Big ups to both Vusi and OJ.
Our big brother and role model Vusi Thembekwayo never dissapoints, he's always on fire. South Africa and Africa thank God for Vusi, may God keep Vusi so that he may keep on inspiring us to being the best version of ourselves that we can be.
I bet a lot of African countries have better tasting avocados than Kenya, that is why Vusi said South Africa has better tasting avocados. It was probably because OJ became a bit bias on promoting mostly Kenya, I never heard OJ speak about any other African country either than Kenya.

Big up Vusi and OJ fellow on highlighting the beauty of Africa.
"African behind the headlines" Africa should not be looked as a charity case but a strategic partner in investment, investing in Africa ought to be skills, training.
The problem about Africa is all in Africa. Our leaders don't love its people, a leader ought to think or take decisions based affecting the Next-generation.

As an African, I am also looking forward to contributing to the building of this beautiful continent. The terms of how we trade are on "good-faith" based on how we we establish a relationship that is based on our ability to respect each others differences without forcing the differing ideas or beliefs. Africans will build their continent as they see fit with the help of friends & partners who want common prosperity for everyone. #vukasakhe

I love this video as a young person I wanna invest in Africa but me getting access to the stock markets from Botswana is a pain in the ass even here as I am in Botswana I can't invest in my own country as a lower middle class person I can't afford that and I don't like brokers. As I stand my only investment in Africa is Airtel Africa through the London Stock Exchange, I get theirs Jumia in the USA and Angelo America which is owns DeBeers but they are not suitable investments to me. I can't tell u how long I Have had my eye on Shoprite in the JSE but I can't but it individually without expensive broker. I have seen Nigeria develop Bamboo an investment app but its focused on USA stocks and isn't in Botswana I have nothing against that but I already have access to US UK Europe markets where's the JSE.

Great presentation by both Vusi and OJ.
I'm glad to see discussions about taking Africa to the next level are being led by prolific persons as yourself.
I feel like we had two discussions in this session. And in a way, both kind of complemented themselves.
OJ, although he didn't point out a lot of specifics and may not have articulated his points as clearly as Vusi but acted as the constant voice to call on investors to come to africa. Given a broad view of why it is important.
Vusi, on the other hand, put more flesh and provided specific reasons and points as to why Africa is the place and how to go about investing.
The lady calling Africa a country should have done her research well. However, for me, it is an assignment/challenge given to us Africans to build our countries and continent to the level that nobody can mistaken our identity. Also, i think we also need to stop over emphasizing that Africa is made in different countries. For us to really develop, we need to consider africa as one nation.
This is just my opinion. As such, i understand it won't be for everyone.

My grandparents were farmers and I grew up in the rural area. In 2020 I was part of a group that tried to purchase a huge farm in the western cape. All we needed was an investor willing to invest 50 million in credit, not even in cash. I’m pro food security, education, capital funding but most importantly, mental development of African people. We are a rich continent and it’s clear. I used to want to leave and go live in first world countries. When I got educated on our wealth as a continent, there’s no way I’d skip a chance to build on the soil of my forefathers and heritage.

OC is enthusiastic and right about Africa being ready but too much emphasis sounds a bit desperate for investors to come because we are ready but hearing Kenya having one of the highest rates of corruption is not encouraging… trust and credibility VT you put it well… that’s the mentality we need to show has changed and transformation has taken place and Africans want to be transparent, effective and productive in business.

"...We have a young population, Our labor is fairly cheap, you can be able to afford.." Africa is tired of being sold like this to the Europeans, Americans and the Asians. A partnership that will benefit Africa is what we need. An economically united Africa that negotiates partnerships as the united states of Africa is what we need. Companies come here and build businesses that are gonna create non quality and unsustainable 3-6 months temporary jobs, that doesn't benefit us, it benefits the investor.

You briefly touched on food insecurity and the challenges of a growing population and decreasing size of arable land. Well actually the cause of global food insecurity, which is a global issue even in developed countries like the USA who has 14% of it's population living in severe food insecurity, although it affects most severely the global south, is the means of distribution which we know as the free market. In fact, globally we produce enough food to feed a population of ten billion people. Today 928 million people, or 12% of the world's population live in a state of severe food insecurity. The cause of this food insecurity is the vastly unequal distribution of wealth concentrated in the global north and systematically engineered by capitalism. The problem isn't scarcity but inequity exploited by the rich minority to live lavishly as the majority is subjected to exploitation and subsequent insecurity.

Today the Western world is in a economic crisis because only a few sit with all the money.
Thirdly if other countries invest in Africa they take the profits but they don't make money to pay taxes, look at Zambia.

But, they continue to ignore our economic power. We just need to be welcomed back home without so much restrictions. We shouldn't have to go through the same immigration process as other races. Look at the history of U.S. and Israel and how they created immigration policies to help build their countries. I mean no disrespect but the other gentleman seems either unprepared or is genuinely uninformed. he is talking all over the place and is saying nothing of concrete substance. I see that a lot in a swath of Integrated annual reports and I always avoid investing in companies whose annual reports have a lot of fluff.

Come to the African Diaspora Village because it is better for Africans to invest in Africa. African should use their own resourses and take the profits and reinvest in Africa.

Lets start with this. The name Africa is not African. It's Italian. So that is why they do what they do.

Vusi if we can be able to process our raw materials as far as mining is concerned and sell finished products to other international countries it is when we can win and grow our economy, as long as we sell raw material elsewhere cheaper with our low ZAR currency and buy it from countries with USD and GBP to mention the few with always high exchange rate we not gonna win this. So we need to process our own raw material until the final product then we can win and those high countries with high exchange rates then they can rise we won't care that can boost our profit then we can win. As things stand right now we are fighting a losing battle, the more the rand value rise we still gonna suffer it is where the secret lies. if we sell the product to them those countries will drop their currency I'm telling you because they will try to equalize our currencies so that they don't spend more Euros or Dollars and Pounds.

Its not nice to listen to Africans being drawn into denouncing Africa as a country let alone propagandingly also arousing them to pepertuate aristocracy as if is foreign in Africa. Leave scholarly matters to scholars. Undiluted and Pan African Scholars by the way.
