Loving this open detecting Gary, it is easy to get bogged down and confused with adjustments to the machine but really when the factory programs have been so well programmed already, it makes life so much easier. Great to see you finding some amazing things using the factory programs.
Well Lanly Prater an john Kelly from Louisiana USA told me to watch your videos about Deus XP and it was the best advice I could have ever gotten. Used Simplex + 11 months until I met Lane Prater and I'm green around these 61 years young but I'm giving it my best shot especially after seeing your Instructional Videos. Thank you so much for taking the time to make such Detailed Instructions. Laissez Le bon ton roulette 🤟
Love that pewter bell! I only have the 9" elliptical but I want to get one more, X35 coil so I can go over the same ground and find different / deeper targets. If you could only buy one extra, would you go for the 11 or 13"? Thanks for your help.
If you have moderately mineralized ground then you could use the 13". Also, you already have the elliptical coil for separation, so you could change to that if you find an iron patch.
@@1LWiLNY Iron is a bit of a problem on my permissions, they are old orchards (100 - 150 years old) and iron chatter is common on the hot programme, which I use most of the time. Perhaps the lack of good target separation might make the X35 coils difficult to use? Thanks for your help.
@@Wally-H I think the 9 or 11 inch would be your best bet. The x35 coils are best for depth, which offer a 4kHz boost mode to add depth. Maybe check out the 9” hf coil
Thanks Gary, I think I have been swinging too slow on the deep program, I'll try to match your pace next time out. I got it in my head that deeper means lower frequency which means a slower swing. On another video, you talked about reactivity so I think I may be getting confused about what relates to swing speed. Any corrective comments are appreciated. Thanks again.
This is the fifth year of common life between DEUS and I. Knowledge about law frequency technics is what my experience miss. So what you do is a real treasure for me... and for some other people too, surely ! Thanks for all
@@The-skillschool I should be thanking you, your videos are the reason I picked up the Deus in the first place. Your videos are always quality and packed with great info. Honestly, keep up the great work.
I will definitely give Gmaxx a go next time I'm on the grass fields. I've found that if I notch the audio response up to 4 on the hot program (my aging musicians ears are not what the once were) I'm still able to pick out buttons from a good 9 inches down. I think that audio response is something a lot of new users struggle with, they miss those little signals.
I am really tempted to change my 11' coil with the 13' coil. Is there a significant depth difference for coin sized targets ? I mean only for coins not big deep relics ?
Thank you, Gary. When I just got a Deus, on the first exit on the 5th program, I found a silver jewelry! Now I use the 6th program. Did I understand correctly, if there is a lot of grass, it is better to use G-MAXX?
Exactly the same pasture as one of my fields Gaz. Easy digging high water table it surprises me ancient finds do not sink out of range. No problem for the Deus. I think you've shown these pre set programs are there for a reason. How often do we hear what's the best program for certain sites, the answer is its already installed and more than capable of great results. That GMax was impressive for sure. 👍👍
i just got my 3rd deus lite with ws5, hope this time i can learn it hahaha, ill watch more of ur videos and see if i learn anything, eastern canada here...
Hello mate, really pleased you featured the GMaxx preset, it's so underrated. I use it on stubble when there's not too much iron, in a punchy 2 tone version sent to me by Nigel at Regton. ATB MMMD
Hello Garry, thank you for this video always very interesting, I wanted to know what settings are to be made with the ORX to have the equivalent of the GMAX DEUS?? responsiveness 2.5, 11kzh, discrimination 6.5, sensitivity 90 program COIN DEEP;.. thank you in advance and I share on my FACEBOOK good day soon Toch, Gironde, France

what I learned today is confirmation that I definitely want an XP Deus.
Go for it Dani 👍
I think you will not regret, I've owned several detectors but the Deus is still with me :-)

@@Wally-H yeah the 11” is what most people use. The 13” is good for hoards of you hunt that sort of thing lol.
Take care!
Great video, Gary! Those bank tokens are fantastic!
Thanks Grant I have some better pictures on the skill school Facebook page.
Still using my trusty Gmaxx2, incredible detector for hammies and deep finds. Going to buy a xp lite setup, hope it can compete with it!
Great tips there Gary. You’re such a good communicator too: concise and entertaining :).
Thanks for your kind words 🤝

Find a reactivity that matches your sweep Danny.
@@The-skillschool Thank you for that. Looks like I have some experimenting to do.
Nice to see you using the 13" X35 coil Gary!!! Another great educational video - Thumbs Up -.

You have all of my admiration. That digging, particularly in wet soil, is hard on us old guys.

Great episode Gary !!
Thanks DC
Great video as always Gary thanks for the adventure.. that seems like some great land producing some really good targets I’m jealous 😉
Occasionally we hit a good spot, but it's hard work finding it.
@@The-skillschool nice though two silver coins and a nice bell can’t go wrong nice finds mate
Excellent video!! You have a great field to hunt!! I've never seen that large coil for the Deus, but I will investigate. What is the "Gmax" program??

Great please keep us posted on the XP Adventures page 👍
Hallo where can we find the gmaxx program
I am really tempted to change my 11' coil with the 13' coil. Is there a significant depth difference for coin sized targets ? I mean only for coins not big deep relics ?
Not really, the 11" is probably the best option for coins.

The video was made with the Deus 1 a year ago.

Firmware for xp orx new adjustment of weak and loud signal and 5 tones instead of 3 tones, target response speed 5 instead of 3.
Great video as usual Gary, Might give GMax a go myself, never used it before !
Well worth a try
Great video!
looking good!
Thanks Gary, will have to try the GMax program on my pasture fields in future
I need help with coke my deus loves it and have to dig them because in same vdi range as hammered coins and gold
Tryed it on a horsefield... Put it on fulltones and -2.8Disc... found me 2 small Coins from 1792 called 2 stuber... ill try it Next Time on a Field
Excellent finds and educational video Gary ! I will be paying more mind to the 5gm program.
I use a kneeler pad (like for gardeners) so mykneew don't get wet in soggy ground.
*13 inch coil is very unbalanced and heavy..i have in my xp deus arsenal only 9 and 11 inch x35 coil...*
Fair play 👍
The first time I used my 13" X35 for 4 hours, I didn't find much difference to the weight and balance compared to my original 11" coil.
Silver👍👍👍👍🤩
Gmax 👍👍👍 gary 👏👏👏🤝
Gary drayton how’s he doing

You only seem to find coins, even deep. Please be honest, most of the time a deep good sounding target in the 90's is a big ugly iron.
Unfortunately that is the case with some signals they overlap, only way to check them is to dig them up 😊😢 happy hunting from down under.
Цікаво розповідає, шкода що не українською. Знахідки хороші. Мені цікаво, а там більше ніхто не ходить з металошукачем?
