Wow!! Even I felt the tension in the air when the second hand didn't go straight to 12:00 on the first push!! So glad it finally did and glad you scored such a great vintage watch for such a great deal!! Congrats and enjoy it!!!
Hi Oleg & Bond! I really enjoyed your video! Though you didn't cover all the details, I am looking forward to hearing more about it later in the full review. Actually, I wasn't even aware that Seiko had previously made a auto chronograph, which is very cool, and I'm glad to hear! I suspect it has to be pretty rare & a great find for $150 bucks! Congrats on a interesting addition to your collection!
Thank you my friend! I wanted to do a quick unboxing first and will definitely cover all of the detailed of this watch in the full review. All the best, Oleg and Bond!
Thank you Bruno! I was surprised to see that watch in such nice condition and with everything working properly. Can't wait to share the full review with you guys. All the best, Oleg.
That blue dial Seiko were very beautiful, a bit mistreated but very nice. Unfortunately the price were too high. Do more videos like that I'm sure a lot of your audience would like it too. Thanks for tell me about it. I'll try to use more the instagram to see your posts. Thanks my friend. Now I'm going to bed (it is 11:30PM in Brazil). All the best for you.
Im also scared to take a risk on buying a vintage automatic chrono watch but seeing this video maybe considering on taking a gamble...i really like the seiko pouge
Hello. Very nice watch. I have a Seiko 6139 8001 from 1971 that was my gradfather's watch. It has been fully serviced, NOS crystal, brushed, polished, and new bracelet but still original dial. It is priceless for me. I use it almost every day. it will always be in my collection. Nice video.
Thank you my friend. It's so amazing to have a watch passed down in the same family though the generation (especially if it's an awesome watch like that). Definitely a must keep for you! All the best, Oleg.
Beautiful watch Oleg the blue dial is amazing to say the least I specially love blue dials and on a seiko just makes me jealous. Great video as always 👍
Good buy mate and very good price for the watch. Must admit I'm not a chronograph fan myself but love the vintage looks on this one. Free bonus Adidas box too! Enjoy it Oleg and look forward to your full review ⌚
Hi Oleg :)! Nice click for this Seiko Chrono Automatic ;) Really nice quality for vintage watch, paint on the dial looks like new :) When I buy the vintage watch, my first step is walk to the watchmaker for cleaning and applying some oil on the movement. Watchmaker is verifying parts in the mechanism - some hand-made parts can be added from another watchmaker and, of course, verifying condition of rollers ;)
Thanks for the suggestions Jaroslaw. I have the same routine when I buy vintage watches:) You're right about the dial I think it's been re-done (at least partially). Also I think the hand were re-painted. My watchmaker checked and the movement is all original. All the best, Oleg.
Have a Seiko sports 100 moon phase from about 1984. Pretty beaten up and the stopwatch no longer resets. But it is still a lovely thing. Keeps good time too.
Nice! I really like mine. It's compact, easy to sharpen and comes with great history. It looks very similar to it but I don't think it's actually a CompuChron band. All the best, Oleg.
You bought a VERY good watch - the 70's design and the technology of these watches are second to none. The prices (and of another wonderful Japanese chrono, the Citizen 8110) have gone up and up the latest years, but they are still a very good deal. There are incredibly many different dial and case designs with these 6139's. Very beautiful design on this I think - a thick leather strap would also fit it. Check the new Seiko Recraft Chronos - they are nice homages to the 6139's. These older Seiko bracelets tend to be "a bit" wiggly (dont worry, this is also a vintage Rolex feature ) but they will never fail you. $60 for a service is a very good deal too - I am always told that these movements are pretty nasty to work on. A rather common problem with these movements are that the chrono hand resets to the wrong position, so if anyone is looking for a 6139, I'll like Oleg also urge you to double/triple check all chrono functions. And I'll underline Oleg's comment that the 6139, (like the Citizen 8110), have no "normal" second hand, and thats a bit weird to get used to. But of course you could leave the chrono running. :) Cleaning a dial can be one of the most dangerous jobs on vintage watches. As you were told, one could easily make the problem worse. Balanced patina is ok, but this particular damage would bother me aswell. The best advice I can offer you is to try to source a replacement dial. If you dont care about originality, finding "any" dial for a 6139 should be quite easy. But if you are patient it should be possible to find the right dial. I have looked in my drawers, but I think that I sold all my 6139 parts as a lot some years ago. Another option is to go for a redial. It is possible to get the dial made as new without imperfections, even in the far east.
