My own house has massive “leaks”....basically every time my dog needs to take leak.
Definitely need a pressurized vestibule doggy door.

You know it's an outdated video when the specs on the bag of my R-23 mineral wool batt list the dimensions as 3.91 ft. x 5.5 in. x 15 in. R-19 compressed fiberglass is for people in Wisconsin who drink 50-cent coffee with their cheese. He also makes little sense on the vapor-barrier issue. Unless you're going to use foam or the Kraft-faced batts, there aren't many other cheap ways to produce a Class II or better vapor retarder other than putting up a plastic sheet, and northern codes like Wisconsin's have required the 1 perm or less, so as a practical and cost-effective practice, that was indeed a response to code and code needed to do a better job of specifying preferred examples. He also betrays a lack of awareness of air leakage and movement in walls and why the people he was seeing do flash-and-batt thought the foam was doing a much better job of getting them airtight performance. That's because, with imperfect framing joints and electrical holes in most studs, not to mention outlets, there are all sorts of opportunities for those imperfections, especially towards the bottom of the wall, to be sources of air and even vapor and thermal intrusion without the foam, depending on the build. He might need a little more time with Dr. Lstiburek.

Get a different cameraman, one that points to the subject matter and not the instructor!

He's a very informant person and this is one of the good classes that you don't fall asleep in. I've had multiple classes with him and it's always educational and entertaining
