No matter what anyone says about PNE, Deepdale is always quite a tricky place to go. Whatever the Blades line up is on Friday night I just hope that there is a great team spirit and togetherness with the fans on this opening night and for the rest of the season .. very important ingredients for success. We have made some very good signings and hopefully with a few more additions, there is no reason why we can't be challenging for the TOP automatic spot come the end of the season. Actually quality of player excitement is O'Hare, but the one I think will end up being our most important will be Moore. My predicted lineup, although I'm a bit unsure with a couple: Gk-Davies Rb-Gilchrist Cb's-Anel and Robbo Lb-Burrows CM's-Souza and Arblaster LW-Hamer RW-Brooks AM-O'Hare St-Moore I reckon 2-1 Blades last minute winner
I think Burrows may take a while to get used to Championship pace, but once he does will be instrumental for us. If we get Rak-Sakyi he will be the one who gets Blades fans on their feet multiple times per game and provide lots of goals n assists.
Most exciting signing: Burrows or Moore (very happy with O'Hare and Souttar too, but I think Burrows has the most potential and Moore is basically like if McBurnie actually bagged bare goals) My predicted lineup is going to have a few that I think people will disagree with: GK-Davies RB-Anel RCB-Souttar LCB-Robbo/Trusty (depending on if Preston have tall strikers) LB-McCallum CM-Souza CM-Blaster RW-Burrows/O'Hare CAM-Hamer LW-Burrows/O'Hare CF-Moore if fit, Brewster if not. I know everyone will say "Anel isn't a Right Back and Burrows is a left back" but hear me out Gilchrist has JUST arrived and only got 500 minutes of senior football. Anel COULD play as a full back. Maybe not the pace for a RWB but in a back 4 he'd be decent. And Burrows... I suspected before that with signing him AND McCallum, burrows would be being brought in as more of an attacking winger (a position he HAS played before) with McCallum and RND (if he's ever fit again) being the left backs. Could even deploy Robbo at LB in a 4, even though he definitely isn't a wing back, as an "old fashioned left back" he'd be great at that I think Gilchrist will take the RB slot as his own pretty soon, quicker than Doyle and McAtee made it into the squad in 22/23, but I think for now, unless Shackleton is fully fit I think it's probably Anel starting there
