Thank you for your comment. I have been struggling with connecting with this practice since coming out of Christianity. I experience much anger as I see whites celebrating the spiritual practices that were forcibly removed from my ancestors as they were given a foreign god. Growing up in a Haitian Christian home I was indoctrinated to believe these practices are evil & demonic. As I learn more about Sallie Ann Glassman and the work she has done and is doing I am becoming grateful that she adopted these traditions and is serving her communities with it.
