    You only used the large washers, got that now. I am moving slowly on this project. Thank you for putting this video to gather. Getting the axles out was a challenge as I did not have a hub puller or a slide hammer. I over came with some out side help.

    The washers that came out looked dished. Did you hammer them flat, or get new ones? Getting ready to lift my M38 to start the disassembly. I really like your videos, they are lots of help. Thank you Tom

    My gap is way out of spec, do you know where I can get thicker thrust washers?

    • @redeyecafegarage7484
      @redeyecafegarage7484  5 месяцев назад

      I’m working on some answers for you. I have used ones from other axles around here. I always hang on to them for that that season. Kaiser does sell replacements. I’m trying to find out what thickness they are. You can stack them too if the math adds up.

      @@redeyecafegarage7484 thanks for trying, I came up with some John Deere shims at work and ground out the center hole a little bigger, worked perfect.

    Hi buddy how are ya? I really like that you teamed up with Kaiserwillys to make how-to videos, and offer a discount code. While watching this videos I noticed you have spacers and vented disc breaks on ole’ sarge? Is the a Brendan’s garage set up? Did you use a 2psi valve on the back circuit as well as the front? I’m thinking I miss a video I don’t remember watching install that? Thanks for sharing God bless you and the fam. Have a merry Christmas!

      Hi! Thanks! Yes I’m super exited to be working with Kaiser Willys. The disc brake kit is my own custom setup. I documented it on my Instagram page and the Cj2A page forum. I run the stock master cylinder with the residual valve removed. You don’t need anything else. They work great. That’s what I run on both my Jeeps! 👍

    Where can I get .040 shims? Clearance between the halves is .185 instead of .170 max. Stock shims are .030

    I installed one of these lunch box lockers in the front of my jeep. I did not do the rear because i understand they lock under throttle. So if it's in the rear you have to remember to coast on the street when turning.

    • @redeyecafegarage7484
      @redeyecafegarage7484  Год назад +1

      Nope… I just drive like normal. Coasting through all turns is pretty much impossible with normal driving.

    What is the torque for the axle nut?

    • @redeyecafegarage7484
      @redeyecafegarage7484  2 месяца назад

      150 ftlbs is the number you will hear a lot… but you have to get the cotter pin in so once you get close to that torque watch for the hole to line up. Honestly I use my impact gun and I can tell when it’s tight enough and then just pop the pin in. 15 ugga duggas 😜