I imagined that this should have been a short comment, but look at this mess. Last words from me I promise: Everybody enjoy your Japanese chronos, eventhough the prices have went up, they are design- and technology-wise extreme value for money. Automatic, column wheel and with flyback - just check the price of these features in a swiss chrono :)
Thank you my friend. I enjoy reading your long comments. A lot of great and useful information in them. I think you're right. My best course of action is to find a replacement dial. For now I am enjoying the watch as it is. If and when the right dial comes along I will replace it. I think even with the dial issues I got really lucky with this one. All the best, Oleg.
Great pick I hope, looks beautiful actually and yeah: no risk no fun. I myself am not that much into any vintage but thinking about getting for my 40th birthday (40!! What a frightening thought) a watch of my birth year. Looking forward to the in depth review bro, cheers, Konstantin
Congratulations Oleg; that is indeed a steal of a deal. Thank you for sharing this with us and I am looking forward to video on things to watch out for :)
Thank you my friend! I'm gonna show this comment to my girlfriend (maybe she won't be so mad about me spending all this money on watches). All the best, Oleg.
"It was late at night, guys...." LOL! We've all been there :) Great find of a sharp looking watch. I hope it continues to run for a long time to come! (I'm sure I'm showing my ignorance of the brand here, but I always thought all Seiko 5's had an applied number "5" in a shield somewhere on the dial face?)
I know right? Damn you eBay at 2am!! So far it works great and keeps good time:) This watch has the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) dial so it's pre 1975. After 1975 JDM dials would say "Seiko 5 Sport". All the best, Oleg.
Thank you my friend. It was nerve-wracking opening that box and testing the chrono. So happy that everything works. I think the reference of mine is 6139-6012. All the best, Oleg.
150 for this watch is a really good price iam also looking for a 6139 , maybe you'll have like 100 bucks more to service the watch by a pro and it is still a bargain . There's a risk in doing this but there can be nice rewards , nice one dude , can't wait for full review! Have a nice one see you oleg.
Thank you my friend. It was a risk and really nerve-wrecking opening that box. I'm really glad that everything worked out. Good luck with your search, do let me know if you end up picking one up. All the best, Oleg.
No risk, no fun :) I think you did well, it's a great watch. The dial looks almost perfect though - hope it isn't repainted? Well, maybe you even wouldn't mind if it was so... BTW: Mr. Undone seems to be a great one, too, but isn't it a bit too expensive for what it offers? At least that's what I think... Greetings to you and Bond from Poland :)
Thank you my friend! I'm so happy that my risk has paid off. The dial is very likely repainted. It's not ideal but for the price I don't mind. All the best, Oleg and Bond:)
@@24hourstime Fine that you're happy with the watch ☺ Just because I'm curious: How much did it cost you on fee for the transfer to Venezuela? Did you do it by PayPal? See you ☺
Talked to a guy I know that had watch store for like 30’s years in Mumbai, he said lower & mid level Seikos were like water in India. They sold Seiko 5’s like bread. when I asked about a seiko frankenstien, he that that could happen, but real Seiko pars especially from 70’s to 80’s. They are like dirt, everywhere.
24Hours At A Time it was an extremely popular watch and affordable. He said seiko 5’s flew out the door of every watch store. Most other brands were too expensive for average person, and I am sure Seiko nurtured that market.
Absolutely, that makes it much harder to get your money back. Really nice choice! It has the same movement as mine. Good luck with your hunt. Do let me know if you pick one up. All the best, Oleg.
I saw the pic on your IG page and the crystal and case are in excellent condition and I love chronographs where the second hand only moves with the stop watch. I'm jealous
Wow!! Even I felt the tension in the air when the second hand didn't go straight to 12:00 on the first push!! So glad it finally did and glad you scored such a great vintage watch for such a great deal!! Congrats and enjoy it!!!

