This video is great but there are some big innacuracies in the war of the fourth coalition. France had between 160.000 and 180,000 men at the start of the war, while Prussia had mobilized more than 200,000. The fact that Prussia is shown with less than 100,000 is weird.

Its strange that Napoleonic wars were somewhat similar to WW2 (just interchange Germany and France) Britain fought against the warmonger, Russia initially allied with Invader, Poland got invaded, Russia invaded Finland, a Failed attempt to invade UK by warmonger and finally a failed invasion of Russia, Russia switching sides and conflict ending with fall of Capital to the allies due to warmonger's unwillingness to surrender to allies

Russia was at war with France until 1807, after that they took the side of France, which was in this war not the aggressor at all, but on the contrary. It is also worth saying that Britain and France in WWII initially fought on the side of the aggressor.
All these wars between France provoked and started by BRITANY, how France became a warmonger is known only to one American.

    • @Stan-jq8jr
      @Stan-jq8jr 3 месяца назад +65

You are incorrect in the comparison with WW2. Russia never allied with Germany, but simply signed a non-aggression pact. England signed a similar pact in 1935, way earlier than Russia has. Poland and Hungary have allied themselves with Germany when with France, Belgium and England they gave Czechoslovakia to Germany without even attempting to defend it. Poland and Hungary both got a piece of that land as well. Neither Russia nor Czechoslovakia itself were invited to that summit. Russia offer 1 million men to defend Czechoslovakia, but Poland refused to let them through its territory, since Poland wanted a piece of the lands for itself. After Munich events Russia realized it might have to face future German invasion alone, so it signed a non-aggression pact with them trying to delay the invasion and finish modernization of the Russian army.

That's cause the map is positioned just in Europe, so you lose the context of the age.

However, the guerilla fighting is what made the Peninsular war intolerable for the frence. Keep in mind that in 1811-1812 the allies were cut in half from east to west coast, and by that time Napoleon held all of Europe. Had it not being his invasion to Russia which brought upon him his demise, chances were that eventually he would have occupied all of the Peninsular.

Great vids. Super interesting. Please move the event text at the bottom so it doesnt overlap the youtube video progress bar. It makes it difficult to read them when they display too fast to read and you have to pause the video to read them (which brings up the youtube progress bar for a like three seconds each time you pause / unpause)

For me, the Napoleonic Wars all togheter is WW0, because most of europe declared war on France, plus, all world wars started in europe, so why not this one?

bro you literally said why it wouldnt be a world war. because it was major european war. using that logic i guess the 30 years war and 7 years war could also have been world wars

@@albinskold8792 If I'm not mistaken the Seven years war involved some fighting in the Americas so it would be a better candidate for "WW0" than the Napoleonic Wars for sure

I found this video very good overall but I think it would have been better for people's understanding to put the locations of important battles (battles of waterloo, austerlitz , moskowa ... etc.).
