I just cant beleive he can sing this good live, not saying he cant, just blows me away, reminds me of my sister, he basicly put lyrics to most of my feelings, fortunate when i cant myself
But part of what makes live music special is the atmosphere. The shivers that go up your spine listening to someone sing live, or joining in with a singalong with friends and strangers. Some truly great songs and singers don't need any "extra shit".
Been a fan of Tom's for many years... the man is brilliant. I sometimes wish he was a massive commercial success, not because I think he's money-hungry, but so as many people as possible can know what he does... but maybe that would change him.
What I love most about Tom, beside his great songs, is that the concerts are just like the cd`s. I mean, thats why I go to a concert, to hear what I like on the cd. Not all the extra shit some artists tend to do live. It just ruins everything, most of the time. Tom live is just like Tom on cd - every time! Oh, and the humour between the songs of course. Actually he`s a funny guy behind all his sad lyrics :)
I can live with my regrets still raise a smile still raise my head and a stranger god can be so cruel and a holy fool is still a fool but this is all I can say
"from twitter: 21 Sep @tommcrae I've been a fan of yours for more than 8 years and I haven't gotten to see you live yet. Touring east coast USA soon? tom mcrae @tommcrae 21 Sep @newbieboka been trying to get back for ever. But next year is possible! "
Close my eyes, I'm moving still magazines and dollar bills, and you wake up to a fall of snow, your telephone your radio baby I'll call up a storm keep you safe from harm but you only disappear
I kind of get your point, but that an artist's performance live is just like on the cd, to me, is a bad thing. It is however nice that Tom's songs doesn't get worse live, that he keeps his standards. But "all the extra shit some artists tend to do live" is what makes concerts so great. To hear an artist improving what was already perfect, if you know what I mean...
I'll try to put (here) a video of this concert today...But this vid' isn't great...I've tried to take another video but the security has asked to me to erase it!
The chap was a few years too early. Tom would have absolutely dicked on James Blunt and the rest of them. Such a shame. He is worth three of most singer/songwriters that follwed him. Unlucky in my opinion, not that I think he would care. Its about the music to him.
That must be one of the dumbest comments I`ve ever red. Sorry, but true. If you dont know what I ment about the cd`s, I find it hard to believe you`ve ever been to a concert. Why go to a restaurant when you can eat at home? Why go to a football match when you can watch on tv? Why go on holiday when you can stay at home and relax?
Utter genius. One of the most underrated musicians of all time
Will always be our song. ❤ Miss you. Such a great song.
So underrated ,a great song writer ,and that voice is amazing so mesmerising.
This was the first song I ever heard Tom sing live during a soundcheck. It was breathtaking! I'll never forget it, sigh.
Great song...Tom McRae is a great singer/songwriter...I've seen him yesterday in Brussels...wonderfull!
I've seen him perform live and was so utterly impressed, no other artist has ever compared!
Tom is amazing! One of the greatest singer/songwriters in the world!
Still listening to his songs and still love them :P
I just cant beleive he can sing this good live, not saying he cant, just blows me away, reminds me of my sister, he basicly put lyrics to most of my feelings, fortunate when i cant myself

with a smile that says goodbye
baby says goodbye

AngelaBoston, I love you for this one!! :)
I wish Ash Soan was still with the band. He was such a good drummer and such a cool guy.
elle met au bout du rouleau cette chanson!
"Ghost of a Shark" has to be up there as one of his best, but then all his songs are awesome!
I can live with my regrets
still raise a smile
still raise my head
and a stranger god can be so cruel
and a holy fool is still a fool
but this is all I can say
I saw him in Rosin Dubhs in Galway some time back he really is a fantastic talent.

Wow that is remarkable. A great artist will use his influence to influence other I guess. This was in London? (I'm only guessing)
Without a Trace... Malone & Spade...

If you go to concerts only to hear the songs on the cd, wtf is the point of going at all!? Then you can just listen to the cd at home.
I would love to see him, but I'm in the US. He never comes here. :(
I'll try to put (here) a video of this concert today...But this vid' isn't great...I've tried to take another video but the security has asked to me to erase it!
Alex from target
Bizarrely, I work in a prison. Young Offenders, he came to play for the lads.

Two ends

I hate how the mediocre songs are just vehicles for his great voice. Never any catchy tune.
