- I was trying to show and explain to you how easy and awesome it is to have side doors on your truck/trailer, buuut the doors didn't want to work with me today 😂🛠
and this day I only had this wagon available, but it was fun tho, and we all have to remember that it can't be easy every time 😉

Between that sweet accent and that pretty look ... I am addicted to these videos.
Not speaking for all north American truckers but the loads I pulled in dry van trailers were on a conventional 48" x 40" pallet. Any long materials are usually loaded on flat bed or step decks and may or may not require tarping. We use what we call dunnage which is usually pieces of wood like 2x4 for example that go width ways across the deck of the trailer used to keep things like steel or big crates up off trailer so forks can get underneath and also to distribute weight properly and seperate materials. Angela you had me in stitches. You're very honest to admit your intent was a quick 10 minute tutorial on how EASY it is to open and close the doors. Your expression when you admitted it was a failure was priceless. btw this is known as Murphy's Law. That is, if something can go wrong, it will go wrong.
And nobody is to blame if Murphy strikes. lol.

you are such a smooth operator with heavy machinery when you handle delicate tasks like gently pushing on the wagon door handle to close it with the loader. i'm really impressed, since i don't see anyone present to even guide you. kind of like an angel at the wheel and controls. you live up to your name....ha!
Your tutorial was great. This showed us normal operations as well as what to do when normal doesn't work. Most RUclipsrs edit out anything that doesn't go smoothly during their tutorials. It's nice that you kept it. Remember, you only fail when you stop trying.

Hello from Minnesota. You can stand pallets on the side or end and use a small ratchet strap to stabilize them. If there's no room, see if you can make an agreement with the company to store them there, then pick them up when you have room. If it's a one time stop and you need to bring pallets back, then you may need to reorganize the load to make room. Love your videos. Stay safe.

Real simple answer to your question...at least in North America/ Canada our trucks/ trailers are built around ergonomics, not maximum productivity! I've been driving for 25+ years and do multi axle, heavy haul stuff now, but I did LTL on a flat deck for many years and did a lot of tarping. I've been watching your videos for a while now and I am fascinated by how functional the truck/ wagon (as you call it)😁 is, we just call them trailers! Being able to load Van freight and flat deck freight from the entire length just makes more sense! I love the insight on how other countries do things, most times way more efficiently. Great work, keep the videos coming! ps...I've driven Volvo's for 20+ years when I had to buy my own, they just aren't cabovers.😎
In the the US we drive tractor trailers that can only be loaded from the back. So all the pallets come in certain sizes to always fit into a trailer by bringing them in by forklift or pallet jack hand held machine. They consider the trailer size before backing the pallets. It's a shame some people will violate hard working people who work and earn for a living, but Angelica you are a queen with so many bigger things going on for yourself in the world. Sorry to hear that someone broke into your car. For the long Cargo, we load it from the side, like you do. If that is not possible, we try to push it in from behind with the forklift and a lot of manpower. Wish you a nice week, Valkyrie.

It wasn't a fail Ms Larson we got a new video from you and got to enjoy your beautiful smile! Any van trailers in the US just have a back door so you have to use a pallet jack or small forklift to load and unload so definitely not quite as nice as being able to open the entire side. This is my 1st time of writing to you. I am Steve & I live in the UK. I drive a Volvo FH4 artic, pulling a bulk loader tipper trailer. Over here we use curtain sided trailers that are called tautliners. This is the soft sided alternative to the doors that you drive. We do have some styles of trucks the same as yours, but they a mainly tautliners when it comes to long or oversized goods. Or we use flat beds with tarps & straps.

There is no such thing as a bad tutorial when Angelica Larsson is involved. I love all of your videos. Sad what happened to your car. Unfortunately there are people like that everywhere. I don't drive a truck but I do load and unload them. When I put long things in a trailer I push them in with a forklift.

To answer your question on how we load long pallets we use trailers with a sail.

Hi Angelica! In US, we typically use 48ft open flatbed trailers which can be loaded from either side, usually with non-palletized freight...lumber, steel, coils, etc and then strapped. Pallet freight usually goes in a 53ft dry van trailer and loaded from the back. Pallets are typically 3.5x4ft.
You do a great job with your videos and your a skilled driver! Enjoy and be safe!
Having the doors on the side is great. Saves time from unloading a trailer to get a skid from the front then reloading. Great job on gently pushing the handle with the wheel loader.

I’ve had my car broken into also, however when they did it to mine they dented the door panel. Some trailers in the uk have curtains which you can slide open to make it easier. Hope everyone had a good easter😀

Sometimes trailer doors, even when empty, will not close because the trailer is not on a level spot.
Came here to say this. Doesn't take much either. I've seen one single rock cause the doors to bind and stay open.

Hi Angelica, at my place we have curtain sides so always load from the side. Our loads are a mix of steel and aluminium that can sometimes be the length of the trailer in one piece. Each stillage can weight up to 2.5tonnes. Still scares the shit out of me picking them up with the forklift and getting them up to highest point of the trailer.

In the U.S. long cargo is loaded on open trailers and tarped. (Sometimes called "skateboards") Generally only standard pallets are loaded on enclosed trailers. We don't used enclosed boxes on the tractor when pulling a trailer, or as you call them, "wagons". If a trailer has a side door there is only one and it is only 5 feet wide. "Box Trucks", as they are called in the states, are only used for local city hauling. And they are of lower capacity, no more that 10 tons. Whereas tractor-trailer combinations are up to 80 tons.

In America we use a pallet jack ,sometimes we get creative, with chains and a forklift to pull the pallet off the back of the trailer
There's many ways we can load stuff in our trailers, stack pallets on logistics bars, and really how creative you can be if you're short on room. Stay safe Angelica.

In the US, we use flat beds, then tarp the cargo or use a soft side roll back enclosure.
Same in Canada
Or push it and drag it out if it’s just long and not that heavy on an enclosed trailer.
