I'm so stoked. Hardcover sets please! Slip cases! The Great Pendragon Campaign in HC! I've got a collection piecemeal. Mostly softcover. I'd love to be able to replace my old collection with a new one. Pendragon has always had a place on my shelf.
Sounds like a blast. I've been eyeing Pendragon for a while now and am stoked to hear about a brand new edition that I can sink my teeth (and wallet) into. I do wonder how easy it would be to convert the setting to cover other similar folkores such as the Welsh Mabinogion.
Pendragon has always been my faviorite system designed, and will always be my fav system. Nothing replaces playing a noble knight, or one who is subtle but honorable at face
I wonder if current supplements can still be used. If, for example, I own the "Book of Knights and Ladies" or the "Book of the Manor," will they need to be re-purchased under a 6th-edition version?
I really hope that 6th edition focus on what’s essential to the game - i.e. playing medieval Arthurian knights - instead of introducing or expanding on such stuff as player paladins or mages. Time would be better spent on streamlining and making coherent a lot of the already great material that’s out there. I mean, what 5th edition really needed was some great editing, not reinventing.
My ultimate wish list would be: Boxed starter set containing an updated version of what I have in my 1st ed box, hardcover full colour rules, map sets (an Argan Argar scale book of Britannia/Britain/Prydein), illuminated special edition in script, dice sets, equipment card decks, history decks (cards of famous locations visited so you can build your own history), an expanded nationalities book (Bretons, Franks, Scotti, etc). I have everything there is for Pendragon except Land of Giants so a new one of those would be nice... oh, and a new Savage Mountains book as it's my main setting book and is looking rough lol
This sounds wonderful. I really liked ideas of locations and equipment decks. I don't even know how I'd use them yet but I already love the idea.... And just the idea of illuminated editions just made my heart flutter.
I bought everything I could for 5th edition about a year and a half ago, maybe right at the start of the pandemic. The problem I had, even after plunking down all the cash, was that there was simply too many books to read, they were dry, textbooks about mechanics and rules. Now, the idea, the concept, the GPC the story, and the way the game functioned were all very interesting but I just couldn’t slog my way through all the text in order to actively run the game. I have the same problem getting into RuneQuest: Glorantha, there is so much and none of it seems to be written or focused on getting new players into the game. I sincerely hope that when I buy 6th edition it is runnable for a complete newb and that it doesn’t feel like I need to take multiple courses on the subject to actually run it.
You just need the core rulebook to get started. The GPC is cool as it gives you a complete overview of the story, but dont feel like you have to read it all at first. The rest is entirely optional. Maybe try to get your hands on some adventure books from 4th ed, like Takes of the Specter kings. It's great to get started to understand what zee and how to run KAP adventures
@@griselame Thanks for the advice. I’m currently working my way through all this Glorantha lore and planning to run Eleven Lights, maybe by then KAP6 will be out and I can give it another shot.
@@PilafIsACookingMethod Glorantha has a truly dense body of lore behind it (which is understandable given that Greg et al had been writing of since the 1960s). There are multiple 'layers' towards its approach as well, so yeah, I'd agree to just worry about the Core Rules for right now. That's all one really needs to get involved with the world, and then just add more depth (as a GM or as a player) as you feel like taking a few more steps towards the deep end. Rush in too quickly, and anyone can easily find themselves over their head!
I'm looking forward to seeing that Pendragon starter set! Its approach as a small campaign seems fantastic and very appropriate for this game. I will certainly use it to try to make this fantastic game known to players who have not yet had the chance to know it yet. And it would be great to have the opportunity to enjoy it soon also in Spanish 😉
Does this mean that there will be a new version of Paladin? Or is Paladin set and done? I do not have it yet, just wondering if I should hold off on Paladin for now if there is going to be a new version.
I really do wonder how this game will develop even further. To be honest, for me personally I'd like to see the game go back to more of its earlier simplicity. It's not a really hard game to understand, but there's so much extra material for all the kinds of different knights types to play these days, that I have a hard time getting an good overlook. Perhaps early on divide the rulebook into different chapters for different ages; like one for Uther Era play, one for Early Arthur play, etc. And perhaps somehow cross index those parts with different nationality and culture.
Revealed in the end of april but i can't find an approximative release date? Will 6th edition come out "soon", cause i've read a lot about Pendragon in the last few days and i really want to play but obviously i'd wait for the 6th edition if it's coming out in 2 months instead of buying all the 5e books now.
I hope this doesn't become 'english fairy tales with paladins and wizards' when Pendragon 5e was such a great way for me (a welsh man) to engage with our mythology..
The biggest issues for newcomers to Pendragon in 2021: • Lack of racial diversity • Lack of gender diversity • Problematic plots (incest, rape, murdering babies) • A *lot* of canon to get your head around as a gamemaster • Lack of Roll20 package to play online Biggest issues for veterans: • More interactions with "canonical" characters • Becoming the hero (e.g., Grail Questers) rather than "observers" to the events occurring around you • More world-altering - taking the game off the canonical track
Seriously? You want to make a politically correct version of Pendragon? Of course there's no race or gender equality! The game is based on medieval customs and the harshness of those days. Get a grip!
@@dracopticon7788 all opinions are valid. Is it likely to be take up? Maybe not, so no need to berate a fan. Besides, Chivalry & Sorcery 5th edition shows there can be racial and gender diversity backed up by historical records.
I use the rules to play a more historical "Arthur" (Owain, Bear of Britain) so no incest storyline, no may-babies incident, no Lancelot, no Grail, Maelgwyn instead of Mordred, Viroconium and the city of legions instead of Camelot, etc. My point is, your game is what you make it. :)
@@dracopticon7788 This is a bad take for a number of reasons. RUclips comments section isn’t gonna help you realize that though, so I just want you to know your take is bad. I think you should learn to not hang on to the idea that a game based on fictional characters and mythology needs to be “historically accurate.”

i guess I'm kind of off topic but do anybody know a good website to watch new tv shows online ?
@Tony Bowen flixportal :D
@Joel Trevor Thank you, I went there and it seems to work =) I really appreciate it!
@Tony Bowen No problem =)

Will the great pendragon campaign book be compatible with 6e?
I'm hyped! Oh, if you could, try to release a special dice set for the game as well! Would love to see a Pendragon dice set.
Yes yes I second that! I would love to see those special Pendragon dice from the Kickstarter!
I can't wait to get my hands on Pendragon!
This was said to come out forever ago.
What is the official release?
Foundry VTT module planned?

Is this still happening?
