I don't know if anyone has tried it but, Green bamboo does not break. That Silverback is so strong he could snap it like a twig then crunching on it like celery is just amazing to show you his jaw strength.
Note how the gorilla's scalp moves as he nibbles on the bamboo. Their jaw muscles go all the way up to the top of their head. That's why they have such a strong bite.

stronger than concrete when used as a building material...it takes immense jaw strength to chew this stuff..which is largely the reason gorillas have stronger bite strength than most ....far greater than say the white shark.....and the reason their heads are built that way with muscles supporting their jaws
