expect you to react.
You get soooooo many suggestions now.
That last portion after the final verse still gives me chills.
I get So. Many. Suggestions. My "list" has turned into an endless scroll of names and albums and songs lol
You are well spoken. I respect your open mind and wish you a successful RUclips career. You have gained a sub
Just found your channel and I'm enjoying your reactions and insights so much. Looking forward to the future content coming!
You should check out "Blood on the Leaves - live at the Saint Pablo Tour" Its an insane stage concept and I feel like you would really like it :)
Kanye also said that the second new slaves verse was like the greatest written verse of all time or something lol, and it is damn good
kanye’s black skinhead snl performance is probably my favorite performance of all time, you should react to it
Mad respect for doing this reaction I always thought this live performance captures Kanye at his best giving a powerful performance with just him and the mic.
You talked about performances, the yeezus tour that happened when the album came out was a expirience, it was a real performance, the concerts had a story, it was symbolic, full of religious images and powerful, maybe the best live tour ever, it is very long so idk if u have time to react to it but i reccomend watching it here on youtube
Listened to ninas song and came back to this vid. Thank you for including the link
have you watched him perform Bound 2 on the Jools Holland show? Charlie Wilson was amazing
wow man your channel is growing pretty fast. Congrats bro! Keep up the good work
One of my favorites of his and I still remember the sensation when I heard him perform it live back in 2016 on tour. So glad I got to experience that, rapped a long to every word!
Love the reactions ,next album should be 808s and Heartbreak, very emotional and vulnerable as well as a gateway for newer artists of this generation - huge Kanye Fan btw
When I saw him live. It was this song and runaway that let me know despite what anyone thinks. This man is a musical genius and an incredible live performer
Dudes reactions are always dope man
I love the ending, you can feel such emotion in his voice
when he does the scream towards the end of the performance that shit gives me chills everytime, fits so well somehow. man is such a living legend
his bound 2 performance for this same show is real good as well!! a must watch
With uncle Charlie, outstanding version!
If you like more of Kanye's agressive stuff, I'd recommend to listen to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, The Life of Pablo, Ye and Kids see Ghosts.
My beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is kind of a "Grande" album, amazing prodcution (a lot of Rock elements), he mainly speaks about the hate he had on the few past years and how he has overcome it, and also kanye's best Album
The Life of Pablo is a bit of a mess, really meaningfull with the whole "Pablo" concept, also agressive and controversial
Ye is a small album, really experimental and with some amazing tracks like Ghost Town (which is kind of a Rock song)
Kids see Ghosts is a collaborative album he did with Kid Cudi, it's basically a continuation of Ye and it's also very experimental, it has alot of Rock Samples and it's just amazing.
Probably missed alot of stuff about the albums, but this is just from the top of my head...
I would advise to listen to these in order, but if you are more interested on a specific album, go ahead!
I’m loving these Kanye videos. Keep it up!
Bob is gaining popularity exponentially!
let's go, you're reacting to my favorite live performance of my favorite song EVER
Long time Kanye fan here- love the videos. I don't think I've heard this performance yet but wow!!
You don't have to sing out of tune with autotune, it just corrects the notes, phrases that are not in the key. So you still have to reach for the right notes that are in a particular melody, and autotune just corrects some out of key moments
Woo you are mentioning tool again, cool! They are one of my favourite bands
You gotta watch Ye's live performance of all day at the 2015 brit awards you'll love it!
Yes
The SNL performances he did for Black Skinhead is also well worth your time, he has a few iconic SNL performances.
Man I love to see a dude like this take this music serious wish my rock listening friends would lol
Kanye's Life Of Pablo tour has some of my favorite Kanye live performances If you wanted to see more of him live
My main man Bob! Excellent reaction vid, I love to hear what Kanye sounds like to someone that isn't as familiar with his work as a fan would be. So thank you for stepping out of your cultural comfort zone and checking Ye out.
Secondly I couldn't agree with you more, I've said for years that Strange Fruit should be part of our children's music curriculum. Along side a historical analysis of what happened in this country and how this country was funded for hundreds of years on slave labor. But letting kids hear a song as powerful as Strange Fruit and explaining the meaning behind it, letting kids feel the enormity that the song and what life was like under Jim Crow, that will only lead to a curiosity that will allow kids to do their own research and come to their own conclusions. Without the left or right media telling them how they should feel about this countries original sin. Rock on Homey!
I cannot listen to this song without getting hyped and rapping it. You should react to the all day live performance
im pretty sure that auto tune can be set to a separate track that is synched to the actual track playing, and does the effect in time with the music, like a midi effect track in a daw... allowing the specific amount of effect of the input (mic) in real time. . love these vids man , good stuff..
Your reactions are honestly great. Do you plan on sticking to reacting to rap? Because I (and I believe others aswell) would definitely watch you reacting to other stuff too (like rock artists you don't know, for example).
808s and heartbreaks live at the Hollywood bowl is a must watch!
Happy that the Kanye Cultis blwing up your channel :)
Check out his performances of “coldest winter” too. Also very emotional, generally goes on some random riffs about his mom/life mid way through the song. And to your point about his live shows, he can bring the big stage production or just slow it down and enthrall you with his nuanced emotion. He’s a master of his craft(s).
