big respect for that board control on such a face 👊

God snowboarding just looks so much worse than skiing in these variable backcountry conditions, he just side slipped down the entire top section on the same edge because there isn’t much else you can do to control speed on a face like that. Love me some snowboarding in perfect conditions it looks so good and surfy but man…

Agreed, the real problem is ballerina 360s(no grab) and no grab backflips making this look like 90s shit…. These guys cant avoid the shitty conditions to sideslip…😂 but they could have some style😢

@@IHatePikeys Love to see you have some style doing a 360 on a 40% angle icy chute at 50 km/h

@@tasiociafancelli9912Umm....Yeah I've 360d with grabs in chutes in big mountains before...Why are you riding an icy chute too fast to not have style in the first place? Victor is a true freestyle and very capable rider and is using the shitty standard of the FWT to have shit style...hahahaha

These riders were dealt a losing hand with the conditions. Not entertaining to watch and dangerous to the competitors.
Natural selection is miles above the FWT. Either wait for good conditions or host these events at heli ski operations.

Hell yah they do! Kinetically riding moguls and crusty snow on skis are much more effective. Why not just host the events at heli skiing or cat skiing operations?
It would just be much better to watch and a lot safer for the athletes.

@@freshseekerWhat? Skiers also looked bad in general, and crashed left and right and several of the athletes got injured. Yes skiers have better tools for this kind of insanely dangerous and hard freeride, but this was a bad venue (with so little and variable/bad snow, so many areas of sharp rocks and so few good drop/jump possibilities).

83 is not respectful, he did better than the winner on ski that did 92

what a joke! he was sideways most of the way at the top and was so sketchy. its night and day between the skiers

This venue was HORRIBLE for snowboarders tho! (And I'm mainly a skier, and I agree skis are better for freeride in general, but this venue was extremely hard for snowboarders).

@@LynXLuvBCompleX well, last year's Georgia venue was borderline perfect, and still skiers went head, shoulders and everything else above sbowboarders

@@klas-666 It's kinda understandable when you consider that skiers have a movable platform of support and two edges instead of a rigid-one shape platform an one and only edge of a snowboard. I do both, obviously far from the level of these athletes, and the amount of saves and corrections you can do on skis is obscene compared do snowboard...
