Those backflips of Ítalo everytime he wins is so cool to watch. I would love to see him celebrating with the Tahitian dancers as every previous winners does. He's energy was so high that would be fun to watch.😂 As for the final Italo got the best wave of the heat and surfed it accordingly. His top score was a proper juicy tahitian bomb.
Man like Brazilian we usually like a lot JJ vibes person and surf, all respect for him. The problem is, the WSL judges that making shits over notes couple times.

John was so under-scored!! Backhand, no grab, unbelievably critical behind and over huge gnarly foam balls, barely hanging on but still with perfect style! Italo's waves were beautiful, but he was always comfortably going to make the tube. Great heat, and it's nice that a WSL contest finally had good conditions! But I think the judges only realize and appreciate how gnarly John is barely half the time!
Congrats Italo, you deserved this one. Unlucky on this one John, but I think the big win this year is now yours. Some cracking surfing in this event, well done to all. :)
Sometimes I think that the WSL deliberately tests people’s patience. It’s a disrespect to the audience to have given a 9.33 for that wave, obviously the right score would be much lower than that. Such an ugly thing.
John John totally over scored on that main wave. Italo was clearly the man of the moment. Mother nature provided him the incredible opportunities. VIVA ITALO. What a brilliant competition!! The elimination round felt like you were watching finals! The level of surfing is just INCREDIBLE!! Every CT surfer is my hero!! What incredible human beings!!! 🤩👏🔥♥
It was the heaviest wave bar none. It made a shockwave. No other wave except JJF's failed 1st wave had any Shockwave on it (1st wave just a bit of shockwave but the bomb he made was a clearly Shockwave). People do not know that all but this bomb was a real and true variation of what this wave is known for. Look at bigger days. ALL waves are full on shockwaves.
Stoked for John headed towards possibly another world title and Italo sending it! So sick to see firing, death defying waves and the best in the world putting it on the line.

Italo gets a mental bomb gets a 8.93 John John gets one wave that he's not even fully covered by the barrel gets a 9.33... wsl try so hard to give title to Hawaii but even like that still couldn't make that happen ! I feel bad for the athletes wsl should be sued ! By the way nothing against JJF he's definitely one of my favorite surfers ! But WSL you guys are ridiculous !!!

You know what's crazy if you go to the website and see the score break down the Hawaiian judge gave it a 9.8 and American judge 9.5, if that is not blatant bias I do not know what is, although all gave it a 9 or more. Italo's first wave was much better than this one as well, JJ barely disappears, his board is showing the whole time.

Explain to me how a bigger, hollower and longer barrel is not better than one which is smaller where you can basically see the board the whole time? People really do ride JJ's arse crack don't they? Italo is a good fella, bit hyper but there is goodness there. Joe T is so smooth with the presentation always too. Nothing throws him off balance - ZEN!
Great waves finally! Italo clearly won, and Johns wave was over scored bigtime. That said JJF is on fire, and surfing great. Italo was a madman the in all of his heats and deserved it. Some poor judging numbers at times, but at least they didn't turn any important heats, even though that could have happened in this heat. On to the nest stop.
Italo won from the WSL's shameful arbitration and not from John John, even though I'm brazilian, JJ is my favorite surfer, at the time of the award ceremony he looked like a bad loser, smiling a little and with an asshole look on his face, while Italo was as always, that contagious energy, the happiness on her face and smile seeing Vahine's statement shows this a lot, for me she was the one who stole the show at this stage, her emotion when she won the heat and when she was awarded was priceless! They have to learn more from the girls, it is very clear that there is no hatred between them, just rivalry, but they are all rooting for the other's evolution! That's why, being a surfer and skateboarder, I never considered myself a surfer! There should be more of this in surfing, that unity that only skateboarders have!

Então, na minha perspectiva, não existe essa de "mal perdedor", só não faz estardalhaço como alguns brasileiros fazem. Lembro de um comentarista brasileiro ao narrar uma vitória de uma etapa mundial de JJ falando de sua tranquilidade por ter ganho, quase como se tivesse ganho algo simples. E em seguida encetou, "esse é o jeito de JJ". Por isso muitos já disseram que esse jeito do havaiano estava mais para surfista de alma do que para competidor.

Mais uma vez a WSL roubou sub-avaliando as notas do Italo com 2 notas na casa dos 8 sendo estas as duas melhores ondas da bateria....É nitido isso WSL once again tried to underscored Italos best waves on that heat and giving JJs 9 score on a average wave.
Most unlikely, it's always like that, competition is over, people pack it up and leave but some stay on the spot because they know super big waves are coming up. Not the right timing for competitions, they should do them in October or December but well Olympics can't postpone...

Most unlikely, it's always like that, competition is over, people pack it up and leave but some stay on the spot because they know super big waves are coming up. Not the right timing for competitions, they should do them in October or December but well Olympics can't postpone...