You should try your luck on a lottery. This "blind" buy were really good. =)
Hey Bruno, I just posted “an insta story” from my trip to the flea market today. I thought you might like to see it - @24hourstime
All the best, Oleg
Going to check it right now! Thanks man!

The reset had me nervous for you, I won't lie.
hahahah the same! I didn't push the re-set pusher hard enough, thankfully it resets properly. All the best, Oleg.

Thank you my friend. The blue dial was a great surprise. On pictures it looked really dark blue almost black. All the best, Oleg.
Good buy mate and very good price for the watch. Must admit I'm not a chronograph fan myself but love the vintage looks on this one. Free bonus Adidas box too! Enjoy it Oleg and look forward to your full review ⌚
Thanks Chris. "Free bonus Adidas box" LOL
Can't wait to do a full review of this one. All the best, Oleg.
Very nice watch and a good deal. I've always liked the look and usefulness of a watch with a tachymeter. Can't wait to see the full review.
Thank you my friend! I love vintage chronos, they are they "smart watches" of their time. All the best, Oleg.
That's a lovely looking watch Oleg. I can't wait for the full review.
Thank you my friend!

That's a really cool watch you have Iain. Maybe it's worth taking for a service and to see if chrono reset can be fixed. All the best, Oleg.
Just bought the same knife Opinel.
How do you like it?
Sweet watch.
The band looks like it's from a Vintage CompuChron 🤔
Nice! I really like mine. It's compact, easy to sharpen and comes with great history.
It looks very similar to it but I don't think it's actually a CompuChron band. All the best, Oleg.
Nice! Cheaper than a Pogue too. Cheers 👍👍
Thanks! I was looking at Pogue too, but truth be told - not sure how I feel about the yellow dial. All the best, Oleg.
Well done! So far so good!
Thank you!

40? pffff you look 25 at most! I'm impressed with this one. So far running well and seems to be in a good condition. All the best, Oleg.
24Hours At A Time, good to hear especially with how you got it. These are the most fun, keep it ticking Oleg👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. 25?😂😂😂🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Congratulations Oleg; that is indeed a steal of a deal. Thank you for sharing this with us and I am looking forward to video on things to watch out for :)
Thank you Jeffrey! It was nerve-wrecking but in the end worth it:) All the best, Oleg.
You got a really nice watch and now the seller has enough money to feed his family for 3 years. That's what I call a good deal.
Absolutely Julian! It's a win-win. All the best, Oleg.
I just picked up a Seiko Helmet off Ebay for about the same money. Turned out to be a bargain! If you are wanting to sell yours please let me know.
nice vintage seiko i like it... u got a good deal on it

Very cool. Hopefully it runs good.
Thank you my friend!
Congrats enjoy your new watch
Thank you Kevork!
Well gambled, mate! Congratulations, looks nice! Is it a 6139-7071? A column wheel chronograph for 150 USD - what a great pick 👍
Thank you my friend. It was nerve-wracking opening that box and testing the chrono. So happy that everything works. I think the reference of mine is 6139-6012. All the best, Oleg.

Your brave buying a vintage from eBay I’ve seen couple of tissot and Accurist I like but just not sure enough to spend out with no warranty 🙂
It was a gamble Anthony. Fortunately, my gamble on this watch has paid off. All the best, Oleg.
Great you got a deal!
Thanks Phillip!
No risk, no fun :) I think you did well, it's a great watch. The dial looks almost perfect though - hope it isn't repainted? Well, maybe you even wouldn't mind if it was so...

@@24hourstime Fine that you're happy with the watch ☺ Just because I'm curious: How much did it cost you on fee for the transfer to Venezuela? Did you do it by PayPal? See you ☺
I didn't have to pay additional fees. Just the shipping cost (around $20). Didn't even have pay for the customs:)

200 dólares in venezuela is kind off 10 times their month salary. I am also looking for one seiko 6139 here in Brazil.
Absolutely, that makes it much harder to get your money back. Really nice choice! It has the same movement as mine. Good luck with your hunt. Do let me know if you pick one up. All the best, Oleg.
Love it really classy watch
Thank you my friend!
hey! looking to sell??
Tidy! Well done
Thank you Steve!
I was scared from the time I saw the adidas box
LOL so was I... but had to act calm in the video;)
You schould let the chronograph running all the time
For a couple more bucks, you could have had them send you a bride... Now that would be talking risk.
LOL
Sad that one would make snide comments about people who are suffering...
Thanks to Seiko not God move the movement:)!!!!
Until you not check the movement, still possible that is an Indian or Chinese copycat... just i sayin' !
Very good point. I did take it to the watch maker the next day to check the movement and to see if the watch need a service. All the best, Oleg.
I want to buy your dog.
LOL
It's definitely a franken. Do not purchase these watches from Venezuela. The hand colours do not match. Fake
That watch is in very good condition. I'm very skeptical about buying from 3rd world countries. I can't wait to hear the review on it.
Thank you my friend. It was nerve-wrecking but when my offer of $150 was accepted I decided that it was worth the risk. All the best, Oleg.
