It's no longer classified as a philodendron! It's Thaumatophyllum spruceanum now

Great options- agreed with 100% of what you said. Thanks! Also, there’s one guy I had totally forgotten about that I’d love- crassinervium is so cool.

Great suggestions, although I've been trying to opt to non-toxic plants, these are very tempting.

I have been trying to get away from aroids in general, one of my latest finds is Chamaecostus cuspidatus ‘Silver Samba’, which was apparently found in Roberto Burle Marx's garden, or it makes a good story at least. The entire plant is actually edible, the flowers are quite nice in fact. It is incredibly rare though. Really easy grower, I'm not doing anything special with it. Always recommending Aechmea tayoensis, its a large bromeliad painted red on the petioles, not that often bromeliads have petioles, gives it kind of the shape of a self heading philodendron. another easy grower, but not the easiest plant to find though. While I'm oversharing Aechemea correia-araujoi is another stunning rare bromeliad, the camoflauge pattern is especially brilliant plants sired from one from Elton Leme's collection, will usually have "Leme" in the name. Broms need more love, lol.

My philodendron bipennifolium or "violin philodendron' also got sold to me as a philodendron dragon tail. It took me a while to figure out what it really was, but I must say it became one of my absolute favorites!

I think this is really helpful, there are so many Philos on the market. P. subhastatum should get a lot more red on the underside as it matures. While its kind of large the vining is more compact than a lot of similar plants, which helps. If you have seen a specimen plant its very regal, I want to say leaves are about 20-24",but I am really bad at that stuff.. Redleaf is selling seed grown Spiritus sancti for 200. now, what a difference a year or two makes.
