How To Use PSD Mockups WITHOUT Photoshop
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 9 фев 2025
- PSD mockups are pre-made Photoshop templates that are intended to give your designs a real-world look and feel. All you have to do is open the PSD template with Photoshop, drop your own design into the Smart Layer, then let the template work its magic in applying your design to the product.
The main problem we face as GIMP users is that the templates are intended for use with Photoshop. PSD files can be opened with GIMP, but GIMP can’t make use of Smart Layers, which is required to apply your design to the mockup. In this video I'll be demonstrating how to get around that though and use PSD mockups without Photoshop.
You can check out my recommendations for where to find both free and premium mockup templates in the original post I wrote for my website: logosbynick.co...

You condensed my week of frustration down to 3 minutes. I almost had it and knew surely I'm missing one step. All instructions said to double click on the layer labeled for your design. My problem was I wasn't clicking the layer at all but was just clicking where you could change the name of the layer. I wished I'd found your video a week ago. Thank you so much!

I tried this and although it applied my logo to the template, it turned out pixelated in some areas and created some transparent holes. Maybe it works better with a flat black and white logo with less detail. Thanks for making this video. I've used Photopea a few times in the past, but didn't know it could do this until now. I'll give it another try with a different template and logo and see how it goes.
It seems to be a great tool to make effects more practical, without the need to open a software. Nice ;)
*If my English is bad, it's Google Translate fault XD
@Thiago Abreu Mas olha só quem está por aqui :) Aprendi muita coisa com seus tutoriais quando conheci o Inkscape!!
@Thiago Abreu Opa, vou me inscrever ;) Eu até estava procurando o seu canal esses dias, sem sucesso ;-;
Tem muita coisa que eu ainda tenho que aprender, quando tiver alguma dúvida já sei com quem contar XD
A cool video series idea:
Make a few polls for we can vote on a business category, name, what emotion or whatever you want to capture with the logo, etc all these things that go into making a brand
Maybe it will take like 5 or 10 polls for the logo/brand
Then you make the logo based on the winning votes
Even if the top votes are ridiculous and silly
Even if it ends up being trash because it was too tough with the silly votes
Would be fun and challenging, motivational
And refreshing
Can help amateurs with brainstorming as you will show somewhat you brainstorming process in a way.
This idea is inspired by a few channels which I can't remember the name of one but the other is Draw with Jazza
He does this but not with logos or brands. He does it with character designs and silly stuff
It's pretty popular amongst the art community
Would be awesome if you do this with your type of content
Thanks its good
Hi Nick! Great tutorial! Do you know if this works with the templates that Printul/Printify provides? I want to apply a custom pattern to a t-shirt mock-up I downloaded from Printify
