I think the story in the campaign was pretty good for both order and disorder sides of the singleplayer campaign , i never really had any problems with the "Cutscenes" etc , games like these had limitations obviously , especially due to the engine it was using. Now obviously with games like Darktide , Space Marine / Space Marine 2 , cutscenes are more do'able and look really good without having to use a unit model for a specific scene like dawn of war did.
real time render stuff, can hardly be called a cutscene... i installed it yesterday... played the first mission, got border to hell... and uninstalled right away. at least it was in a bundle with all the other dawn of war games... for about 5 euros. DoW hasn't aged well imo - as much as all these 'real time render' RTS games that try to tell a story... not even DoW 2, which was one of my favorites back in 2007 is worth a replay these days.
Perfect. Love that people have different points of view on those topics but still get united under the Warhammer or maybe it will better said modeling banner. I quite enjoy those old Dawn of War games cause they were my first encounter to the 40k universe and bring back a lot of memories. Cheers to you friend!
