The Funky Girls are often referencing K ON! a popular anime where a group of girls start a Light Music Club and a band. They end up being successful and go to London at one point. So these After K ON! aired a lot of Japanese girls became inspired to learn to play instruments too, so here these girls aren't trying to learn instruments, they just want to be popular and go to London without doing the work.