Love Ye...his performances are always EPIC
That’s a common misconception. You don’t have to sing out of key to make autotune work. You actually have to be able to somewhat hold a note for it to work. People think autotune makes anything sound good or that anyone who doesn’t know how to sing can sound good on autotune which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Blood on the leaves led me to the sample and now I’ve got a Nina Simone collection too. Thank you Ye🕊️
Good reaction ❤️
Hey man, you’re my favorite music react channel by far. I love how you’re just one dude vibing out and being honest and loving your own interpretations.
If you started a patreon where people could pay for requests I would join. If you want to get deeper into rap, you should know that Madvillainy by Madvillain is probably the best rap album of all time.
If you want to explore music even further, i think Discovery by Daft Punk is one of the best and most influential albums of all time. I know a lot of people in the comments will agree with both of these sentiments. The latter album has some rock influence that you’ll resonate with, but it’s just a beautiful board of sound. Cheers
Madvillainy is on my list. That's been mentioned quite a bit. Thanks for the compliment on the channel :)
I'm staying away from things like Patreon for now because I want this to remain fun. If it turns into work and obligations, I worry I'll lose interest and eventually stop.
Highly recommend seeing his live performance of ONLY ONE. Beautiful performance.
You should watch 808s and heartbreak live at the Hollywood bowl
fun fact, strange fruit is a cover of the billie holiday song of the same title, and theres a billie holiday movie coming out (may have already)!
You need to listem to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy! My absolute favourite!
All day is one of Kanye’s best live performances.
That sample blood on the leaves was first done by Billie holiday in 1939 the song is about racism slavery lynchings torture and the overall oppression of black people at the time. As song goes Southern trees bear a strange fruit, Blood on the leaves and Blood at the root, Black body swinging in the southern breeze, strange fruit hanging from the poplar tress symbolizing the brutal torture and lynching of many African Americans in case anybody wanted to truly know what blood on the leaves really means.
I can't stress enough how much I am enjoying Kanye's performances
Kanye performing live is an experience, his glastonbury fest set is iconic to me
Check out the Black Skinhead live on SNL, the performance is powerful
Of course he's sincere.. cant u tell?? 😐 Ye also always pays homage to and uplifts hip hop culture thru his choice of samples and rhyme phrases/styles/references. Masterful💯
Can't wait to see what you think about My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy !
this is amazing
You HAVE to react to his SNL Black Skinhead performance, it’s one of his best
That Nina Simone version of Strange Fruit song is a cover of Billie Holiday. Definitely checkout the OG version too.
His Yeezus Tour performance of this song is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen
This song is amazing!
My favorite Kanye live performance is at the Brit Awards when he performed “All Day” with a bunch of grime artists on stage in front of a crowd of unenthusiastic rich folks (and Taylor Swift). You should check it out
The autotune here is like a super saturated live corrector, but the magic of it is that Kanye knows exactly the range he needs to go for the autotune to correct it to another tone, like at the end of the original song where he crates like a wave of notes, watch how he opens his mouth at the end of the performance, its pure autotune manipulation.
Rocker needs to react to DEATH GRIPS
Experimental Hip-Hop at its finest.
React to Money Store or Bottomless Pit
Watch Pinnochio Story at Hollywood Bowl in 2015, absolutely genius.
Kanye was soo hated when this came out. you kinda need to listen to his albums (or read about them) in order to understand why Fans weren't feeling it much (in addition to the "GOD COMPLEX" he was going through)
Damn he sounds good live here
Kanye all day British awards performance is super dope
Respect bro
cool review ,go see the SNL blackkskin head its just wow and by the way nice painting in the background
U should react to his live performance of black skinhead on snl it was very very very unique I think you’ll like it.
i’ve always thought blood on the leaves is about someone who loses their identity to fame, fortune, and celebrity. in an odd way, i think the sample has relevance, strange fruit and the idea of being a slave to the image of yourself, so much so that you lose yourself. years ago, i saw somewhere that it could be loosely about kanye’s mom, obviously he supported her monetarily (first verse). how he’s been troubled since her passing because he never got to save her from his image/antics (second verse), or reconcile for them before she was gone. that’s why this performance is so powerful
I have a cool suggestion, do a live stream and react to live shows from artists and albums you have recently reacted and listened to!
Hey man, What are your thoughts on Volbeat (Danish rock band)?
Love This Track ❤🤗🌟 big luv Ye
I recommend you watch some of the yeezus tour clips on RUclips, they are insane!
Kanye is the greatest artists of the 21st century just check his tours albums fashion shoes producers beats influence on his peers
The Black skinhead SNL performance is amazing, you should definitely check that one out
Please watch the live performance of "Pinocchio Story" live at the Hollywood Bowl (2015). It is my favourite live performance by Kanye.
I highly urge you to listen to a track called Be Free by J. Cole (the live version specifically, I think on Letterman).
It's not rock or anything but it's one of, if not the most emotional rendition of something I've seen in a while. The pain in his voice and the performance is so sincere and haunting imo. The song itself is also special. Even without a video, I'd advise you to check it out, but I think a reaction would be pretty cool :) J. Cole is a pretty dope artist in general
Side note - Please go down the Kanye rabbit hole, I would go next to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, I think the majority of people agree it's his magnum opus and it's an insane album, well worthy of a reaction/review.
I got the chance to see him do this live during the yeezus tour at MSG. It was amazing.
Kanye is the genius of live echos the way his echos grab ur attention is crazy he’s the only artist I kno that can do that
PLEASE watch his snl performance of black skinhead it is amazing and also BOUND 2 they are both so raw and shocking and fun
